3 IMPORTANT TWinSoft Installation. TWinSoft Suite requires some windows components to run properly. When required, these components are installed during setup if connected to Intenet. With old versions of Windows, Windows Installer 4.5 is a pre-requesite to TWinSoft installation. If connected to Internet it will be downloaded, then installed. After that a reboot is required and TWinsoft setup will keep on running upon restart. The following versions of Windows are concerned: Windows XP SP2, XP SP3 Windows Server 2003 SP1, 2003 SP2 Windows Vista, Vista SP1 Windows Server 2008 If not connected to Internet, the package can be donwloaed at the following url: Runtime : following three packages are required with all versions of Windows: VC : VC : 3.5 : 3.5 for Windows 8 or Windows 8.1: Off line installation is not possible : FR: US: Installer : the one corresponding to the version of Windows OS: Installer 4.5 (XP x86) : Installer 4.5 (XP/Server 2003 x64) : Installer 4.5 (Vista/Server 2008 x86) : Installer 4.5 (Vista/Server 2008 x64) : Installer 4.5 (Server 2003 x86) : TBoxUSB driver Some TBox's have USB port that can be used for programming. A driver in Widows is required. When connected to Internet, the driver is available from Windows update. 4 1. System Requirement TWinSoft runs under Windows XP, VISTA, W7, W8, W2012 (see above for pre-requesites) Windows XP is not supported anymore by Microsoft since April HELP files under Windows VISTA and higher Help files of TWinSoft are under the format.hlp and requires winhelp32.exe. It is not supported anymore in Windows VISTA, W7 and W8. It must be installed manually, from the web site: 2. Upload OS Some new features and corrections apply to TWinSoft only or to OS only. Some concern both TWinSoft and OS. In order to take benefit of all those features, you need to upload the new OS in your RTU. From the main menu of TWinSoft: Communication -> Send to TBox -> Operating system, select the higher version. We advise to upload the OS locally and with an empty program Upload OS / Kernel with -MS32 - LT2 The 32 bits RTU (MS32, -LT2) runs on LINUX, several libraries and drivers. New Operating System may also require uploading of LINUX component(s). Version of the different modules is checked automatically when uploading the OS. As of TWinSoft and OS 1.06.xxx, TBOX MS32 supports direct uploading of LINUX module(s) from TWinSoft, including handling of versions. In order to get to OS 1.06.xxx or higher, you need first to upload the intermediate OS During upload from 1.05 to 1.06 or higher, current Tag values will be lost (due to the new organization of Tags to support TEXT Tags) If generating Pack&Go file, the same sequence needs to be achieved. When OS 1.06 or higher has been uploaded, it is not possible to download to a lower version. Upload to OS 1.06.xx and higher is only possible as of OS 1.04.xx and CPU shipped as of February With lower version of OS, the CPU must be sent back to your distributor TWinSoft Release notes 4

5 To upload from OS 1.06 to 1.09 or higher, use the following sequence: - upload from 1.06 to upload from 1.08 to upload from 1.09 to any higher OS As of TWinSoft and OS 1.09.xxx LINUX Kernel is automatically uploaded if needed. We do not advise you upload LINUX kernel through modem, GSM or GPRS connections. As of TWinSoft and OS 1.17.xxx A new procedure of package, OS and application uploaded assures more reliability. It works when OS 1.17 runs already in the TBox, then not during the first upload. In case a downgrade to OS < 1.17 is required, it can only be done using TWinSoft or higher; then a lower version of TWinSoft can be used with lower version of OS. As of TWinSoft SP1 and OS With these versions, TWinSoft updates also curl and OpenSSL libraries. It is not allowed from then to downgrade <= Upload OS / Loader with -MS16, -LT, -WM, -LP With TBOX MS16, TBOX LITE, TBOX WM, TBOX LP a new Loader might also be available. When uploading OS, if TWinSoft detects the loader in the RTU is older, it will prompt you to upload the new version of loader: say YES! 2.3. Upload OS with -TBox CPU3 NOTE: with TBOX CPU-3, OS 5499 should only be used to upgrade from 54xx to 55xx with CPU shipped as of August TWinSoft Release notes 5

6 3. Known Issues TMA files support maximum 247 Sampling Tables Above this quantity, the tables will not be included into the TMA file. No problem to retrieve more than 247 tables with TView using Download Scheduling. TBox Dial it! under VISTA, W7 and W8 This utility, used to dial to TBox from IE to display Webforms, does not work under VISTA and Windows 7 You have now to use TConnect, the standard tool to access TBox Webform, through modem, GPRS or Ethernet. See Camera A camera with Ethernet port and TCP/IP protocol can be connected to TBox. Working with TBOX MS16 and TBOX LITE, there are some camera time out issues we cannot bypass. It is due to the mechanism of data transfer of some camera (frames sent by half packet, without known reason). This limit today to use to camera with slow image size, like D-LINK DCS900, or AXIS 207. Working with TBOX MS32 or TBOX LT2 as there is much more resource and it runs LINUX, we don't encounter those problems. % in WebForms The character % can be used when displaying Tag value to select predefined format. For instance: %V (to display the value), %U (to display the unit), %3.2f (to fix the display of Floating point variable),... - If you want to display the character %, you have to indicate %%. Up to TWinSoft 10.03, a mistake in using the character % had no effect. - As of TWinSoft and a new development environment (VS2008), a new C library is automatically used which requires proper use of %. 7 4. New Features 4.1. New Configuration from the Wizard (MS-CPU32 and LT2) These new Wizard windows help you in configuring the modem IP configuration (APN) and a VPN configuration through TConnect, the facilitator of TBox connections. 3G modem: APN and PIN code: VPN configuration through TConnect: TWinSoft Release notes 7

8 4.2. New Security Wizard With the opening of TBox to the IT world, it becomes crucial to reinforce access protection and data encryption. A new sequence of wizards helps you in configuring three features that are concerned by cyber security: Firewall HTTPS SSH When sending your application you are informed on the status of those three features: To modify one or more of them, click Security Wizard : TWinSoft Release notes 8

9 According to the features already configured, click next to carry on with configuration: Firewall You can activate the firewall (all incoming IP will be blocked) and define some basic exceptions to filter access to TBox. 10 4.2.2.HTTPS HTTPS secures communication from a browser. It encrypts all communication from/to TBox. Click Next SSH SSH protocol is used to access TBox in console mode, at LINUX level. Click Next TWinSoft Release notes 10

11 Your TBox is secured Option to store WebFiles on SD card This option requires a SD card in TBox... Available for MS-CPU32 and LT2. When selected, only webfiles that have changed (based on md5 signature on the files) will be updated into TBox, upon TWinSoft sending of the application. TWinSoft Release notes 11

12 4.4. New Analog System Variable HttpSession This variable indicates the number of users that have logged in HTTP to TBox. This requires HTTP protection to be activated as well as HTTP session Authentication: We do not use sockets as several sockets might be opened/closed during one HTTP session New Digital System Variable These variable indicates the presence of a SD card, and gives an indication on the volume of data present on the card, when the card is full at 90%. To remove files on the SD card, you can connect using a FTP client and delete files. The FTP protection must be activated to delete files on the SD card (see in TWinSoft help How to use FTP Server) TWinSoft Release notes 12

13 4.6. WebForm Studio New object: Sound This new object is based of HTML5 audio Tag. The files supported are.mp3 and.wav. MIND that wave files are not supported by Internet Explorer. However, all browsers support MP3, which then should be preferred. You declare sound file as property of the object. The file will be automatically sent to TBox. The object does not appear in runtime. To activate the sound, you will use script: It can be on a any Tag on the webform or from the TagToWatch if the Tag is not visible. TWinSoft Release notes 13

14 4.6.2.Image: URL property Instead of declaring an image present in TBox, you can link to a URL. Check TBox can access this URL; if it is a URL on Internet, TBox must be able to access Internet. MIND the special HTML character. If the link contains characters like & or <, it has to be replaced by its HTML entity. 16 4.6.4.List of Alarms: Translation of the Column. The text of the columns is available for translation, or any customization: You type the new text corresponding to each column New Remote Device: RM2 A new remote device is available in the list: When adding an RM2 device, you can select the model of RM2 (-530, -532, -540 or -542). When creating the device, you are prompted by TWinSoft to create the Tags and the ModBus transactions: TWinSoft Release notes 16

17 4.8. Report Studio: Multiple Column Table This object allows now maximum 32 columns. It still must be data of sampling tables with identical size and period. TWinSoft Release notes 17

18 4.9. OpenVPN: Fix IP Address Configuration for Clients When requiring fix IP addresses for a client, the configuration is applied in the Server only. A file in the Server, with the name of the client used to create the certificates contains the IP address to give to the client when connecting. This is now possible through a new command in Server configuration file. This is not a standard behavior! There is a preprocess of advanced parameters to allow this... And it requires some manual configuration. The new command allowing to create an external configuration file is entered in the Advanced parameters: <file name="/tmp/openvpn/my_config_file"> content of my file </file> This command will create a file called my_config_file in /tmp/openvpn/ and with associated content. Due to security, files can be created in this directory only. It is also not allowed to create subdirectories The file is re-created on startup, no issue if this is in /tmp, it will be re-created all the time (even in case of reboot). So, to provide a fix IP to clients, we have to create the file associated to each client, with the command ifconfig-push into it. And reference its path with the standard command client-config-dir.. 20 6. Fixes & Enhancements 6.1. In TWinSoft SP3 + OS FPGA (ref. 5416): MS-CPU32-S2 + MS-8AIVC & MS-COMBO With MS-CPU32-S2 running with either MS-8AIVC or MS-COMBO together with serial communication on the BUS (MS-SERIAL, MS-GSM-3G, ), the reading of analog inputs might be corrupted. This is very intermittent. It does not happen with MS-CPU32. Correction applied to the code of FPGA and LINUX ADC driver. In order to apply the correction to TBox, one needs to upload OS, even if it is the same version of the one running in TBox. After update of OS, you can check the 2 modules concerned have been updated, doing a RTU Identification Advanced... : TWinSoft with OS-C (ref. 5400): Setup When using report with multiple columns table, with TBox-MS16, TBox-LITE, TBox-WM or TBox- LP, TWinSoft generates a compilation error. TWinSoft MS-CPU32-S2 (ref. 5315): Communication Ports Renumbering of communication ports (COMx), taking USB ports into account. COM1, 2, 3, 4, then USB1, 2, 3 are now COM5, 6, 7, then following ports COM8, COM9, You might have to check add-on configuration if it uses communication ports > COM4 TWinSoft Release notes 20

21 6.2. In TWinSoft SP2 + OS TWinSoft (ref. 5373): Setup Issue during WebFormViewer installation. Registration method has been changed. TWinSoft (ref. 5372): Setup Issue during TWinSoft installation if user's name uses different characters set as the Windows language (like name in Hebrew and Windows in UK). TWinSoft (ref. 5371): RM2 Issue with ModBus Transactions created for RM2. Tags associated to DO's are configured as DIs. TWinSoft (ref. 5354): Bridge Sending a program to communication ports configured as bridge, TWinSoft returns a message RTU send failed. TWinSoft (ref. 5353): Program Sources Retrieving sources through SSH works only once. TWinSoft (ref. 5347): Program Sources Retrieve program sources does not work anymore (Seen with CPU3 and MS-CPU16). TWinSoft (ref. 5342): Conversion Conversion form MS-CPU16 to MS-CPU32-S2 is now possible. TWinSoft (ref. 5339): French Translation In RTU Indentification, installation status Iddle is now translated Terminé. TWinSoft (ref. 5335): Copy/Paste Copy/Paste of Remote Devices does not work when the name is composed of 2 characters, like D1. TWinSoft crashes after D9. TWinSoft (ref. 5323): Import/Export Import/Export of Tags for CPU3: initial value not supported. TWinSoft (ref. 5238): Automation TWinSoft might crash when 2 sessions are opened. Automatic periodical recovery has been disabled when running TWinSoft trough Automation. TWinSoft Release notes 21

22 6.3. In TWinSoft SP1+ OS TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5327): GSM When connected in IP and sending SMS, does not reconnect in IP after the sending of SMS. To prevent futur issue because of this problem, OS has been removed from the setup TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5325): TConnect Unable to login to TConnect when HTTP are fragmented. TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5324): HTTPS post HTTP post alarm does not work in secure communication (HTTPS). TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5258): Diagnostic Make the url to diagnostic to be relative. 23 6.4. In TWinSoft OS TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5275): GSM GSM fails to connect to GPRS/3G when declaring a fix IP. Issue appeared with OS 1.35 and new implementation of PPP. TBox-LP450 (ref ): GSM + PIN code With PIN code, modem does not initialize, as of Due to a time too short. ModenPintime has been increased to 10 seconds for HiLo GSM used with LP450. TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref ): GSM Issue with close / start of PPP session, for instance when APN is not available. TWinSoft (ref. 5267): Setup Setup may fail due to disk1.cab not found. WebForm Studio 2.0 (ref. 5265): Display Depending on the Windows version, browser version, country of installation, Webforms 2.0 do not display anymore. Due to a verification on the content-length of the web file. WebForm Studio 2.0 (ref. 5261): Button Choice menu with Special characters (not LATIN) does not display in the browser. TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5275): InitSMS TBox crash if there is no +CPMS command (used to checked the different memories of SIM card). TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5257): OpenSSL Version 1.0.1r. TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5256): OpenVPN OpenVPN has been upgraded to version which supports TLS ver TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5255): ModBus Invalid timer handler message seen in log when the option Modbus TCP protection on socket is active. Corrected TWinSoft (ref. 5240): Conversion Wrong conversion of PT inputs. TWinSoft Release notes 23

24 WebForm Studio 2.0 (ref. 5239): iframe Event OnClick is not allowed on an iframe. It has been removed. TWinSoft (ref. 5236): TConnect Impossible to login when opening a document which is protected. TWinSoft (ref. 5234): Conversion Digital filtrers are not converted. TWinSoft (ref. 5233): Addons TWinSoft compares the version of the addon in TWinSoft directory in regards to the one in the directory of the application. When it is newer in TWinSoft directory a warning appears at compiltaiton in the Results window. WebForm Studio 2.0 (ref. 5232): Multistate Image Visibility level not handled properly on Multistate image object. TWinSoft (ref. 5230): Compilation Wrong max. calculation of SRam capacity: 1 Mb is 1024 * bytes. Instead of previously TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5228): ModBus Transactions Fails to read block of 62 Float and 125 Word. TWinSoft (ref. 5223): Automation Changing a Tag format 16bits to 32bits, one should adapt address to have an even address. TWinSoft (ref. 5222): Certificates With advice from the certifying company, the certificate of executables have been updated. As of January 1, 2017, old version will be blocked by Windows 7, 8,... TWinSoft (ref. 5219): Conversion Inactivity timeout of modem is not converted. TWinSoft (ref. 5214): Automation Driver OSC cannot be configured with an IP port. TWinSoft Release notes 24

25 TWinSoft (ref. 5211): Conversion from CPU3 Alarms with both edges (not available with LITE, MS, ) are not converted. A warning is generated in the log. One should create two alarms, one with positive edge, one with negative edge. TWinSoft (ref. 5210): Conversion Float variable with Initial value with decimal may not be converted properly according to regional settings of PC (decimal character). TWinSoft (ref. 5208): Conversion Conversion of Analog Input from LT -> LT2 does not keep the format of analog signals. TWinSoft (ref. 5207): Conversion Converting LT LT2, put a warning for relay which cannot be converted. TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5203): ModBus Transactions Improvement of TCP transactions in case of poor connection. TWinSoft (ref. 5199): Export TWinSoft hangs-up exporting Tags. TWinSoft (ref. 5182): Compilation Issue with compiling a program of CPU3 developed in TWinSoft TWinSoft (ref. 5180): Conversion Converting MS32 -MS32-S2, remove the message related to libraries which is useless. "This program uses 1 external library" "You need to convert theses libraries... blabla " TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5172): Alarm in Webform 2 An alarm can be ack'ed from the list of alarm in WF2. This is not possible when the system variable AlaCur has been tagged. TWinSoft (ref. 5171): Automation Phone number in Recipient is limited to 16 characters when it is allowed up to 20 characters in TWinSoft. 26 TWinSoft (ref. 5160): VPN Creating a VPN by right-clicking in the list, the option Import OpenVPN Configuration is missing. WebForm Studio 2.0 (ref. 5148): TagToWatch Script in TagToWatch is not executed when value is changed from a button. TWinSoft (ref. 5143): Alarms When a pager service is not available, TWinSoft generates an error opening any alarm recipient. WebForm Studio 2.0 (ref. 5116): Text Tag Depending on configuration of decimal character in localization setting in TWinSoft a. can be transformed in a, in a TExt Tag. TBox-MS32 / LT2 (ref. 5109): GSM Switch Off modem when o SIM card is detected. New Modem States: : Power Off (if available) in progress : Modem stopped and Powered Off (if available). TWinSoft (ref. 5102): DHCP Sending an application through an Ethernet port which is configured in DHCP, TWinSoft loses communication at the end of sending and TBox does not restart. TWinSoft (ref. 5082): Watch Window Sending Tag in Watch Window from Alarm Conditions does not always send the selected Tag. TWinSoft (ref. 5054): backup TWinSoft backup document not handled as expected. As of TWinSoft 11.06, the.tbk is saved before the.tws is saved. TWinSoft (ref. 5054): CPU3 When creating a new application with COM4, COM4 is always protected. TWinSoft (ref. 4984): Datalogging Some datalogging configuration is not saved when done from the Tag properties Datalogging. TWinSoft (ref. 4940): Automation CompileProgress callback's are not called in case of Plug&Go and Pack&Go. 28 WebForm Studio 2.0 (ref. 4755): Grid Format of Tags not respected like configured in Presentation. It concerns the number of decimals of Float and digital states. TWinSoft (ref. 4696): Report Unique file name of report does not support special characters, like. This might not be supported by FTP or Mail server. TWinSoft now puts a warning in the result tab when used. TWinSoft (ref. 4685): LP450 Wrong display of AI in the resources. AI Tagged does not appereared with the Analog logo in the resources. TWinSoft (ref. 4488): Conversion Inputs not always converted as Inputs, but as Outputs. TWinSoft (ref. 4404): Pack&Go After Pack&Go including libraries, TWinSoft indicates a difference between running application and the one opened, but nothing has changed. TWinSoft (ref. 4338): Cross Reference From the Watch Window you have now access to the Cross Reference menu by right-clicking the Tag. TWinSoft (ref. 3615): Simulation Mode One cannot write into validity bit of analog inputs when running TBox in simulation mode. TBox-MS16 (ref. ): TCPIP Provide API with TCP context for driver C.
