Overview Due to popular demand, we have upgraded our WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You- Get) editor. Some of the advantages of the new WYSIWYG editor are: Automatic spell-checker! Provides better importing from Word and other documents. Ability to drag-and-drop images from your computer into the editor, making uploading much easier. Higher quality HTML code is produced, which means your information is more accurately displayed. Better handling of table rows, columns and cells. Better un-do and re-do operations. More font choices and better size choices. Ability to insert objects, such as Flash, QuickTime Movies, Windows Media, etc. Provides word and character counter statistics. Ability to format bulleted and numbered lists. Additional tools such as document navigator, format painter, insert date and time, insert comment, and show paragraph markers. More responsive popup windows (color pickers, etc.) Superscript, subscript and strike-through character formats now supported. Online searchable help document. Ability to run on any web browser that supports the popular programming language Java (java.sun.com). Therefore, it can run on Microsoft Windows, Apple Macs, Linux and Unix. Supported browsers include Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. Ability to run inside our web pages. This means the editor is actually embedded into the page you are editing. There is no need to open another popup window to use the editor. However, you can still open the editor into its own window if you want. Ability to support custom web forms. (future enhancement) This should provide a greatly improved user experience. The next sections explain the system requirements and what to do if things don t work as expected.

2 System Requirements The new Java WYSIWYG editor requires two things to operate: 1) The latest version of Java must be installed and running on your computer To see if Java is properly installed, go to and click the "Verify Installation" button. It should come back and display "Verified Java Version, Congratulations!" and will give you the Java version number. If this is the case, then Java is installed and running. If not, follow the directions given to install Java. 2) You must accept the security warning dialog that pops up the first time The first time you open a page that contains the Java WYSIWYG editor, a security dialog will popup. You must accept this certificate for the editor to work. See Figure 1: Security Warning. If you prefer to use the older WYSIWYG editor, you can: a) Click the "Edit my options" selection in the "I want to" list box (top-right side of page) b) Select the "Old WYSIWYG" option and then click Save. Note: This editor will eventually be phased out.

Step 1 of 5: Open the Windows Control Panel. (Typically: Start > Settings > Control Panel) Double-click the Java icon.

7 Step 2 of 5: The Java Control Panel opens. Click the About button.

8 Step 3 of 5: The About Java dialog box opens and displays the current version. The version shown below is 1.6.0_03-b05. Close this dialog box.

9 Step 4 of 5: Click the Update tab on the Java Control Panel window. Ensure that the Check for Updates Automatically checkbox is checked. Click the Update Now button. If your Java version is up-to-date, the following message is displayed:
