3 When and Why Targets? Every day Cloud to Cloud Registration is becoming very popular but targets are still necessary for the next cases Geometries that cannot be registered Cloud to Cloud. Some Industrial Plants. Sometimes in big projects. When we are scanning objects. 3

12 How to place the targets What are we doing to register scans? Helmert 3D: Tx, Ty, Tz, ω,ϕ,κ. Reverse intersection: targets in the first scan references for the second scanner Number of targets to align two scans or clusters. Minimum: 2 targets + tilt sensor (activated) Helmert 3D: Tx, Ty, Tz, ω,ϕ,κ. Recommended: 3 or more targets 12
