To be educated to A level standard in English Language OR equivalent work experience requiring the use of English Language to that level. Desirable Where available, elements that contribute to improved / immediate performance in the job. A. To hold a qualification relating to Cyber Security or Computer Technology or experience in the workplace of working with network intrusions, IT security or Cyber Security issues Work Experience: 2. Work experience of engaging with multi-agency partners 3. Ability to understand detailed technical procedures, projects and policies 4. Demonstrate ability to work in the cyber and digital environment and knowledge of the practical challenges this presents. 5. Experience working with anti-virus systems and Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) tools B. Attended security and cyber security related courses C. An investigative policing background and be able to identify evidential opportunities to advise on preservation requirements in support of future criminal prosecutions. D. Experience of working in support of PROTECT and PREVENT strands of the Crime Strategy. E. Experience of using statistical data and monitoring information.

3 ROLE DESCRIPTION Job title: Post no: Grade 6 Scale: Responsible to: Responsible for: Contacts: Cyber PROTECT Officer Detective Inspector n/a Members of the public, officers and police staff employees of UK law enforcement agencies and employees of the criminal justice system members of the business community and partner agencies. Role: To support Leicestershire in ensuring a consistent approach in delivering cyber security advice in accordance with both PROTECT and PREVENT strands under the Cyber Crime Control Strategy. To work with colleagues providing a networked capability across the Cyber PROTECT Community in delivering a consistent approach to tackle the Cyber threat in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Duties Responsibilities Operational: 1. To provide specialist support to law enforcement in identifying and coordinating emerging threats and trends by engaging with the public and private sector as well as regional partners to prepare for, prevent and respond to incidents of cyber-crime/attacks. 2. To provide protective security and preparedness advice to business (both large organisations and Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs)), academia and law enforcement in relation to the threat from cybercrime. 3. To identify and assess those individuals / organisations that might be vulnerable to cyber criminals or cyber-attack Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. 4. To share best practice identified with partners agencies, commercial partners and professional contacts to minimise the risk of harm and thus ensure that future criminal opportunities are minimised and crime reduced. 5. To work closely with representatives of trade organisations and cyber security experts to ensure cyber security advice is incorporated in general crime prevention regimes. 6. To work with established programs in national, regional and local areas 7. Assist in implementing effective external and internal communication strategies aimed at delivering PROTECT and PREVENT messaging to the public and private sector and law enforcement partners. 8. Deliver appropriate awareness events to ensure effective, consistent and detailed information is made available to the appropriate communities. 9. To identify partners who can contribute to developing our understanding of the risk factors and identify interventions that could prove successful in diverting individuals at risk of engaging in cyber related criminal conduct in the spirit of and support of the document titled Individuals at risk of
