4 DIVA8M Compact PAVA system - Master unit DIVA8M DIVA8M responds to public address requirements and Voice Alarm for small to medium installations. The DIVA8M Master unit houses: audio digital signal processing (DSP), a matrix, a digital message player, a fully monitored fireman microphone, amplifiers monitoring with switchover to backup amplifier and loudspeaker lines monitoring. It can process and route one PSSG2 security microphone console or up to eight cascaded PSM paging microphones and two 0 db audio inputs, plus one Mic/Line input, into 2 different channels (Music + Voice). Each input is fitted with volume controls and equalizers. All audio inputs feature contact and VOX activation (ideal when using the cordless microphone, for example). Up to 45 minutes of digital messages can be downloaded and recorded as WAV files directly from a computer into DIVA8M Master unit. Two messages can be played simultaneously in different zones. One of the messages can be used as a chime for the PSS paging console. Nine monitored alarm inputs making it possible to obtain the pre-programmed routings. Each DIVA8M Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit have eight output zones with a+b wiring. Each zone can be routed manually or automatically to one of the system s audio channels (Music and Voice). The number of zones can be extended up to 128 zones with DIVA8S Slave unit. The two Music channels can be switched ON/OFF in each zone separately. In case of Evacuation, the Music channel can be used as a second alarm channel. A DIVA8 system requires only one 2 channel amplifier (one for Music, one for Voice). The Music amplifier will act as a backup amplifier in case of a Voice amplifier failure. Each channel can handel up to 1000 W of audio power (100 V). From the front panels, the user can manually route the fireman microphone signal and three digital messages into the selected zones, adjust the audio level and switch (ON/OFF) the music in each zone separately. In case of evacuation, the zones attenuators are automatically bypassed. One output contact per zone (eight per unit) can be activated each time the zone is occupied with a source having a higher priority than the music (Alarm or microphone paging ) All DIVA components and peripherals are constantly monitored (without music interruption). All incidents are recorded into a data file which can be consulted on the DIVA8M Master unit display or on a PC. Also any detected faults and alarm status are signalled by general fault and alarm output contacts. A local loudspeaker enables selective listening to all the sources and the system s output signals. The setup of a DIVA8 System is realised through a PC computer and the DIVA8 System configuration software (Windows compatible). Access can be password-protected. The routing and the level of the music sources can be controlled directly from the PSS microphone. All these features make DIVA8 System the ideal solution for shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, museums and many other public places. 5 DIVA8 system DIVA8S Compact PAVA system - Slave unit DIVA8S / extension to DIVA8M DIVA8S is a Slave unit for the DIVA8M master unit. It increases the number of paging zones by 8 zones for each Slave unit added in the system. The maximum number of Slave units are 15, which means a complete system (master plus slaves) of up to 128 zones. The DIVA8S Slave unit also extends the amount of input and output contacts. It includes 9 alarm inputs triggered either by dry contact or voltage (software setting), 8 logic input contacts, 2 external fault input contacts and 8 output contacts. The DIVA8S Slave unit offers the same power capacity as the master unit being 1000 W of audio power (100 V) on each amplifier channel (voice and music). For maximum flexibility, the master unit amplifiers can share their power with all the slaves, or additional amplifier channels can be added to the system where more outputpower is needed. The 100 V amplifier signal is simply linked to slaves to create a 100 V signal bus. See figure 1 and 2 for wiring examples. All the zones and amplifier channels in the DIVA8 System can be constantly monitored (software setting). Like DIVA8M Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit can be directly supplied with 110 V-230 V or powered by 24 VDC as a battery backup. The DIVA8M Master unit and the DIVA8S Slave unit are linked using shielded CAT5 cable. As a part of the DIVA8 system, The DIVA8S Slave unit complies with current standards. 6 DIVA8 SYSTEM DIVA single channel and dual channel application The DIVA8M Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit are designed for entry level solutions. It provides a cost effective system when only paging or paging with BGM is required. The DIVA8 System concept utilises switched audio distribution from a single amplifier source to up to 128 loudspeaker groups. DIVA8M Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit have 4 different system solutions: Block-diagram #1 - DIVA8M Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit in SINGLE CHANNEL mode shows how DIVA8M Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit are connected to the amplifiers and to the loudspeaker lines using multiple slaves. 1.SINGLE-audio for Paging/Alert and Backup for small loads: In the 1000 Watt version, the PAGING/ALERT amplifier feeds the master zones and the slave zones using a link that carries the 100 Volt line output of the PAGING/ALERT amplifier. The BACK- UP amplifier is connected the same way. The BACK-UP amplifier must have the same power capacity as the PAGING/ALERT amplifier for backup in case of amplifier failure. This solution requires only 2 amplifiers. Block-diagram # 2 - DIVA8M Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit in DUALCHANNEL mode shows how DIVA8M Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit are connected to the amplifiers and to the loudspeaker 3. DUAL-audio for Paging/Alert and BGM/Backup for small loads: In the 1000 Watt version, the PAGING/ALERT amplifier feeds the master zones and the slave zones using a link that carries the 100 Volt line output of the PAGING/ALERT amplifier. The BGM/ BACK-UP amplifier is connected the same way. In such both amplifiers are providing paging and music at the same time to individual zones. The BGM/BACK-UP amplifier must have the same size as the PAGING/ALERT amplifier for back-up in case of amplifier failure. This solution requires only 2 amplifiers. 6 Public Address - Voice Alarm Single amplifier with single back-up Multiple amplifier with single back-up 1000 Watt System 3 x 1000 Watt System Single amplifier set Multiple amplifier sets 1000 Watt System 3 x 1000 Watt System 2.SINGLE-audio for Paging/Alert and Backup for higher loads: In the 3000 Watt version, the PAGING/ALERT amplifier feeds the master zones and the slave zones using a link that carries the 0 db audio output from the DIVA8M Master unit to the DIVA8S Slave units, feeding into additional amplifiers. 100 Volt line output of the slave amplifiers are switched to the zone of the DIVA8S Slave unit. The BACK- UP amplifier is only connected to the DIVA8M Master unit using a link that carries the 100 Volt line output of the Back-up amplifier the same way to the Slaves. In this configuration, the system only needs 1 Back-up amplifier that is shared over the multiple DIVA Master and Slave units. The BACK-UP amplifier must have the same power capacity as the largest PAGING/ALERT amplifier in the system for back-up in case of amplifier failure. This solution requires 2 amplifiers per DIVA8M Master unit and a single amplifier per DIVA8S Slave unit. 4. DUAL-audio for Paging/Alert and BGM/ Back-up for higher loads: In the 3000 Watt version, the PAGING/ALERT amplifier feeds the master zones and the slave zones using a link that carries the 0 db audio output from the DIVA8M Master unit to the DIVA8S Slave units, feeding into additional amplifiers. 100 Volt line output of the slave amplifiers are switched to the zone of the DIVA8S Slave unit. The MUSIC/BACK-UP amplifier is connected the same way. In this configuration amplifiers are providing paging and music simultaneously to individual zones. The BGM/BACK-UP amplifier must have the same power capacity as the PAGING/ALERT amplifier for back-up in case of amplifier failure. This solution requires 2 amplifiers per DIVA8 Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit.

7 DIVA8M system TERRACOM and Vox-Net IP-media software and IP-media streamers & accessories The combination of ATEÏS TERRACOM TCP/IP intercom with our comprehensive Vox-Net software will provide a whole new control and security environment. Users will have access to both intercom and paging features from the same call stations. Those call stations being either the PMIP-D or any PC in association with the PMIP-N station. VOX-NET with DIVA8 System Vox-Net IP-media software add the following features to the integration Audio server with MP3 message/musicfiles library. It can contain thousands of MP3 files for either background music or pre-recorded messages to be broadcasted into the TCP/IP network. Remote station status reporting global. Optional server and network redundancy. Visualization and recording (Log file) of events and Sinaps Remote systems faults. Additional IP-Media software and audio IP-media streamers: VNB, IP-media streamers VNB, IP-media streamers have been designed to suit simple point to point or point to multi-point audio and data gateways with no direct need for a PC. If you require media streaming for radio broadcasting, paging or a 2-way communication, the VNB will meet your needs. Each VNB provides 2 audio input and 2 audio output channels using fast SPEEX encoding or high quality MP3 encoding. Switching and indication contacts are provided for system interfacing and there is a webserver for direct configuration access. The ATEÏS VNB IP-media streamers enable low cost and low power audio distribution and communication using LAN or WAN (VPN). (Future SIP compatibility will provide internet connectivity for VOIP applications). 8 SYSTEM example # 1 High rise buildings with distributed sound for multi-zone paging 80 zones vertical cabling backbone This tutorial describes a PAVA system, VACIE, which is used for voice evacuation with an automatic link to a fire-panel system, FACIE, for high rise building applications with multizone paging requirements. The DIVA concept represents a reliable and affordable system solution. The system consists of a central rack that contains all equipment including: DIVA8M Master unit and 9 pcs. of DIVA8S Slave units, covering an 80 zones background music and selective paging and voice evacuation system. From the central rack, a multi-pair cable transports the audio to the multiple zones with variable loads. The DIVA8M Master unit provides the fireman s operating section on the central paging facility rack and a touch-screen multi-zone paging and control console. This part of the system is also linked to the FACIE. 8 Public Address - Voice Alarm The DIVA8M Master unit is linked with the DIVA8S Slave units using a secured link over RJ45. Two powerful 1000 Watt amplifiers provide signals for paging and background music. The background music amplifier is also used as back-up amplifier in case of an amplifier failure. This unique concept guarantees savings on rack assembly and amplifier power. The paging console is connected via a secured dedicated link with the central equipment racks. A TCP/IP link from the main system to the SERVICE area is meant for maintenance use and remote access. The paging desk can do all-call and zoned call announcements and has a monitor loudspeaker in the unit for system monitoring. The DIVA System concept stands for a reliable and affordable system solution where each building has its own FACIE linked to the VACIE consisting of a DIVA8M Master unit with amplifiers and battery backup facilities. The system consists of 4 individual PAVA equipment sets that are linked over IP. A server with special software,vox- Net, surveys the audio/data connections between the 4 sub systems and the IP-paging facilities. Vox-Net - IP media software also provides surveyed intercom stations to be included into the system and provides multi-channels BGM. The standalone DIVA8M Master unit provides the fireman s operating section on the central paging facility rack and a touch-screen multi-zone paging and control console. This part of the system is also linked to the FACIE. Depending on the situation, digital power amplifiers are used; 4 x 125 W, 4 x 250 Watt or 1 x 1000 W. DIVA8M Master unit and DIVA8S Slave unit only need 2 amplifiers. One for Paging and one for BGM/Back-up. The background music amplifier is also used as back-up amplifier in case of an amplifier failure. This unique concept warrantees savings on rack assembly and amplifier power. The paging consoles, PSS-G2 and PSM8 are connected via a secured dedicated link with the central equipment racks. When multiple PSM8 s are used into one DIVA8M Master unit, only the first one, master, can be used for security purposes. The remaining ones, slaves, are not surveyed. A TCP/IP link from the main system to the SERVICE area is meant for maintenance use and remote access. The paging console can do all calls and zone-calls and has a feedback loudspeaker in the unit for system monitoring. 9

It works autonomously and its single unit comprises: Audio digital signal processing (DSP), a digital message player, amplifiers monitoring with switchover to backup amplifier, and loudspeaker lines monitoring. It can support 1 PSS849 security microphone console with touchpad and can process and route another four 0 db audio inputs into 4 different zones. Each channel is fitted with volume control, equalizers, and a programmable delay. Each 0 db input features contact and VOX activation (ideal when using the cordless microphone, for example). Four digital messages can be recorded through audio inputs or downloaded as WAV files directly from a computer into IDA. A security message is pre programmed in 4 languages. IDA4 Compact unit is fitted with 4 alarm inputs and 4 input contacts making it possible to obtain pre programmed routings. The 4 output contacts can be used to disable the 100 V line attenuators. As an Voice Alarm security system, all IDA4 Compact unit functions and peripherals are monitored. All incidents are recorded into a data file which can be consulted on the display screen. Also any detected faults are signalled by a general fault output contact. A local loudspeaker output enables selective listening to the messages and the system s 100 V output signals. 11 IDA4 system IDA4M(s) and IDA4XM(s) Stackable PAVA system - MASTER & SLAVE UNIT IDA4M / IDA4XM / Master unit IDA4Ms / IDA4XMs / Slave unit IDA4M /XM Product range responds to Public Address requirements and EN compliance for medium and large scale installations. It comprises the cascading of an IDA4M Master unit and one or several IDA4Ms/XMs Slave units. This module assembly extends the system s capacity to 288 inputs x 256 outputs. Each module unit houses: Audio digital signal processing (DSP), a matrix, a digital message player, amplifiers monitoring with switchover to backup amplifier, and loudspeaker lines monitoring. Each module can support 1 PSSDT security microphone console or up to 16 cascaded PSM8 microphone consoles and can process and route another four 0 db audio inputs into 4 different zones. Each channel is fitted with volume controls, equalizers, and a programmable delay. Each 0 db input feature contact and VOX activation (ideal when using the cordless microphone, for example). Up to 12 digital messages can be downloaded and recorded as WAV files directly from a computer into IDA4M/XM and IDA4Ms/XMs. Four messages can be played simultaneously in different zones. Several IDA4 System racks can be remotely controlled from a remote location. A MODBUS protocol allows third party system to control IDA4M/XM over a serial link. We now proudly introduce a new system that perfectly integrates Fire-Alarm with Voice-Alarm according to the EN (VACIE&FACIE), BS 5839-part 8 and ISO ATEÏS has developed and will continue developing dedicated systems for Voice-Alarm applications. The IDA8 is a third generation modular system that complies with current architectural demands requiring IP-and/or Fiber-optics Networking to cover for any complex design possible. IDA8 responds to Public Address and Voice Alarm requirements as stated in EN 54-16, ISO and BS 5839/8, with specific attributes for compliance in large installations. This solution is based on switched audio distribution from a single amplifier into a large number of groups. Besides the switching solution, IDA8 System can create combinations where single-zoned amplifiers are combined with multi-zoned amplifiers. One amplifier is used for the PAGING/ALERT signals, the other one for the BGM and the BACK-UP function. The BGM/BACK-UP amplifier must have the same size as the PAGING/ALERT amplifier for amplifier back-up in case of an amplifier failure. This solution requires only 2 amplifiers per IDA8SAB Slave unit. IDA8C Controller unit is linking multi zoned amplifiers over multiple IDA8 Slave units. The 2 amplifiers that are used in the multi-zoned amplifier section are serving zone 9 up to 24 having 2 amplifiers only. One amplifier is used for the PAGING/ALERT signals, the other one for the BGM and the BACK-UP function. Because of the requested load in this example, the channels 1 to 8 have their own two multi-zoned amplifiers. 17 IDA8 system NET-Lx ATEÏS Net Secured Audio Network - EN Networking Card The IDA8 System is made for medium to large sized installations, such as shopping malls, retail stores, trainstations, airports, etc. The IDA8 System has an open design architecture and interfaces with remote devices such as paging consoles, audio break-in and break-out convertors and room-controllers. ATEÏS has developed its own audio networking system ATEÏS-Net The systems architecture is based on two redundant daisychain methodes. A so called Local Network and a so called Global Network. - The LOCAL Network (NET-Lx) daisy-chains up to 31 IDA8S(AB) Slave units with one IDA8C Controller unit, creating a true audio matrix of 256 x 256 over a full redundant Local Network. - The GLOBAL Network daisy-chains up to 32 Controllers IDA8C Controller units over a GIGA bit open network. 21 IDA8 system system example # 7 Railway information PAVA system This example describes a PAVA system, VACIE, that is used for voice evacuation with an automatic link with LOCAL firepanel system, FACIE, for a railway application or any system where security needs to be combined with multiple remotely positioned standalone PA facilities over IP. In the contrary to the examples 6, 7 and 8, this system does not contain a central equipment rack. The whole setup is based on multiple standalone and self-supporting PA-VA systems that are linked over a dedicated TCP/IP-Network. Each system has a link to the local FACIE and contains a secured paging facility with power back-up. From other remote positions, general and selective calls can be made or automated messages can be played simultaneous over the TCP/IP-Network using Vox-Net multi-point IP-media software that runs on a redundant PC with a back-up location elsewhere on the network. Redundancy is a very widely-spread expression that needs to be further specified into a required level of redundancy. In normal PAVA systems where other communication means are available, spare amplifiers and surveillance of essential components is more than enough. Higher levels of redundancy may require for A/B wiring of the loudspeaker lines where loss of the A or B line or system still ensures a minimum coverage of 50% of the venue. (Such requirement is detailed described in the BSI part 8). But even that could not be enough in situations where the PAVA is the only and last means of communication. In this case an even higher level of redundancy may be required. At this level, not only the amplifiers have redundancy by means of active spare amplifiers, also the central equipment will have a full back-up. This is what we call: Full-Redundancy. SPA x 240 Watt AB Class amplifier The SPA amplifiers were specifically developed to meet the requirements of EN for safety installations. Each amplifier module is fitted with its own 220 VAC/24 VDC power supply for increased system reliability. To avoid handling errors, the volume output is set using the potentiometer located at the rear of the amplifier. Further to standard protection via fuses, SPA amplifiers also have electronic and thermal protection to protect them from potential hazards. A ventilator provides forced cooling for the final power shelves and internal parts of the amplifier. It starts up automatically when the heat shunt reaches a certain temperature threshold, and stops when the temperature returns to normal values. 31 ATEIS STUDIO Integrated Software Platform ATEÏS STUDIO user friendly Graphical User AteÏs-Studio allows complete audio systems with a multitude of similar or different devices to be configured, supervised and controlled centrally from a single user interface. AteÏs-Studio supports all IP-based products with the AteÏs product family such as IDA, LAP, Messenger and Terracom. ATEÏS-Studio is ready for future expansion in conjunction with new ATEÏS products. ATEÏS-Studio also offers control and configuration for power amplifiers, microphone consoles and IP-remote controllers such as PSS-G2E, URC200. It supervises, controls, logs and reports. The whole system configuration can be stored and reloaded at the push of a button (Preset), depending upon the application. Customers can design their own graphic user interface or control panel(s) as well as program automatic sequences (Events) and create different levels of user groups. (Security). AteÏs-Studio provides a complete set of tools and building blocks for real-time control, monitoring and design of an audio system or Voice Evacuation system from paging desk to loudspeaker. Detailed information such as signal levels, loudspeaker impedance, pre-recorded messages, amplifier conditions and other parameters can be monitored in real-time. A library of control and monitoring elements, (GUI) graphical user interface, are provided and includes items such as volume control faders, various metering, high level EQ, Compression, Limiting, Auto-Gain, Noise-sensing, Mixing, quick-buttons and display elements. The behaviour of these elements are completely configurable for customer control design. The combination of these GUI tools allows a user to create a control surface that is effective, easy to operate regardless of the user s technical knowledge. Additional security is available through the use of password protected layers according to the EN Multiple users can be created within AteÏs-Studio, each with a unique password and access to specific layers of the GUI.
