1 MOVITHERE USB OVERVIEW Movithere-USB version was designed to move server or workstation objects, files, folders, shares and security between unconnected Windows servers or workstations. Movithere USB is available in 3 formats: a downloadable version ready to be copied to and used on any USB device, a preconfigured 128 Gb USB 3 Key or a 4T USB 3 external hard drive. Movithere-USB enables the operator to optionally copy users, user properties, user passwords, local groups, local group members, files, folders, shares, NTFS, and share permissions from any version of windows server or workstation to the USB device and from the USB device to any windows server or workstation and maintain access. No physical or network connection is required. Movithere-USB supports Windows Servers 2000, 2003, 2008(R2), 2012(R2), 2016 either 32 or 64 bit as well as Windows XP, VISTA, 7, 8, 8.1 or Windows 10 workstations 32 or 64 bit. Before You begin Before you begin you will need to know the UNC name of each server, domain or workgroup NetBIOS name, IP address and operating system s bit-type. 2 PREMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS Movithere-USB Download Version Before you begin, download the Movithere-USB download from the website as indicated on your purchase confirmation . Unzip the MovithereUSBvXXX.zip file to the root of the USB device you will be using to perform the non-connect migrations. All files will be extracted as well as folders X64 and X32. Before you Begin The operator of the software must be a member of the local Administrators group to perform the migration on every server or workstation the Movithere-USB software is run on. In order to migrate users with passwords, Antivirus software must be disabled during the collection and copy process. Anti-virus software will trap and quarantine the password copy DLLs as Trojans. This is a known issue with McAFee, AVG, Endpoint and other protection software. If passwords are being copied check and remove the PKU2U settings in the LSA settings within the Registry. PKU2U only effects the home group and can be reinstalled after the migration if required. Using regedit navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa and from Security Packages remove PKU2U, also check that AllowPasswordExport is set to 1, and NoLMHash is set to 0 then reboot the computer to take effect. If you are migrating both files and folders, verify that the USB device has enough capacity to copy the files to as well as the collect information files Go ahead and get started..

3 USB COLLECTION Insert the Movthere-USB device into the source computer (server or workstation). Servers must be member servers; Domain Controllers are not recommended unless local account information is not to be migrated. Open File Explorer and navigate to the root of the USB device. Right Click MovithereUSB.exe and Run As Administrator except on Windows 2000, 2003 and XP. From the opening screen select the operation you wish to perform either clear a previous collection or Start a new collection and click Next Start Source Server Collection Process Will start the options menu Start Target Server Creation Process used once the collection has been completed Clear Previously Run Collection use this command to clear and free up space on the USB device from any previously run collections. 4 Source Computer Options Both computer name and IP address should automatically appear in the appropriate dialog boxes, then enter or verify the computer name, Domain or workgroup name, the IP address and the OS bit type for the source computer, then click Next Source Domain or Workgroup Name -: This must be in NetBIOS format as. 5 Migration Options Select any or all the options you wish to perform and the location where to copy the selected folder and files on the target server if selected and Click Next to continue. Copy Users Groups and Passwords if this option is selected, local users, user properties, user rights, Terminal server settings, passwords, Local groups, local group description and membership will be collected and saved to the USB device including their current source computer SIDs. Copy Folder and Share permissions- if this option is collected the folders from the folder tree will be saved including NTFS permissions, folder owners, primary group, and inheritance both inherit down and inherit from parent. If any shares exist in the copied folder tree their share names and permissions are also recorded. Copy files to and from This option will copy the files from the select folders to the USB device including their creation and modified dates. (Note this requires the most space in a non-connected migration on the USB device). Destination Target computer location This is where the folders and/or files will be copied to on the destination server by drive letter. Be sure to include the colon in your drive option C: or D: etc.

6 Folder Selection- If file migration or folder migration was selected in the previous menu expand the drive letters and Add the root folders to the migration options. The folder trees that will be migrated will appear in the right window then click Next to continue.

7 Start the Collection Process, Click Start. The collection progress will display during the collection in the main window until the collection is complete. Once the collection is complete click Exit to return to the main menu and click Exit again to terminate Movithere-USB. Once the software has closed, use File Explorer to eject the USB device and move the USB device to the target computer

10 Start the Move Process, Click Start. The creation and copy process will copy the information from the USB device to the target computer. Local account SIDs and Security permissions based on server SIDs will be translated into target computer SIDs automatically. Progress of the copy will display in the main window until the copy and creation process is complete. Once the creation and copy process is complete, click Exit to return to the main menu where you can either click Exit again to terminate Movithere-USB or remove the collection from the USB device before exiting. Once the software has closed, use File Explorer to eject the USB device and remove the USB device from the target computer.
