3 1 System Requirement Hardware : CPU:P4, Celeron 633 above DRAM type:256m above (suggest 512MB above) HDD type:10g above Displayer pixel mode:800 x 600 or above (suggest1024 x 768 above) Software: Operation System requirement:windows NT 4.0 or above version (include: Windows 2000,Windows XP,Windows 2003,Windows Vista,Windows 7 etc) Component suite requirement: Microsoft.net 2.0(System s automatically detected and installed) Database requirement:mssql Express 2005 Default(System s automatically detected and installed) 2 Install and Uninstall How to install Software? Click setup.exe icon and follow the installation wizard to start the program. Note:For Windows 7 and Vista users: Strongly recommend to save the Installation program to the position other than System s (Default position is: C:\Program Files and C:\Windows). How to uninstall Software? Remove (uninstall) the program from Control Panel program
4 3 How to start? Default user name for Somac is system and no password is configured. The system user cannot be removed and posses total control authorization/operation for Somac. Default database of Somac uses is data\chiyu.mdf, saved under Installation file. When initial Somac program, it will automatically attach database to local MSSQL engine. It is necessary to be waiting until Somac started. Start a terminal Click System Terminal, an operation dialogue will be shown up. When Somac started, it will get into a main screen and automatically receive the connection of terminals, listen ports of terminals It will take around 1~2 minutes to create such a connection between Somac and Terminals and display all of connections on the list. All of connected terminals won t be automatically stored to database until double click the terminal and fulfill the Terminal Name and Remark fields one by one and Save. It is also acceptable by clicking Add button directly to add a new terminal, but it should be carefully given a Terminal ID which is different than existed ones. If any terminal s parameter is needed to be configured, choose one terminal which has connected and click Set button for the terminal configuration screen. When connection between Somac and Terminals cannot be established after 2 minutes: 1 Make sure network quality is stable? Or, 2 Check the Terminal setup parameters thru Web application to see if the Software IP is given as the PC which has installed with Somac program. 3 The port number should also be the same
5 4 Configure Time Set and Time Zone Time set is a period of a time section. For example: 08:00-12:00 stands for a time set. Time zone is composed of several time sets, when configure a time zone, time set should be firstly determined. Click System Time Set to get into time set management screen. It provides an interface to Add/Modify/Remove/Upload time set to terminal. Click System Time Zone to get into time zone management screen. It provides an interface to Add/Modify/Remove/Upload time zone to terminal. There are eight kinds of days, including Monday to Sunday, and Holiday. Each kind of day allows to be given up to16 time sets. 5 Door Setup Before configure Door Setup parameter, Terminal Set up information should be firstly given. Click System Door to get into Door Setup management interface It provides an interfaceto Add/Modify/Remove door setup parameter. Also, remotely sending door s open and close command is achievable. When newly adding a Door Setup parameter, it s shown as below: Door Name: A simple but meaningful name is recommended. Location: Refer to a terminal list on the terminal list. Index: A door number which is control by a Semac controller. When main controller is not a Semac series (eg. WEBPASS etc), this index can be 1, or if it is a Semac series main controller, the door index should be given according to the actual door number(s) that managed by Semac
6 6 Group Setup Make sure the parameter for Time Zone and Door Setup both are configured before congifure Group Setup. Group is a concept for user s classifying and management. To set up a Group should firstly reference to Time Zone and Door Setup parameters, and the Group s regulation will be assigned to users, which means: user can only access particular door(s) (based on Door setup) during a particular time (based on Time Zone setup). Terminal, Time Set, Time Zone, Door, Group and User relationship dialogue: Terminal Time Set Door Time Zone Group User Click System Group to get into Group management screen. It provides Add/Modify/Remove group parameter. Also, Group parameter can upload to terminal
7 7 User Management Click Set User Management to get into user management screen. It provides an interface for Add/Modify/Remove/Batch modify/print/export/upload/download..etc. Click Add first as shown: Employee ID information is required and this new employee ID should NOT be duplicated with existed employee ID. Card Number information can be user s ID or IC card number. Group 1 Group 2 Group 3 Group 4 etc is to affirm which group(s) authorization have granted to the user, it also means, door s access permission has authorized to the user. Main info -> Work Status Default value is On Work, if value has modified as Off work, this user information cannot be uploaded to terminal. Click OK to save current user information and will get a blank interface for new input
8 8 Control Panel Control Panel interface is to provide administrator a concentrated and centralized management screen to a terminal. Click System Control Panel to get into the Control Panel interface. 9 Multi-Badge ID Mainly use to a particular occasion which requires multiple user s authorization in the same time to access a door. Click System Multi-Badge to get into the multiple badge setup interface. 10 Event Handle To configure what action does a terminal will take for different event type. Event types including Alarm trigger level, IP Camera image capture, Alarm trigger or not etc. Click System Event Handle to get into Event handle management interface. 11 Alarm To configure senders/receivers information for alarm event triggered. Click System Alarm to get into alarm configuration interface. 12 Department Designation Mainly use to define Department and Designation to be conveniently chose when newly add or modify user s information. Click Set Department to get into department setup interface. Also, sub-department can also be configured. Click Set Designation to get into designation setup interface
9 13 Automatically Register User Automatically user registry function provides an exceptional registry window to specially upload user data to a terminal without using Somac tool. Some occasions, a company who has applied existed Human Resource tool and wish to use it to update user information to terminal. Click Set - Automatically Register User to get into the management screen. It can also preview the waiting list which is going to upload to terminal, immediately registry for user cards, and determine activation of the registry function or not etc. 14 Real-Time Monitoring (Image) Real-Time monitoring will be functional when physical IP Camera has set. Click Monitor - Captured Image Display Mode to get into real time image monitor screen. Clcik SET button to get into setup screen, shown as below: It also provides an interface to configure: Log count display for monitoring image. Image zoom-in and zoom-out method Image files will save to? Activate event Event color: Different colors for different events. Alarm sounds for configured events. Remark: Make sure if activate event has added and also check up terminal configuration of the IP Camera, and if this IP Camera is still functional? - 7 -
10 15 Real-Time Monitor (Text) Real time text mode monitoring is to display real time access log by text mode. Click Monitor Real time text mode monitor to get into the screen, shown as below: SET : Can be set : display log count for a screen, correspondent event, event display color, sound alarm etc. Print : Print out log from current list. Export : Export log from current list. New window : To call a new, independently text mode monitor window
11 16 Map Monitor To achieve map monitor thru Somac, it requires one or many floor plan drawing which has installed terminal. Drawing format can be : jpg jpeg png gif bmp etc. Map monitor is designed with Door base which should be started from Door Setup configuration.( System Door setup ) Click Monitor Map Monitor to get into map monitor screen. Click Add button to call a new configuration dialogue box., shown as below: Input a map name, for example: Main door- first floor,besides, more description can be input for the map on the same window.. Click Select image button to choose a drawing, it will display on the central position of a window. Click mouse to call a Select Door window. Shown as below: Select a door and click OK, a door icon will be displayed on the map It can be added more door icons on the map by clicking the map one by one. (One same door can only be added one time) To remove a door from the map: Move to cursor to the door icon then click right button to execute remove function for a door. To remove all doors from the map: Click clear all doors button. To modify a door, move the cursor to the door icon then click right button to execute modify function for a door. Using left key of mouse can drag the icon to different location. Note:1 If over one map should be monitored at the same time, clicking new window button to make it functional. 2 On the Map monitor screen, the door location can be changed by dragging the door icon, but the new location data won t be retain on Somac
12 17 Reports Access log report:for checking access logs. Card history report:for checking card s use history. First In Last Out (FILO) report: For checking first and last access logs from a day for an user. How to configure user s authority? Click Tool User Role management to get into role management interface to add a correspondent authority for users. Click Tool User User management to get into user management interface. Click Add button to newly add a user.(if user s account has existed then click Modify to change the user s authority. Shown as below: Input necessary information for the Add window then select a Role. Click OK. Note:1 If user s authority is needed to be modified, then change it by clicking Modify. 2 When adding or modifying a role authority : once View authority has been un-tick from the authority module (means grant no any viewing authority to this person) then this person has no permission to Modify Data and Operate Terminal
13 How to import user s data? Somac provides User data import function from different file format or database, like Excel Access or MSSQL. Click Tool Import Wizard Import User Data to get into user data import wizard. Follow the wizard step by step to complete the user data import function. Note:Employee ID should not be duplicated. How to connect to different type of database? Default use database for Somac is MSSQL Express2005 If a different database version than MSSQL Express 2005 is used, for example:mssql Server 2005 standard: it should : 1 Attached data\chiyu.mdf and Chiyu_log.ldf both from Somac program file to MSSQL Server Modify database connection:: Tool Database connection, select a database type as MSSQL Server from the window and input database server information under Database connection label then restart Somac program after store the database information.., Note:If Somac database file has saved to a different file other than default one then modified one should be attached at the step 1. How to change the company s name on reports? Click Tool Option set the company name on General filed. How to change language type? Default display language on Somac will be same as current Operation System language. But, if current Operation System language is other than Traditional or Simplified ones, then Somac program language will be English. To change the display language: Click Tool Option to configure the Display Default language types provided: Tradition Chinese, Simplified Chinese and English. If other language type is needed, click Custom Text button to continue
14 How to change IP address and Port number information? Modify IP address and listen port number from Tool Option -> Advanced level. How to check current IP address and Port number? Check IP address and Port number from Tool Somac information How to check access logs count on a terminal? Check access log from Tool Option -> Advanced How to check log count for a terminal? Click System Control Panel to select a terminal, then click Access log Check log count of access log Information list will display the result. How to download access logs? There are four access log download methods: 1 Real time access log, Back ground receiving, Automatically store: When a connected terminal received access logs (scan card or input password etc), Somac will receive and store the logs. The process of log receiving is not required to open the monitoring function like Real time image monitor, Real time text monitor or map monitor). Function won t be effect if any monitoring methods opened. 2 Manually download Un-received logs : Refer to the logs that still keep in terminal and not yet upload to Somac, which includes the logs that come when terminal and Somac disconnected or in a connection status, the logs didn t send to Somac..etc, Click System Control Panel, select a terminal and click Access log to start to download the un-received logs 3 Automatically, Periodically download un-received logs: Click System - Control Panel Access Logs Set up Automatically download, shown as below: 4 Download all access logs: Refer to all logs that keep in terminal. Click System Control Panel, select a terminal, and click Access log Download all logs will download all access logs from terminal to Somac
15 How to remotely control door s open and close? Somac provides three different ways for door open and close remotely: 1 Click System Door : Under Door management interface to choose a door, then click Remote Control pull down list for the open or close button to execute door open or close remotely. 2 Click Monitor Map monitor : Move cursor to the door icon and click right button of mouse to choose open or close button from the function list. 3 Click System Control Panel : Select a terminal then click open or close button from the Remote Control pull down list. How to modify password? Click System Control Panel : Select a terminal then click More option to call a Password modify window to modify the password. How to back up a database? Firstly check the Database type of Somac currently uses.( Tool Database connection ) If it is MSSQL Express: Back up the database folder from Database Connection. If it is MSSQL Server: Back up the database from a specified server that defined by Connect to Database
