2 Document Introduction This document specifies the minimum platform requirements of the EDM for Sage ERP X3 R11 system. Sage ERP X3 Application Server Mail Server Fax Environment Scanner Hardware / Software Recommendations Barcode Printer 2

3 Server Configuration EDD The `core` EDD Settings include the authentication module (DbLogin) and software necessary to distribute documents. The minimum requirements for a server to run the core EDD Settings components are: Processor RAM Operating Systems Disk Space LAN Dual Core 2 GB Windows 2003 up to 2012 Server 32 or 64 bit. 141 Megabytes Min 100MB LAN to clients The minimum requirements for a client PC to run the core EDD Settings components are: Operating Systems Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 Disk Free Space 45 Megabytes 3

4 Server Configuration EDM The `core` EDM Settings include the authentication module (DbLogin) and a file repository* (DbArchive) to store the scanned / imported images. The minimum requirements for a server to run the core EDM Settings components are: Processor RAM Operating Systems Disk Space LAN SQL Server Oracle Server Dual Core 4 GB Windows 2003 up to 2012 Server 32 or 64 bit. 165 Megabytes Min 100MB LAN to clients 2003 or higher Windows only 11g or above *Average image size is 60K 100K per page: 20,000 pages per year = 2GIG of hard drive space. Installed to a SQL database preferably on the same server as the Sage ERP X3 installation. The minimum requirements for a client PC to run the core EDM Settings components are: Operating Systems Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 Disk Free Space 69 Megabytes 4

5 Server Configuration PIA The `core` PIA Settings include the authentication module (DbLogin), a file repository* (DbArchive) to store the scanned / imported images, an OCR module (ABBYY) and the services necessary to process images (DbCapture). The minimum requirements for a server to run the core PIA Settings components are: Processor RAM Operating Systems Disk Space LAN SQL Server only Quad Core 4 GB Windows 2003 up to 2012 Server 32 or 64 bit Gigabytes Min 100MB LAN to clients 2003 or higher *Average image size is 60K 100K per page: 20,000 pages per year = 2GIG of hard drive space. Installed to a SQL database preferably on the same server as the Sage ERP X3 installation. The minimum requirements for a client PC to run the core EDM Settings components are: Operating Systems Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 Disk Free Space 87 Megabytes 5

6 Server / Client configuration Viewing Images EDM for Sage ERP X3 by V1 has a component launched within the Sage ERP X3 interface (or externally if required) which is self-contained within the file structure of the system on port and on the Sage ERP X3 Application Server. E.g. It allows images scanned / imported into the Sage ERP X3 system to be viewed via a web browser. Web Server Provided Apache

7 Server Configuration Settings Documents which use the AUTO destination in X3 can be distributed via . In order to do this, it must be allowed to relay through an existing mail server. The minimum requirements for a server to allow mail relaying for EDM are: Mail Server Mail Client Supporting SMTP* delivery or MAPI Outlook 2003 Onwards * Authenticated SMTP supported and configured during installation by clicking Advanced on the mail setup stage. 8 Server Configuration Fax Settings Modems Documents which use the AUTO destination in X3 can be distributed via fax. The minimum requirements for a server to allow fax relaying for EDM are: Analogue Phone Line* Accessible via the modem present on the Sage ERP X3 Application Server to be used or a server connected to it. * If a number is to be dialled to get an outside line, this is configured during the installation process. See installation instructions. Fax modem To send faxes from EDM for Sage ERP X3 by V1, it requires a fax class 2 modem. Note that there is a difference between the class 2 and the class 2.0 the class 2.0 is not supported. Additionally, the US Robotics class 2 fax modem is not supported. We specifically recommend and support the following hardware: MultiModem ZDX desktop (model no. MT5656ZDX) details are available at This is a simple plug and play device and is available generally in the US, Canada and UK. 9 Client Configuration Scanning and Hardware In order to scan images into the system barcodes must be produced, attached to the document and scanned into the file repository. From here they can be accessed from any user authorised to use the system. The recommendations to allow image processing for EDM are: Scanner Barcode Printing Barcode Labels Image Format MFD Kodak recommended* Desktop or Network Connected Zebra GKD 420d Type A 55mm x 32mm** TIFF Grp IV 300dpi resolution TIFF Grp IV 300dpi resolution *Recommended Scanners Kodak i2400 range Kodak i2600 range Kodak i2800 range Kodak i2900 range If high volumes of scanned documents are anticipated or if barcodes will not be produced by the button on screen but by report or other means, Kofak VRS Elite is recommended. Kofax VRS Elite greatly increases the accuracy of barcode reading and improves throughput of documents into the EDM archive. Contact your sales representative for more information as this would incur an additional charge. Pre-requisites and recommended platforms for Barcode Printer: Zebra GKD 420d Printer is connected to USB port on a user workstation, or on a network print server device on any computer on the network (including Sage ERP X3 server) Scan-station is running Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 **Barcode Labels Larger barcodes can be used (to accommodate longer transaction numbers).
