1 DW2-U (HDT/HDX MODELS) HOW TO UPDATE SOFTWARE VERSION (Additional Step added for Software Update) See Step 16 Upgrading the software version is performed through the Customer's Menu and by the use of an MMC or SD Card. Follow the steps below. STEP What you do How you do it What you see 01 Obtain the MMC or SD card with the current Software Version. Note: There are two files to download and place on the MMC or SD Card. One for Software and one for IEEE Software. 1)Download the Software (both files) and load onto your own MMC or SD card. See HDT and HDX Upgrade Slot is Item (11) As shown in the Owner's Manual 02 Insert the MMC / SD card in the Software Update slot on the rear of the set. Insert the Card into the Update Slot by pushing the card all the way in until a click is heard. MMC or SD Card goes in with notch in the "Down" position. Card label faces to the right as viewed from the rear of the set. 03 Turn the Set On by pressing the Power Button After the set warms up, the Picture appears. At this point, the set can not be controlled via the Remote and/or side buttons. Continue with step 13. a. Turn the Power Off by using the "Master Power Switch" on the bottom of the set.

3 DW2-U (HDT/HDX MODELS) HOW TO UPDATE SOFTWARE VERSION (Page 3) Upgrade Now is Highlighted 09 Cursor Down until Upgrade Now is highlighted The Progress bar appears 10 Press SELECT 11 During this time a progress bar appears showing the Update process. Avoid any power interruption during this time. Note: Both files (Software Update and IEEE Update) are automatically installed during this process. The Reset The Software Menu Re-appears After update is complete the Upgrade Menu is seen, instructing you to unplug your TV. 12 Note that the Old Software version is still shown. At this point, the set can not be controlled via the Remote and/or side buttons. Continue with step 13. a. Turn the Power Off by using the "Master Power Switch" on the bottom of the set. (Same as unplugging the set). 13 b. Remove the MMC or SD card from the update Slot. c. Wait 5 to 10 seconds. d. Re-Apply AC power by turning on the "Master Power Switch" (Main Power).. 14 Return to Step 3 above and repeat steps 3 through 8. After returning to the Software Upgrade screen (Step 8), continue with step 15 below. Continued on Next Page (Page 3 of 5)

4 DW2-U (HDT/HDX MODELS) HOW TO UPDATE SOFTWARE VERSION (Page 4) The Reset The Software Menu Appears with the correct Version Number 15 At this point, check that the Software Version is now correct and should match the Software Version installed. Software Update is NOT complete. Now the Video Setting Must be Reset. 16 After performing the software update and resetting the TV by turning it off and back on with the master power switch, turn on the TV and copy down all applicable video settings you may have specially set for your TV (customer preferences). Audio, video, input labels, etc. for all inputs and day/night functions, etc. The following steps will erase these and by copying them down, you can reapply them easily. Exit this Menu and write down all pertinent information. Repeat steps 3 through 8 to return to the Reset the Software menu. 17 Cursor Down until Reset TV Settings is highlighted. Cursor Right and highlight Yes. 18 Turn TV off and back on using normal remote or front panel control This will do a factory Video & Audio reset. 19 Turn TV AC power off and back on by using Master Power switch located underneath the bottom edge of the TV. 20 Turn the TV back On. Cursor Left and highlight No. 21 Exit this Menu by pressing EXIT on the remote control Normal Picture returns 22 Return all customer's settings as written down in Step 16.
