Questions you need to think through when you decide your back up approach. 4 How information is stored in our computer (on our Hard Disk) Windows 10 Programs Your Data Installed on all new computers Word, Excel, Quicken, Firefox, etc., etc. Installed with computer when you buy it, bought later on a CD or downloaded from the Internet This is information unique to you photos of grand-kids, your financial data, your s and contacts, your music library etc.

5 Questions when planning your Back-Up Do you need access to individual files or folders in the back up? Do you want to keep copies of changes that you make to a picture or document? How up to date do you need your back up to be? Hourly, daily, weekly or monthly Are you concerned about ransomware? How many different backups will you make?

9 System Restore You can use a restore point to restore your computer's system files to an earlier point in time. Restore points are automatically created each week by System Restore and when your PC detects change, like when you install an app or driver.
