1 The Worldspan Go! SM Home Page Windows 95 Quick Reference The home page displays when you start your computer. This screen is continuously updated with new information. The figure below is intended to show basic screen layout only. Window Control Buttons Reservations Manager Menu Links Site Map Item Window Control Buttons Reservations Manager Menu Links Site Map Description Lets you minimize, restore, or close the active window. Provides access to Worldspan Reservations Manager. Provides access to information on available classes, online tutorials, Worldspan, and customer services. If you are not familiar with Windows 95 and Worldspan Go!, we recommend that you take the Windows 95 with Worldspan Go! Tutorial (see page 4). Displays an outline (with links) to all available topics in Worldspan Go! Displays a button for each open application (active and inactive). The Start button lets you perform tasks such as opening applications (or programs), shutting down your computer, and accessing Windows 95 Help Worldspan, L.P REV1
2 Windows 95 WORLDSPAN The Windows 95 Desktop The desktop displays when all applications are closed or minimized. You can manually display the desktop by pressing <CTRL>+<ESC> then <ALT> + <M>. You can also press + M if the key appears on your keyboard. Icons Item Description My Computer is a Windows 95 application used to quickly browse for files and folders without viewing a hierarchy. My Computer Network Neighborhood shows computers that are connected to a workgroup or neighborhood. Network Neighborhood Recycle Bin is a storage area for unwanted files. When you delete a file, it goes to the Recycle Bin first. Recycle Bin Internet Explorer provides access to Worldspan Go! and the Internet. Internet Explorer Page 2 of 8
3 WORLDSPAN Windows 95 My Briefcase provides remote connectivity and automated updates of files. My Briefcase Worldspan for Windows provides access to Worldspan Reservations Manager 4.1. Worldspan for Windows The includes a button for each open application (active and inactive). The Start button lets you perform tasks such as opening applications (or programs), shutting down your computer, and accessing Windows 95 Help. Procedures To Access Worldspan for Windows (if open): 1 If you are working in Worldspan Go! click the spinning globe image. -or- If you are not in Worldspan Go!, move your mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen so that the displays. 2 If the Worldspan for Windows button appears on the, click once on this button. -or- If the Worldspan for Windows button does not appear on the, follow the To Access Worldspan for Windows (if not open) procedure, below. To Access Worldspan for Windows (if not open): 1 If you are in Worldspan Go!, click the spinning globe image. -or- On the desktop, double click on the Worldspan for Windows icon. (If you are working in another program, you may need to minimize the current window so you can see the desktop.) 2 In the password box, type: WSPAN 3 Press the <ENTER> key. 4 Sign into the system. The Internet Explorer program appears with Worldspan Go! displayed. (If Worldspan Go! is not displayed, click the home button on the Internet Explorer toolbar.) -or- If the Worldspan for Windows button does not appear on the, go to the To Access Worldspan Go! (if not open) procedure below. To Access Worldspan Go! (if not open): On the desktop, double click on the Internet Explorer icon. The Internet Explorer program appears with Worldspan Go! displayed. (If you are working in another program, you may need to minimize the current window so you can see the desktop.) To Access the Windows 95 with Worldspan Go! Online Tutorial 1 Access Worldspan Go!. 2 At the Worldspan Go! home page, click on Worldspan Training. 3 Click on Online Training. 4 Click on Windows 95 with Worldspan Go! to start the tutorial. 5 WORLDSPAN Windows 95 To Access Windows 95 Help 1 Click on the Start button 2 Click on Help. 3 The Help Topics Dialog Box displays as shown below. Contents Tab Answers to common questions about Winodws 95 3 Select a topic on the Contents tab. The topics shown under Introducing Internet Explorer appear when you double-click on Introducing Internet Explorer. To Shut Down your Windows 95 PC: Check with your manager to verify your agency s policy for shutting down your PC. If you should shut down your PC, follow these steps: 1 Close all active programs. 2 On the desktop, click once on the Start button 3 Move the mouse to the Shut Down option. 4 Select the Shut down the computer? option. 5 Click on the YES button. Your PC begins to shut down. 6 The message It s now safe to turn off your computer displays. Turn off your PC. Page 5 of 8
6 Windows 95 WORLDSPAN Buttons, Tools, and Shortcut Keys Control Buttons Button Description Alternate Method Close: Use the Close button to close the current window. Press <ALT> + <F4> Editing Tools Maximize: Use the Maximize button to enlarge the current window to a full screen. Minimize: Use the Minimize button to shrink the current window down to a button on the. Restore: Use the Restore button to window to its default size. Button Description Alternate Method Copy: Use the Copy button to place a copy of selected files, folders, or data on the Clipboard for later use. Cut: Use the Cut button to remove selected files, folders, or data and place them on the Clipboard for later use. Delete: Use the Delete button to delete the currently selected files, folders, or data. Paste: Use the Paste Button to place a copy of the files, folders, or data currently stored on the Clipboard in a new location. Undo: Use the Undo button to reverse an action that you have just performed. Press <CTRL> + <C> Press <CTRL> + <X> Press <DELETE> Press <CTRL> + <V> Press <CTRL> + <Z> Viewing Tools Button Description Details: Use the Details button to view detailed file information, such as name, size, type, and date modified. Large Icons: Use the Large Icons button to view large icons and hide detailed folder and file information. List: Use the List button to view small icons in vertical rows without file details. Properties: Use the Properties button to display the properties of the current object, such as file type, location, size, and date created. Small Icons: Use the Small Icons button to view small icons in horizontal rows without file details. Up One Level: Use the Up One Level button to display the next higher directory level. Page 6 of 8

8 Windows 95 WORLDSPAN Managing Files My Computer Windows Explorer Folder Folder Tree Browsing Expand Folder Icon Minimize Folder Icon My Computer is a Windows 95 application used to quickly browse for files and folders without viewing a hierarchy. Windows Explorer is a Windows 95 application that lets you work with files and folders in a folder tree or hierarchy format. It is similar to File Manager in previous versions of Windows. A folder contains files that are usually related by type, purpose, or application. Folders are similar to directories in previous versions of Windows. The folder tree or hierarchy is the system of grouping files within folders and subfolders for better organization and access. Browsing is a way to find files by navigating through folders on the computer. Use the expand folder icon to reveal all the folder levels contained within a folder on the folder tree. Use the minimize folder icon to collapse all the folder levels contained within a folder on the folder tree. Help Contents Index Find The Contents tab provides options for browsing Help topics that are grouped in categories. The Index tab provides options for finding Help topics based on headings. It is the fastest way to get Help. The Find tab provides options for searching a database of terms and phrases in Help files. It is the most thorough way to get Help. Accessories Microsoft WordPad Microsoft Notepad Microsoft Paint Use WordPad to create, edit, and view text files that contain graphics and minor formatting. Use Notepad to create or edit text files that do not require formatting and are smaller than 64K. Use Paint to create, edit, and view graphics. System Shut Down Shut Down Restart the Computer Use the Shut Down command on the Start menu to display a dialog box of options for closing Windows 95.
