All the models in the Leitz Reference series are economic scanning measuring machines for solving complex measurement tasks. Three series of models cover a complete range of applications: Leitz Reference HP Complex applications in particular depend on achieving very low levels of measurement uncertainty. Coordinate measuring machines in the Leitz Reference HP (High Precision) series are the perfect choice for this situation. They combine high accuracy with optimum measurement throughput. Of critical influence here is the LSP-S2 measurement head fitted on the larger Leitz Reference HP coordinate measuring machines. This high-tech, premium-class measurement head covers all bases in measurement procedures: single-point probing, self-centring and continuous High-Speed- Scanning. New: Leitz Reference Xi/XT The excellent Leitz scanning performance continues in the new Leitz Reference Xi and Leitz Reference XT series. These new series impress with their great choice of different probe head systems: from the LSP-X1 in combination with the continuous wrist TESASTAR-m through the fixed measurement head LSP-X3c right up to the LSP-X5, which remains unflappable, even when used with extreme stylus extensions or heavy styli clusters. The accuracy is there in every situation whether measuring with indexing or fixed measurement heads. With a multi-sensor controller, the Leitz Reference Xi and Leitz Reference XT series are also well equipped for the integration of vision measurement sensors. QINDOOS software options turn the Leitz Reference into a gear measurement center. The features at a glance: Particularly stiff all-aluminum frame The TRICISION bridge design offers an optimal stiffness-to-mass ratio of the bridge and hence, unique precision and long-term stability. The heavy, stable granite table is insensitive to vibrations. The granite measuring table is made from one piece. Patented dovetailed guideways are built-in with the highest possible precision. The optimized elastomer damping system with variable stiffness isolates vibrations coming from the surroundings. The position of the high-resolution steel scales close to the guideways ensures the best possible reproducibility. Patented weight compensation In view of the small footprint and minimal height, the measuring machine can be set up even in small spaces. Unrestricted access to the working area. Simple, proven design with 20% less parts than conventional measuring machines. Consequently - higher reliability - less maintenance - more operating time - lower acquisition costs Based on computer-aided design engineering, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Modal Analysis, the structure of the machine was optimized with regard to deflection, effects of vibrations and machine dynamics. TRICISION technology lowers the machine s center of gravity and, at the same time, provides a greater distance between the air bearings than traditional technology. QUINDOS Software The Leitz Reference is not only a coordinate measuring machine. In combination with QUINDOS software it can also be used as a gear inspection center. Over 30 packages, such as gears, bevel gears, worms, worm wheels, step gears, scroll and screw compressors are available.

4 Steel-reinforced belt drives with elliptical tooth profiles to reduce machine vibrations at high scanning speeds. Wrap-around air bearings on precision machined dovetailed guideways ensure optimal reproducibility and long system stability. The prestressed air bearings ensure precise guidance along the entire travel path of the machine. TRICISION technology Traditional technology The unique TRICISION technology, as compared to the traditional technology with triangular bridge cross-section, offers the best requisites for very high dynamics with a low center of gravity and reduced mass.

5 Sensors The machines of the Leitz Reference series are equipped with 3D probe systems developed and manufactured by Hexagon Metrology. They can execute both quick single-point probing and High- Speed-Scanning for form and contour measurements. During every operation, the probe system measures the surface of the workpiece in the X, Y and Z directions simultaneously and hence, automatically in the direction of the surface normal. Thus, the deflection of the probe can be calculated and compensated. LSP-S2 The excellent probing deviation MPE P of LSP-S2 makes it possible to measure any complex geometry, also with very narrow part tolerances. The unmatched data frequency of max points/second guarantees maximum throughput. Both High-Speed-Scanning of known and unknown contours and measuring with very long extensions up to 800 mm characterize this probe system. LSP-X5 This heavy-duty analog probe features very high and repeatable accuracy even with extra-long probe extensions and heavy styli clusters (up to 500 mm of length and 500 g of weight). It features a proprietary anticollision system for extra protection of the head. The LSP-X5 is the ideal tool to verify high accuracy mechanical parts and complex geometries. LSP-X3c A compact, cost-effective but extremely accurate, 3D fixed scanning probe head. It can carry up to 360 mm long probing extensions and styli clusters. LSP-X1h and TESASTAR-m Combined with the motorized indexable probe head TESASTAR-m the LSP-X1h probe reaches every feature. It accepts extremely long styli: The LSP-X1h is capable of accommodating styli lengths of 20 to 225 mm in the axial orientation and up to 50 mm in the lateral orientation.
