6 COMMAND STATION SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS For an optimal Command Station experience, ensure that you re using the following: Minimum Requirements 2 nd Generation Intel Dual Core i3 processor (or equivalent Xeon ) 4GB system memory Video decoding: Intel HD graphics (1GB video memory) 360 dewarping: NVIDIA GT 610, AMD HD 7750 or Intel HD 530 using the latest drivers Network connection (Gigabit required for megapixel) 64-bit Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 with DirectX support 1366 x 768 minimum display resolution 200MB of available disk space Recommended Requirements 7 th Generation Intel Quad Core i7 processor (or equivalent Xeon ) 8GB system memory For quad monitor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (2GB video memory or more) 360 dewarping: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (2GB video memory or more) using the latest drivers Network connection (Gigabit required for megapixel) 64-bit Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 with DirectX support 1920 x 1080 (1080p) optimal display resolution (or up to 4K) 200MB of available disk space or more Command Station supports GPU side dewarping and decoding for increased performance. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Command Station supports up to 100Mbps of video decoding Command Station is a multi-threaded application that scales to the number of logical CPU cores and threads (i.e. if a CPU had 32 cores, Command Station would use 32 threads) Decoding is currently done on the GPU and CPU, rendering and color space conversion are done on the GPU All data is received over a single thread and uses I/O completion ports for data streams to allow receiving a large number of streams at the same time efficiently Rendering uses a single thread per Command Station window drawn on a single Direct3D surface 6

7 COMMAND STATION SETUP REMOTE LOGIN USING OPENEYE WEB SERVICES Log in to Command Station with an OpenEye Web Services account credentials to load recorder list, layouts and shared layouts from the cloud. You will be required to change the default Admin password when first logging in as shown below. LOCAL LOGIN If you initially log in with the default login credentials below, those credentials will remain the default administrator account, even if an OWS account is used to login at a later time. If an OWS account is not available, log in using the local administrator credentials below: Username: admin Password: AI 7

8 You will be required to change the default Admin password when first logging in as shown below. 2-STEP VERIFICATION If 2 Step Verification is enabled in OpenEye Web Services, Command Station will prompt for the code sent over text messaging to be entered before log in. If a text message is not received, clicking the resend code option will attempt to send the code again using an alternative service. 8

9 RECORDER SETUP Use this menu to manually add recorders or make changes to existing recorders. ADD/EDIT RECORDERS These steps allow you to add a local or remote recorder not registered with OWS. It is recommended that you use your OpenEye Web Services account to access recorders; if you log in using an OWS account, registered recorders will automatically become available. With the DVR Configuration permission checked, recorders can still be added manually when signed in with an OWS account. Recorders added manually will not appear if connected from a different Command Station install. ADD RECORDER MANUALLY By default, no current recorder is selected and the New Recorder field is active. If a different recorder is selected before you wish to add a new recorder, click Add New Recorder. 1. Click the Options icon. 2. Click Add/Edit Recorders section. 3. Type Server Name, IP Address, Protocol, and Port Numbers in the New Recorder field. 4. If the recorder requires authorization, type the Username and Password. Specify if Command Station always prompts for Username and Password when accessing the recorder using the Always Prompt for User / Pass checkbox. 5. Click Save AI 9

10 EDIT A RECORDER 1. Click the Options icon. 2. Click Add/Edit Recorder section. 3. Click to select the desired recorder form the Recorder List. 4. Type the desired changes in the Edit Recorder fields. 5. Click Save. DELETE A RECORDER 1. Click the Options icon. 2. Click Add/Edit Recorder section. 3. Click to select the desired recorder form the Recorder List. 4. Click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm. 10

11 LOCAL USER MANAGEMENT Use this menu to add User accounts or make changes to existing User accounts. User Account Information Command Station Permissions Recorder Access ADD / EDIT USER ACCOUNTS It is recommended that you use OpenEye Web Services to manage user accounts. This way, your User accounts, preferences, and permissions will automatically load regardless of the Command Station location where you are logged in. Access to local recorders is granted to OWS accounts using this menu. ADD A USER ACCOUNT By default, no current User account is selected and the New User field is active. If a different User account is selected before you wish to add a new user, and then click Add New User. 1. Click the Options icon. 2. Click Add/Edit Users section. 3. Choose Command Station Account or Web Services Account AI 11

12 For Local Command Station Account 1. Type a Username and Password, and then confirm the Password. 2. Choose if the User will change the Password upon next login. 3. Check the desired recorders in the Recorder Access field. 4. Check the desired permission in the Command Station Permissions field. 5. Click Save. For a Web Services Account The first OWS user to log in will be designated as an Administrator. 1. Type the Web Services Account address. 2. Check the desired recorders in the Recorder Access field. 3. Check the desired permission in the Command Station Permissions field. 4. Click Save. EDIT A USER ACCOUNT 1. Click the Options icon. 2. Click Add/Edit Users section. 3. Click to select the desired user from the User List. 4. Type the desired changes in the User Account, Recorder Access, and / or Command Station Permissions field. 5. Click Save. DELETE A USER ACCOUNT 1. Click the Options icon. 2. Click Add/Edit Users section. 3. Click to select the desired user form the User List. 4. Click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm. 12

13 GENERAL SETTINGS ABOUT This section displays the current Command Station software version and Licensing Agreements. GENERAL SETTINGS This section allows users to Enable GPU Decoding by checking the box. Once enabled, users can enter the number of channels to be decoded by the GPU (1-64). LOG FILES The log files section has the ability to export Command Station logs for troubleshooting and the ability to enable debug logging for advanced troubleshooting AI 13

14 SOFTWARE UPDATE Software Update displays the current version, release date, the option to automatically check for new updates and the option to manually check for an update. USER PREFERENCES User Preferences are available for the individual user currently logged in. This menu allows you to save the application layout for future logins, enable software update notifications and other advanced options. Never save the application window the application window will never be saved upon logging out. Save the application window when closing the application window will automatically be saved when logging out. 14

15 Manually save the application window the application window will save when the Save Window button is clicked. Local Layouts select this option to display the local layouts when logged in with an OWS account. Software Update Notifications check the box to receive notifications when software updates are available. Disabled Cameras show disabled cameras in the tree view list. Frame Rate Rendering this option sets the maximum number of frames per second that are rendered for each camera. 2 Step Verification resets Command Station not asking for multi-factor authentication. Default Language set the default language Command Station is displayed in. Background Streams changes the timeout value of streams in the background when switching grid views AI 15

Live Transition from the Search screen to the Live screen. Search Transition from the Live screen to the Search screen. Grid Specify a screen grid to view live video from cameras in the Viewing Pane. View Drop down selection of Live video options: 4:3, 16:9, Original and Stretch Stream Specify the stream quality for cameras in the Viewing Pane. PTZ Enable and disable PTZ control in live view. Sequence Enable and disable auto live sequence and modify sequence time interval. Audio Mute and adjust volume level for audio in live. User Drop down menu Select Preferences, Switch User, Log Out. 16

17 Options Open the Command Station Options window. Feedback Submit Command Station feedback online. Full Screen Camera tiles occupy the entire screen and menus are hidden, but show the left side site list and top menu if you lead the cursor over the center arrow drop downs; full screen saves states when you Exit. Layouts User arranged screen layouts and camera arrangements; can be saved for future use. PTZ Control Control PTZ, home position, zoom in/out, auto focus, menu, set and fire presets. CAMERA TILE RIGHT-CLICK MENU Use the Camera Tile Right-Click Menu to manage individual camera tiles. Move Camera Option to move a camera when PTZ is enabled using point and click. Remove Camera Remove a camera from the Viewing Pane. Remove All Cameras Remove all cameras from the Viewing Pane. Reset Zoom Reset the zoom to 0 in the camera tile. Reset All Zoom Reset the zoom in all camera tiles. OSD (On-Screen Display) Display the On-Screen Display options. Enable On-Screen-Display Enables on screen display or disables it Time Display the current time. Time Zone Display the Time Zone of the recorder. Camera Name Display the camera name. Diagnostics Information Framerate, bitrate, resolutions, and video format. Digital Zoom Display the Digital Zoom rate. Enable PTZ Mode Enable PTZ mode to control PTZ cameras. Show all cameras from this Recorder in a new tab Opens a new tab with all cameras from a single recorder. Audio Mute audio 34863AI 17

18 RECORDER RIGHT-CLICK MENU Use the Recorder Right-Click menu to manage recorders in the Recorders list. Open in new tab Open the recorder in a new Command Station tab. Open in new window Open the recorder in a new Command Station window. Setup Open the recorder setup menu. Device info Displays the device id, connection type and version. Disconnect Disconnect from the recorder. CAMERA RIGHT-CLICK MENU Use the Camera Right-Click menu to manage cameras in the Recorder List. USER DROPDOWN MENU The User Dropdown Menu can be found alongside the settings button on the Live Screen. This menu displays Preferences, Switch User, and Logout. 1. In the Live Screen, click the expansion arrow next to the current User Login. 2. Select from the dropdown menu. DIGITAL ZOOM 1. Click to select the desired Camera Tile. 2. Use the scroll wheel on your mouse to scroll up, zooming in. 3. Scroll down to zoom back out, or use the Right-Click Menu to Reset Zoom per camera tile or Reset All Zoom. Layouts will save Digital Zoom settings. 18

19 HOW DO I ADD / REMOVE CAMERAS FORM THE VIEWING PANE? ADD A CAMERA 1. Click the expansion arrow next to the recorder on the Recorder List that is connected to the desired camera. 2. Click and drag a camera from the Camera List to the Viewing Pane to create a Camera Tile. OR Drag the recorder connected to the desired cameras from the Recorder List to the Viewing Pane to display all connected cameras. OR Double-click the desired camera from the Recorder List. OR REMOVE A CAMERA Drag one Camera Tile over another in the Viewing Pane to swap their locations. 1. Right-click in the desired Camera Tile to display the Right-Click Menu, and then click Remove Cameras or Remove All Cameras. HOW DO I ADJUST THE SCREEN CAMERA GRID? The Live screen display can be adjusted to show live video for 1, 4, 6, 9, 10, 13, 16, 17, 20, 21 25, 36, 49, and 64 camera tiles simultaneously. 1. In the Live screen, click Grid. 2. Click on the desired camera grid. The layout will automatically apply. 3. Adjust the Camera Tiles as desired AI 19

20 HOW DO I ADJUST THE SCREEN VIEW? The Live screen view affects the camera tiles and the Aspect Ratio / Format of the live video being displayed. 1. In the Live screen, click View. 2. Click the desired Aspect Ratio and Format. The Live screen display will automatically adjust to the changes made. See the Live Screen section for more detailed information about Aspect Ratio and Format. HOW DO I ADJUST THE STREAM QUALITY? The Stream Quality affects the resolution of live video as seen on the Live screen. The Stream Quality can be set to low, medium, high, or auto. 1. In the Live screen, click Stream. 2. Click the desired Streaming Resolution. The live screen will automatically adjust to the changes made. 20

21 HOW DO I ENABLE PTZ? The PTZ view mode allows you to control PTZ cameras using the mouse. 1. In the Live Screen, click PTZ. 2. Using your mouse, click and drag to reposition the camera as desired. 3. Using your mouse wheel, zoom in or out as desired. 4. When you have finished positioning the camera, click the PTZ button again to return to normal mouse function. PTZ for the individual cameras must be enabled in Apex setup under Cameras and General. HOW DO I ENABLE SEQUENCE? The sequence option will cycle through grids in live view. 1. Add cameras to live. 2. Change the live grid to the desired grid to be sequenced. 3. In the Live Screen, click Sequence. 4. Modify the duration if needed. 5. Click the Enable button to start sequencing live. HOW DO I ADJUST THE LIVE AUDIO VOLUME? You can control the live audio volume by selecting the live audio icon and moving the slider bar or mute by selecting the speaker icon AI 21

22 HOW DO I DEWARP 360 CAMERAS? 360 cameras can be de-warped using Command Station. These cameras display in 360 mode by default, but three additional views are available. Support for 360 cameras include: a) Digital zoom state will be saved when user saves layout or exits Command Station. b) Support for moving zoomed images from one camera tile to another. c) Export support of de-warped images for JPG and MP4. To de-warp a 360 camera: 1. On an applicable 360 camera tile, right-click to display the right-click menu. 2. Click 360 View Mode, and then select a mode. The camera tile will automatically update to reflect the selected 360 View Mode. 360 CAMERA DEWARPING VIEWS Interactive dewarping method that allows for interactive video viewing; click-and-drag cursor available to adjust the camera view across the entire 360 view. 360 Panorama dewarping method that cuts the 360 image at one point and lays the video flat; view the entire 360 view from left to right. 2 x 180 Panorama dewarping method that shows the 360 image in two split 180 degree views No Dewarp maintain the circular 360 warped view. All 360 dewarping modes enable Zoom. Use the scroll-wheel to zoom in and out of the camera view. FISHEYE MOUNTS Command Station supports 360 camera Fisheye Mounts, including ceiling and wall mounts. To change the type of Fisheye Mount: 1. Right-click the connected recorder with the desired camera(s), and then click Setup. 2. Select the desired camera(s) from the Camera list. 3. Select the Fisheye tab and enable fisheye support. 4. Use the Mount Type dropdown to select the desired mount type. 5. Click Save. Command Station will update to reflect the changes. 22

23 HOW DO I SAVE A SCREEN LAYOUT? LAYOUTS Layouts preserve the arrangement of cameras in the live view screen, allowing you to quickly switch between defined sets/arrangements of cameras. Creating a Layout LOCAL LAYOUTS 1. Add the camera tiles desired from a recorder or multiple recorders in Live. 2. Click the layouts option 3. In the My Layouts or Shared Layouts column, click Add, and then type the name of the layout. 4. Arrange the camera tiles as desired. 5. Right-click the layout, and then click Update. Local layouts are stored on the local workstation only accessible from the Command Station installation on that PC. CLOUD LAYOUTS Cloud layouts are stored in the cloud, accessible from any Command Station installation that the user logs into. They re tied to and only accessible via the User account they were created from. CLOUD SHARED LAYOUTS These layouts are stored in the cloud, accessible from any Command Station installation. Unlike the above, they re accessible by any user in the same company they were created in. The Managing permission simply allows a user to edit, add, or delete shared layouts. Enabling Shared Camera Layouts 1. Log in to your OWS account from a web browser. 2. In the Customer Accounts click the gear icon and User Groups. 3. Create a new group or click edit on an existing group. 4. Click Command Station Permissions 5. Check the desired checkboxes for View Shared Camera Layouts and Manage Shared Camera Layouts and click save AI 23

24 LAYOUTS RIGHT-CLICK MENU Open in Current Tab Open the layout in the current tab. Open in New Tab Open the layout in a new, separate tab. Open in New Window Open the layout in a new Command Station window. Add camera layout group Create a new layout group. Delete Remove the layout from the list. Rename Give the layout a new name. Update Save the changes made to the camera tile arrangement in the layout. HOW DO I USE PTZ OPTIONS? PTZ OPTIONS Diagonal controls Pan/tilt or navigate through UTC camera menu. Home Send camera to home position Zoom in and out Use mechanical zoom controls and auto focus some analog HD cameras. Menu Open analog HD camera menu on supported cameras AF Sends auto focus command to supported cameras Presets Move, set or delete presets. CONFIGURING A UTC CAMERA USING PTZ OPTIONS 1. Select the camera in live and click PTZ CONTROL option. 2. Select the MENU option to open the camera menu. 3. Use the Horizontal Arrows on the controller to navigate the camera menu. 4. Select the right Vertical Arrows to change options in the camera menu. 5. Select the MENU button to select options in the camera menu. 6. Navigate to the save or exit option in the camera menu and select menu to save or exit. 24

25 SEARCH SCREEN Perform a Timeline Search, Thumbnail Search or an Event Search to review recorded video, including playback, and export of images and video clips. TIMELINE SEARCH SCREEN Timeline is the default search option in Command Station. Recorded video is represented chronologically on a timeline, allowing you to quickly see when motion events have occurred. This also allows you to jump directly to a time with a click rather than manually inputting a time. Timeline Search Bar 34863AI 25

26 HOW DO I PERFORM A TIMELINE SEARCH? TIMELINE SEARCH PLAYBACK CONTROLS Event Search Play Backward Pause / Stop Play Forward Date and Time Picker Thumbnail Search Timeline Search Skip Backward Playback Speed Skip Forward Export Manager Export Pause / Stop Pause or Stop the video playback. Skip Backward Move to the previous frame of recorded video. Play Backward Play recorded video backward. Play Forward Play recorded video forward. Skip Forward Move to the next frame of recorded video. Playback Speed Control the speed of video playback. Load Load archive files in the archive viewer. Export Manager Manage your video exports. Export Export still images and recorded video as seen in the current search playback. Export Bar Quickly export a clip of video with the click and drag feature across the Thumbnail Search timeline. Date and Time Picker Use to specify a date and time to search recorded video. 26

27 ADD CAMERA(S) TO THE SEARCH VIEWING PANE When the Search screen is opened, the cameras that were in the Live Screen Viewing Pane will appear. However, cameras can be arranged separately in the Search screen to facilitate the desired search. 1. In the Search screen, double-click a camera in the Recorder List. OR Drag the recorder connected to the desired cameras from the Recorder List to the Viewing Pane to display all connected cameras. OR 360 Camera Search Click and drag a camera from the Recorder List to the Viewing Pane. 360 Cameras still offer interactive features in Search. For a list of these features and instructions on how to use them, see How Do I Dewarp 360 Cameras. CUSTOMIZE THE CAMERA TILE GRID Changing the grid of the viewing pane allows for viewing multiple cameras. All cameras will begin playback of recorded video at the time specified on the horizontal Timeline Search Bar. 1. Click the Grid button. 2. Click on the desired camera grid. 3. Assign the available cameras to the desired Camera Tiles. SELECT DATE AND TIME For a more convenient search process, you are able to select a specific date and time to begin recorded video playback. 1. In the Search screen, click the Time or Date link in the Timeline Search Bar. 2. Choose a date within the selected month. 3. Use the up and down arrows to specify a time on the selected date. 4. Click Save. Once a specified time and date has been selected, slide the Timeline Search Bar left or right to change the playback start time if desired AI 27

28 PERFORM A TIMELINE SEARCH 1. If desired, customize the Camera Tile layout or screen grid in the Search screen Viewing Pane. 2. Click and drag the timeline to move to a desired time. Or Double-click directly on the desired time on the timeline. 3. Use the Play / Pause, Stop, Play Forward / Backward, and Skip Forward / Backward playback controls to control video playback during your search. PLAY BACK RECORDED AUDIO IN TIMELINE SEARCH 1. To play back audio in Search, select a channel in the tree view in Timeline Search. 2. Click the speaker icon next to the name of the channel to enable playback. 3. Volume can be adjusted in the top right corner of the search window. 4. Click Play in Timeline Search to begin playing back audio. Only channels with audio enabled for recording will show the speaker icon next to the camera name. HOW DO I PERFORM A THUMBNAIL SEARCH? THUMBNAIL SEARCH PLAYBACK CONTROLS Number of Thumbnails Time Range On-Screen Display Toggle Search Date Previewer Time Range Export PERFORM A THUMBNAIL SEARCH 1. Click the Search button. 2. Select and double-click a camera in Search. 3. Select the Thumbnail Search icon. 4. Select the number of thumbnails to display. 5. Select the time range to display. 6. Turn OSD On or Off. 7. Select a Date and Time from the Thumbnail Search Date Previewer. 28

29 8. Left-click on the desired thumbnail to narrow the time interval, opening new thumbnails. When the thumbnail is narrowed to 1, 3, or 10 minutes, left-clicking again will begin recorded video playback in the Timeline Search screen. 9. Right-click the desired thumbnail to expand the time interval, opening new thumbnails. HOW DO I PERFORM AN EVENT SEARCH? PERFORM AN EVENT SEARCH 1. Click the Search button and select the Event button. 2. Set the Start, End and Duration to filter. 3. Check the channel or channels from a single recorder or multiple recorders to filter for events. 4. Click the Apply Filter button to start the Event Search. 5. A list of event results will be displayed; selecting an event from the list will allow it to be played back. Doing a mouse over of the camera icon for an event will show a thumbnail of the start, middle and end of the event AI 29

30 HOW DO I PERFORM AN OBJECT SEARCH? PERFORM AN OBJECT SEARCH 1. Click the Search button, then select the Object search type. 2. Click and drag in the video pane to create a region to be searched. 3. Adjust the Date/Time range and the Sensitivity in the Filter Options section. 4. Click Search. HOW DO I LAUNCH THE SALEGUARD CLIENT? LAUNCH SALEGUARD 1. Ensure that the Saleguard client is installed on the same PC as Command Station. 2. Go into search and click the Saleguard icon to launch the Saleguard client. The Saleguard icon in search will only be displayed if the Saleguard client is installed and detected on the same PC as Command Station. 30

31 HOW DO I EXPORT FROM SEARCH? EXPORT FUNCTION: EXPORT A VIDEO CLIP LOCALLY 1. In the Search screen, perform the desired Timeline search, and then click the Export button. 2. Select the Single Camera export icon. 3. Specify the Start / End time and Video Quality, and then click Next. Larger Length of Clip and higher Video Quality will result in larger video file sizes. 4. Select the Export Locally option and browse to the desired location, and then click Export. Locally exported video clips are saved in the My Videos folder by default as MP4 files. A maximum of four hours can be exported at one time. EXPORT FUNCTION: EXPORT AN IMAGE LOCALLY 1. In the Search screen, perform the desired Timeline search or narrow a Thumbnail search. 2. Click Export. 3. Click Snapshot in the Export window. 4. Click the folder button and then specify a local file save location. 5. Click Export. Locally exported images are saved in the My Pictures folder as JPEG files AI 31

32 EXPORT BAR: EXPORT A VIDEO CLIP LOCALLY 1. In the Search screen, perform the desired Timeline search or narrow a Thumbnail search. 2. Click in the Export bar at the desired start time, and then drag to the desired end time. Once a time range has been established on the export bar, you can click and drag either side of the selection to modify the time range. 3. Right-click the created export clip, and then click Export Video. Export Bar Export Options 4. Click the folder button and then specify a local file save location. 5. Click Export. A maximum of four hours can be exported at one time. EXPORT TO WEB SERVICES To export video clips or images to Web Services, follow the same steps as outlined above, but select Export to Web Services as the export location. EXPORT MANAGER The Export Manager allows you to view and manage your video exports locally, or to the cloud. Use Export Manager to play back exported videos in Command Station instead of logging into your OWS account to view the exported video archive. The Export Manager export history is not saved when exiting Command Station. 32

33 HOW DO I EXPORT MULTIPLE CAMERAS? For efficiency, you are able to export multiple cameras at once. This would be useful in situations where you want to export video data across multiple cameras or locations. 1. In the Search screen, click Export. 2. Click Multi-Camera, and then check the boxes for the desired cameras you wish to export. 3. Click Next. 4. Select the Start and End Date and Time, and then select the Video Quality. 5. Click Next. 6. Choose Export to Web Services or Export Locally. If you choose to Export to Web Services, give the export file a Title and Description. If you choose Export Locally, designate the location for the export file to save. 7. Click Export. All active cameras will display in the Multi-Camera export list. You are able to export multiple cameras from multiple DVRs at once. HOW DO I CREATE AN ARCHIVE? The Archives function exports up to 24 hours of data in the native format. 1. Add cameras to the search Grid. 2. Click the Export button and select the Archive option. 3. Check the cameras listed and click Next. 4. Set the Start & End Date/Time and click Next. 5. Chose the local or network location by clicking the folder icon and click Export. HOW DO I VIEW AN ARCHIVE? The Archive function displays video in the native format one recorder at a time. 1. In timeline search or the standalone viewer click the LOAD option. 2. Navigate to the archive var file, select the file and click Open. The stand-alone archive viewer will automatically load the latest var file if located in the same directory AI 33

34 HOW DO I EXPORT FROM AN ARCHIVE? VIDEO CLIP SNAPSHOT The Archive Viewer supports exporting single camera MP4 s locally. 1. In the Search screen, perform the desired Timeline search, and then click the Export button. 2. Select the Single Camera export icon. 3. Specify the Start / End time and Video Quality, and then click Next. 4. Select the Export Locally option and browse to the desired location, and then click Export. The Archive Viewer supports exporting snapshots locally. 1. In the Search screen, perform the desired Timeline search or narrow a Thumbnail search. 2. Click Export. 3. Click Snapshot in the Export window. 4. Click the folder button and then specify a local file save location. 5. Click Export. DIGITAL SIGNATURE VERIFIER Videos, images and archives exported from Command Station have an embedded digital signature. This is used to validate that these items have not been tampered with. To validate the files have not been tampered with, you will need the following: The image, video or archive file you wish to validate The OpenEye Digital Signature Verifier (DSV) The DSV is a small utility that allows you to validate that the file has not been tampered with. This utility can be downloaded from OpenEye.net. The Certificate Thumbprint from the Apex recorder The DSV utility will attempt to verify the exported file, and then present one of two findings: Digital Signature Validated: the thumbnail for the Apex recorder will match the thumbnail displayed for the validated file. Digital Signature Invalid: this indicates that the file does not contain a valid certificate. 34
