2 1 Overview Upstream applications such as well test, allocation measurement, production optimization, and well pad control require gas and liquids flow measurement. The Realflo Gas & Liquids Flow Computer running on the SCADAPack Smart RTU meets these requirements. The Flow Computer and SCADAPack RTU combination also provides for robust and cost-effective gas measurement and control in gathering, midstream, and gas transmission applications. The flow computer software is a load-able run-time application that adds gas and/or liquids flow computation to SCADAPack Smart RTUs. At the same time, the RTU retains its inherent logic programmability for associated control and monitoring in applications such as production optimization, well pad control, and flow control. SCADAPacks are available with the flow computer application pre-loaded, or the application may be loaded later as field requirements dictate. The companion Realflo configuration utility is a Windows based application providing an intuitive and convenient environment for configuration, diagnostics, and field capture of gas or liquid flow data. Calibration and configuration wizards make setup, field calibration, and verification easy and effective. The API 1.1 and 1. compliant audit trails and flow calculations facilitate data capture and reporting for liquids or gas custody transfer flow measurement. Multi-variable sensor/transmitters such as the SCADAPack 03 and 10 provide high accuracy measurement of temperature, differential pressure, and static pressure. The SCADAPack 03 combines high accuracy multi-variable measurement, a SCADAPack RTU, and the flow computer, within a single x-proof housing. Flow run combinations on the 03 include either gas runs, or 1 gas + 1 liquid + 1 water run; making the 03 a natural fit for two or three phase separator measurement applications. The rugged 10 Modbus multi-variable transmitter provides the same high accuracy measurement and when communicating over RS-85 or Ethernet with a SCADAPack, a scalable multi-run flow computer is realized. Any application requiring liquid or gas flow measurement, and an RTU or PLC for local control, is a candidate for automation with a Realflo-enabled SCADAPack. 3 1 For Liquids measurement, Realflo utilizes API 11 calculations for CTL and CPL (temperature and pressure compensation). Well test is facilitated with start/stop batch style measurement for both liquids and gas with storage of up to 00 batch or well test summary records. Hourly and daily records for use in continuous measurement applications also indicate which hourly records correspond to a specific well test. APPLICATIONS Upstream gas and liquid production measurement and automation Production optimization Separator measurement Allocation and proration measurement Natural gas measurement in mid stream and gas transmission NOC (Net Oil Computation) is computed for liquid runs on two or three phase separators or direct well production measurement. Net oil and water is established using inferred water cut with Coriolis meters, or using direct measurement with on-line water cut meters. For gas measurement, Realflo provides AGA-3 orifice plate, AGA-7 turbine/ pulse meter flow measurement, V-Cone, Wafer Cone, and AGA-11 Coriolis, with AGA-8 detailed compressibility calculations. Flow history includes 35 days of hourly and daily averages, 700 user changes and events, as well as 300 process alarms for a API 1.1 and/or 1. compliant audit trail. The Realflo flow computer supports Modbus and EFM (Enron) Modbus as native communication protocols. These industry-recognized protocols provide communication to many SCADA host systems, including ClearSCADA, OASyS, and Wonderware Archestra from Schneider Electric.

4 13 & Benefits Cost Effective SCADAPack flow computers combine configurable oil, gas, and water calculations in one controller that also provides PLC style programmability for associated applications. Multi-variable sensors for high accuracy measurement of DP, SP, and T (Differential Pressure, Static Pressure, and Temperature) are available with this same extensible functionality, within a single x-proof housing. The SCADAPack 03 one box solution reduces installed costs with reduced wiring, and contributes to improved reliability and reduced downtime through distributed automation in upstream facilities. Easy Configuration The Realflo configuration application provides configuration wizards to guide operator entry and facilitate creation of configuration templates. User-created templates allow for rapid installation of multiple sites with common configurations by preconfiguration of the common settings. Installers can then concentrate on the site specific configurations. This approach speeds up configuration and helps to reduce configuration errors. Flexible Liquid flow history includes user-defined records for recording of data not already included in the standard flow computer QTRs (Quantity Transaction Records). Gas and Liquid flow run data is supported with Well test (batch) QTRs. Liquid or water run QTRs each include 5 assignable user records. Gas flow applications associated with storage facilities benefit from bi-directional flow measurement. Realflo allows for configuration of bi-directional logical or physical flow runs. Regulatory Compliant Flow history record types include well test (batch start/stop) summary records, and 35 days of auditable hourly and daily records compatible with API 1.1 and/or API Well Test (batch) Records 300 alarms 700 events Hourly records may be used in association with continuous measurement and are also identified as being associated with specific well tests as applicable. Extensible The flow computer is configured without the need for programming, however it may be complimented with companion applications from Schneider-Electric or others. Companion applications such as production optimization, flow control, or well test, may be developed in a choice of Ladder Diagrams, IEC , or C/C++. Wide Product Range Realflo supports API 11.x calculations for multiple products including crude, NGLs*, and produced or injected water. Configurable Modbus Polling Liquids flow runs include automatic configurable polling of Coriolis meters/transmitters including Foxboro CFT51, E&H Promass 83, Micro Motion 700 MVD and F Series Sensors. Polling includes meter diagnostics information, phase flow indication (when available), and 5 user assignable registers for read or write access to the Coriolis meter transmitter. If the gas transmission option is enabled, gas flow runs support automatic configurable polling of Gas Chromatographs (G.C.s) using the Daniels SIM-51 Modbus mapping. *NGLs Natural Gas Liquids

5 Calibration Wizard Operator guidance is provided by the calibration wizard during calibration of attached 03 or 10 digital transmitters. Calibration events are included in the flow history audit trail including as-found and as-left records. Remote Access The Realflo Flow Computer is accessible locally or remotely using Modbus or EFM Modbus. Modbus allows for remote flow computer configuration, retrieval of flow computer history and alarms, upgrades to SCADAPack firmware, and upgrades to the flow computer application. Common configuration changes such as orifice plate changes, gas quality updates, and clock synchronization are efficiently accommodated with simple SCADA host-initiated interaction. Local Retrieval of Flow Data When an operator is at the site, or in cases where communication with a SCADA host computer is not possible, the Realflo configuration application may be used to retrieve flow history data and configuration. This data may be exported using a tamper resistant XML file format, or CFX export files. Local access to the flow computer for data and diagnostics, benefits from a rapid and easy connection when using USB as no configuration is required by the operator in order to establish communications. 6 15 SCADAPack Hardware Platform The Realflo flow computer runs in the following SCADAPack RTUs: The SCADAPack 100 is a 1-run gas flow computer suited for EFM applications requiring small amounts of IO with capability for extended control and monitoring. The SCADAPack 300 smart RTU offers a 3-bit CPU, 100baseT Ethernet, Modbus over USB, and measures up to flow runs offered in combinations of gas, liquid and water runs. Consult the specifications table for details. The SCADAPack 3 is a high-powered RTU supporting up to 10 gas flow runs. The SCADAPack 3P is the processor-only version and is suited for locations where local I/O is not required. With Ethernet capability, the SCADAPack 3 and 3P are ideal candidates for LAN applications including those that utilize Ethernet radio. The SCADAPack 03 is a tightly integrated gas and liquids flow computer incorporating a multivariable sensor and a complete Smart RTU. It can be used in a wide range of process control applications including: well optimization, pressure control, odorant injection and more. Coupled with a second multivariable transmitter, the SCADAPack 03 can be used as a two-run gas flow computer. The SCADAPack 10 Modbus Multivariable Transmitter, while not including a Flow Computer, is an integral component of the Realflo EFM system. The 10 measures differential pressure, static pressure and temperature and makes the data available over serial and/or Ethernet communications. Realflo instances running in SCADAPack RTUs have the facility for configuration and polling of 10s.

7 16 Realflo Configuration Utility The Realflo Configuration Utility operates on a PC running Windows, and is used to download and configure the Realflo Flow Computer. The Realflo Configuration Utility allows on-line or off-line configuration of the flow run operating parameters. History and event data may be uploaded from the flow computer and exported in tamper resistant XML, CFX, or CSV formats. This utility offers a user-friendly environment that is intuitive for any user familiar with Windows. The Realflo Configuration Utility can also configure the SCADAPack RTU s operational parameters, including communication port settings, I/O register assignment, real time clock and DNP settings, and provides a utility to automatically scale any SCADAPack process I/O. Realflo offers two modes of operation. The Expert Mode provides access to configuration and flow history data. The Maintenance Mode provides a simplified interface to enable fast access to common functions and configurations for field personnel. The wizard within the Maintenance Mode of Realflo makes scheduled maintenance functions such as calibration, history downloads, plate change and gas analysis update, easy and intuitive. Modbus Multi-Variable Transmitter Integration The Realflo Configuration Utility allows users to completely configure and calibrate any SCADAPack multi-variable transmitter. This feature greatly simplifies installation and maintenance when multiple transmitters are connected to one SCADAPack. Automatic Audit Trail and Log Retrieval The Realflo Configuration Utility s unique scripting capability allows users to automatically retrieve the data required by API 1.1 and API 1. audit trail requirements. Scripts may be launched from an HMI or Windows scheduler with data being saved in Realflo binary format as well as standard CSV or CFX files. User Defined Events Relay Ladder Logic or C/C++ programs can store custom events in the flow computer event log, along with previous and new values. This capability is particularly valuable to record special events that are not normally part of the flow computer operations. Examples could include communication error events and process alarm conditions. Tamper Resistant XML Export Realflo provides an option to export flow history data, alarms, events, and configuration in an XML file that is tamper resistant against changes with an embedded checksum. The file integrity can then be verified later when the file is imported at the host as an indication that the file contains unaltered data as collected from the flow computer.
