2 Mobile Finance market to grow further during first Quarter During first Quarter 2014 Mobile Finance services market in Italy increased by 20% in volumes with regards to last year same period. Positive trend in adoption of SMS for banking services is going on, in particular in transactions notifications on cards (credit cards, debit cards and prepaid ones) and bank accounts but also in information services to facilitate communications between banks and end user. During the first 3 months in 2014, the volume of SMS sent by the panel of monitored Italian banks, both for free and paid (the so called ethical premium services ), went beyond 113,9 millions (95,3 millions sent in the same period last year, +20%). Ubiquity s Report for first Quarter 2014 is proving again the communications benefits for SMS services on end users and the fact that they run an important security function thus also quite appreciated by banking customers in Italy.

3 Two digits growth for Mobile Finance services is more evident if compared with general market trends. According to latest Unioncamere data, despite a huger political stability and the first small signs of recovery from crysis, Italian family are still suffering: during first Quarter 2014, Trade sector decreased by 3.7% and Services sector by 2.6%. ICT and TLC segments are decreasing as well: in particular TLC had 4.3% decrement. SMS Alert services offering Analysis on services offering shows further increase (+33%) for SMS linked to credit cards that represent most of part of overall volumes (72%). Also services linked to bank accounts are growing (+12% to reach 13% of the managed volumes). As to other services categories, there is a further growth for Caring & Services SMS that stand for 12% of the overall offering. SMS Marketing and Trading volumes are smaller (1,5% and >0,5% respectively), where both categories saw a decrease in volumes by 19%.

4 Notification services are still predominant (71%), then information services come (28,5%), while dispositive services are marginal, in trend with last years. Most analyzed services (more than 99,5%) belong to Push category.

5 Methodological Note This Report to base on SMS volume monitoring for the 20 most important Italian banks, a privileged observation point to track statistically all trends in mobile services adoption within Italian territory. A privileged point due to Ubiquity s leadership within Italian market in managing Alert SMS for notable banks such as Intesa SanPaolo, Unicredit, Fineco, BancoPosta, etc Monitored services Monitored SMS services have been clustered by these categories: SMS services on Credit Cards: these are information, dispositive and notification services linked to credit, debit and prepaid cards use such as payments with retailing POS, withdrawal from ATM, on line purchasing, checks on monthly available amounts on credit cards, etc ; SMS services on Bank Accounts: these are information, dispositive and notification services linked to own bank account use such as Balance, Movements (TT transfers and payments), phone recharge, alerting on low cash flow and minimal reached limit, etc ; Marketing SMS services: these are communications and promotion iniziatives from Banks; Trading SMS services: these are information, dispositive and notification services linked to Trading such as checks on stock index, checks on Best & Worst daily stock shares, portfolio equivalent value, currency analysis, etc.. ; Caring & Service SMS services: these are preparatory services to the use of other access channels to Bank (Internet Banking, ATM, etc ) such as confirmations of services activation, and services linked to the security of owned Internet Banking and information.
