The 2D DataMatrix Code DataMatrix coding is the most widespread type of 2D barcodes for optimal traceability for biological samples. Almost infinite combination possibilities Reading and decoding for every barcode orientation Reed-Solomon error correction : prevents inaccuracy due to damaged codes, data reconstruction possibility Laser printing : High resistance to mechanical and chemical wear&tear High information density ECC 200 code : latest DataMatrix version used DataMatrix code structure, 4 main components : Finder pattern : Two adjacent solid lines forms the code s finding pattern, allowing its identification by a scanner. The L-pattern is used to locate the code and determine its orientation. Timing pattern : Dashed lines on the upper-right corner of a DataMatrix code. It provides information to the reader/scanner regarding the number of rows & columns and therefore the code s size. Module zone : Contains the code s binary information. Each module represents a bit, often black for 1 and white for 0. Quiet zone : White area around a DataMatrix code.
