Coarse Focusing knob 18. Body 19. Focusing Slop Screw 20. Objectives 21. Viewing Head 22. Eyepiece 1. Base: It bears the total weight of the microscope with built in lamp For illumination. It has excellent optical image and making image perfect. 2. Illumination: It consists of lamp source and condenser. There are Four types of lamps for optical a) 20W Incandescent lamp; b) 5W fluorescent lamp; c) 6V/20W Halogen lamp; d) LED lamp with/without Rechargeable Batteries. 3. Stage (3): It has a double layer mechanical layer with a spring specimen hidden (2), sized of 110 x 129mm, moving with 60mm in X-direction & 30mm in Y direction by right hand coaxial knobs (8). The precision of ball-bearing droveways assures the movement smooth, accurate and low resistant. The movement of X-Y direction travels gradually to 0.1mm and allows you to return to the exact field with a minimum. 4. Viewing Head (21): 45' inclined and rotatable in 360 viewing head: a) monocular, b) binocular, c) dual, d) trinocular
6 5. Eyepiece (22): Wide field aplanal-achromal eyepiece makes the microscope a wide vision for further comfortable operation. The arrow pointer can indicate clearly any part of the image. All lenses of the eyepieces are made of crystals. 6. Objectives (20): Achromatic & Aplanal objective: 4X, 10X, 40X(S), 100X(S, Oil). All lenses are made of crystal. Before leaving the factory, all the objectives are par-focal. The 40X or 100X objective when touch with the specimen, it can return automatically. It can prevent the specimen and objective from damage. 7. Nose piece (1): It is a quadruple revolving nosepiece. The advanced and precision. Construction of the nose piece guarantees smooth rotation and perfect focal objectives. 8. Focusing System: The reduction system with the gear rack mechanism gives a smooth accurate focusing control. The focusing slop screw (19) prevents the objective and specimen from damage. The focusing system of the microscope is the separated coarse and the focusing knobs. The coarse focusing knob (17) is the larger one, and the fine focusing knob (15) is the smaller one. 9. Condenser (4): The microscope is equipped with a N.A Abbe condenser. The condenser fits the back lens element of the objective to improve the resolution of the image. It can be moved up and down by the control stick (16). Its upper limited position can be adjusted by a screw. And its center can be adjusted freely by three screws (5). 10. Diaphragm (6): The microscope is equipped with an Iris diaphragm. Ajust the diameter of the diaphragm by turning its stick to set optimum lightning for each objective. This is done by first closing the Iris, then opening it slowly until the entire field is evenly bright. If the objective is changed to the higher power, the Iris must be adjusted to the new objective. CHAPTER: 5. HOW TO USE 1. Select the place to work where direct light falls on the instrument. Avoid placing the microscope at the large window where the direct light is falling as it may adversely affect the contrast and resolution of the image viewed. 2. Put a low magnification objective in the position and turn on the illuminator. 3. Pull back the lever of the specimen holder (2) on the left side of the stage. Insert the micro-slide specimen on the stage, then bring the crescent shaped holder in contact with the slide. Be sure that the cover slip of the slide is facing towards the objective; otherwise you will not be able to focus your specimen at right magnifications. 4. Position the specimen so that it is centered over the in stage condenser. 5. Focus the objective on the specimen by turning the coarse focus knob (17) until the image of specimen is bright and clear. Now you can bring the specimen into sharp focus by turning the fine focusing knob (15). 6. With the specimen sharp focus, rotate the nosepiece to the other objectives and focus. Slice the optics on the microscopes are Par-centered, only as light of the fine focusing knobs id necessary. NOTE: it is important to note that the 4X and 10X objectives can never come into contacting with your micro-slides. The 40X and 100X objectives may touch occasionally with the micro-slide. But because of its retractable mounts, your slide and objective will not be damaged. 7. Focusing the condenser. The sub-stage Abbe condenser is mounted beneath the stage in a focusing mount to focus the condenser until the illumination of the field is uniform
7 8. Adjust the diameter of the diaphragm by tuning the stick to set optimum lightning for each objective. This is done by first closing the Iris then opening it slowly until the entire field is evenly bright. If the objective is changed to a higher power the Iris must be adjust to the new objective. 9. Using of the 100X (S, Oil) oil immersion objective: Oil immersion objectives are used for the highest magnification. The microscope tube is racked up and 100X (S, Oil) objective swing into place. Drop a little of fine quality immersion oil on the slide and focus down with the coarse adjustment until the lens contact with the oil. Continue (more slowly) to focus down with the coarse adjustment until the color or a blue red of the specimen's image just appears. The complete the focusing with the fine adjustments. In using of the 100X (S, Oil) objective, the most favorable resolution is obtained with the Abbe condenser nearly touching the slide specimen. Ideally, a drop of immersion oil is placed between the condenser and the slide as well as between the slide with the 100X (S, Oil) objective. Although this practice is not always for the study, it is only way to take full advantage of resolution of 1.25N.A. Abbe condenser. CHAPTER: 6. MAINTENANCE & CARE 1. Cleaning of Optical Elements Surface: Never take the objectives or the eyepieces apart. They should be cleaned on the instruments itself as they are not easily removed. To clean the lens surfaces first remove the dust with the soft brush or blow it off with a small syringe. Then use a cotton tip with a small amount of xylene and clean only the front lens of the objective and the top lens of the eyepieces. Wipe with the clean cotton tip again and finally blow or brush of the lens surface. The mirror or illumination lens surfaces may be cleaned in the same manner, but better results may obtained by wiping with a soft lint free cloth. 2. Cleaning & Lubricating of Mechanical Parts: This type of maintenance should be done by the authorized technician. 3. Adjusting the Focusing Stop: Usually, the focusing stop screw (19) has been located accurately before the microscope leaving from our factory. When it is not in order, use 40X objective and micro-slide on the stage. Relax the focusing screw, and raise the stage up until the micro-slide contacting with the front of 40X objective. Then locate the focusing stop screw. 4. Replacing Lamp: WARNING: DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE REPLACING LAMP. ALLOW LAMP TO COOL ENOUGH BEFORE REPLACING
