2 Function and system design Measuring principle Measuring system " Caution!! Note! Electronic recording and conversion of Pt100 input signals in industrial temperature measurement. The TMT470L temperature transmitter is available from the factory as: A) An individual transmitter board. B) A complete cable transmitter with 2x M12x1 connector (IP 67). C) A stainless steel housing, with M12 connector and potted board, which the user can make into a compact thermometer by affixing an appropriate process connection (with sensor). The following specifications must be observed if process connections/sensors are welded with the TMT470L stainless steel housing: The temperature in the area of the potting compound and the electronics must not exceed 120 C (248 F) (even briefly). Experience shows that this can be achieved through using a special tool as a heat sink/ dissipator. The welding seam must be gas-tight to ensure that moisture cannot cause internal corrosion. The resistance of the welding seam must be designed for a shock load of at least 7 Newton (exceptions depend on the requirements). Important: The manufacturer of the TMT470L does not accept any responsibility for damage resulting from faulty further processing (warranty exclusion). Note! The insertion length of the compact thermometer can have a substantial influence on the accuracy. If the insertion length is insufficient, heat dissipation via the process connection and the container wall can cause measurement errors. To minimize errors caused by heat dissipation, a minimum insertion length of L min = 40 mm (1.57") is recommended. 6 Human interface Display elements Operating elements Remote operation No display elements are present directly on the device. The measured value and other displays can be called up using the ReadWin 2000 PC software. No operating elements are present directly on the display. The temperature transmitter is configured by remote operation, without an additional power supply using the ReadWin 2000 PC software.
