After each of Arm/Disarm action, SEL-003 will send out the information about system status, it means that is its current stagus, if Armed or Diarmed and particular wired inputs and outputs. The same function about activation is possible to do using the wireless controls. Possibility to switch off the function concerning dispatching SMS, so that if you want to have this function ON or OFF Possibility to change a password Setting any time about relay ON or OFF Two working regimes: Low Consumption = LC (3mA) and Full Operation = FO (6mA). If used LC, SEL-003 will call or send SMS when alarm, but you can not to call or send SMS out to SEL003. On the contrary with FO you can make any calling or sending SMS to SEL-003 with no resctriction. If alarm is in this regime, SEL-003, of course, will call or send SMS or both activities (It depends how it is programmed). Possiblity to setup a number of ringing, lenght ringing, regular dispatching about SEL-003 status. Just simply you will choose some hour in a day and SEL-003 will sell SMS in this hour about stagus of ARMED/DISARMED, inputs and outputs. If SEL-003 is in LC ( low consumption) you have call and send SMS to SEL-003 withing 15 minutes after receiveng status SMS Arm/disarm delay (1 255s) Alert SMS about low battery and good battery Showing of firmware, IMEI, date and time Showing of inner baterry voltage and external battery (or solar panel) volatage History of all events (40 records) with PC software History in SMS on request (3 last records) 2

To use solar panel, it is always necessary to switch inner battery ON! It means, ON/OFF button must be ON. 3

5 External LED connection (instead of siren) Resistor 2K2 External LED connection (with relay) Resistor 2k2 If you use external battery to supply SEL-003, the inner battery must be OFF. Otherwise charging inner battery will increase a consumption. 5

6 Supply You can supply GSM alarm unit with battery, solar panel or adaptor. The most GSM devices have a large power consumption within start, it can be even 1A, with a really short-term peaks. If you use a battery or solar panel, GSM alarm will be saved even with a shortage, if some appears. If you use a battery to supply SEL-003 with a low consumption regime having 3mA, it is very easy to count, how long a central unit can work according to a formula as follows: Y = X:3:24, X= battery capacity, Y = how many days SEL-003 can work. For example, if battery capacity is 45Ah, then mAh, the result is Y = :3:24 = 625 days. If this figure is divided 30, you will get a number of months, when your cenral unit can work. In this case it would be about 20 months. This value is theorethical, of course, because there is self-discharge of battery and sending SMS regular central unit info. Nevertheless it is possible to calculate for a practical use about 75% of counted value. SEL-003 Installation Instructions General Precautions: Switch off the power supply before making any connections including the power supply and data connections. Do not touch any live conductors or components, as this could cause SEL-003 damage, especialy to its communication parts. Do not mechanically stress SEL-003 because this can cause damage concerning components or solder joints. SEL-003 power supply inputs are protected by a diode against the incorrect polarity of the power supply. SIM card install Install or Remove SIM card only when the power supply is turned off! The SIM card must have no PIN! Recommended using a SIM lump-sum card to avoid not working due to lack of credit (Prepaid SIM can be used if you keep enough credit on it). Before putting SIM card into SEL-003, you can put it in a mobile phone to erase all incoming and outgoing SMS and calls and cancel PIN. Open the SIM card holder and put SIM card into the tray and then close and slide it back into the locked position. Before turning ON the power supply make all the nessasary connections including the power supply leads and data cables for SEL-003. SEL-003 Programming methods SEL-003 requires some basic functions to be programmed before it can be operated. There is two ways to program these basic functions, either by SMS or PC software. SMS programming allows the same operations like PC software. PC Software allows in order to all programming was altered quickly, and a copy of all the programming can also be saved to file PC software installation Software is divided into clearly marked sections, this makes the programming simple and easy to follow. When SEL-003 is connected to the PC, you can download data from SEL-003 and save data to SEL-003. Put all PC software including a driver to file called SEL-003. When you connect SEL-003 to PC USB, it is necessary to install a driver. How to do? 6

7 Connect SEL-003 to PC USB Connect SEL-003 to the power supply You will see a short message in the right down corner. See picture below. after that, clik on Computer mark (on the desktop or after click on mouse button and you will see as follows: Start button ) by right

17 As soon as installation is over you will see as follows: When you go to Device Manager you see in Ports LPC134xxUSB VCom Port. In that case installation is successful.

18 SEL-003 PC software It is devided in a few windows, like configuration, wireless zone and history Configuration windows Firmware section You can read firmware version, IMEI or signal strenght, when you push appropriate button. When you click on PC button (time section), SE244X will download PC actual time and you can save it to SE244X clicking on save button. Sometimes is necessary to repeat it. You have a possibility, too, to download a credit of your SIM card. Just write code of your mobile phone operator. For example O2 *104*#, Vodafone *22# and so on. The result will be displayed on a message window (left down corner). Voltage click on this button to measure outside and inside voltage. Inside battery capacity = 600mAh. In addition software will show automatically, if the battery is charged, fully charged or low charged and it is necessary to charge it. This message about charging is relatived to inside battery only! Basic section to disarm delay (sec) - a delay in seconds before the SEL-003 will call or send SMS after an input is triggered in the armed status. If SEL-003 is disarmed before preset time, then no SMS or call will be performed. There is a time to disarm SEL-003 before alarming. The range is sec. It is possible to disarm of the central unit vith a remote control, keypad or ringing. to arm delay (sec) a delay in seconds, when central unit does not react on alarm signal from the sensors. It is used, when for example you go out of the house and arm your central unit. 17

19 SMS after arming when choose this item, SEL-003 always will send SMS after each arm and disarm with a date, time and more informations. Example: If you armed by remote control called keypad at hours, you will receive SMS as follows: armed: keypad 8 If you give a call to the central unit after that, the central unit will be disarmed automatically and SMS will be sent as follows: disarmed by ringing: As you see, you will get to know immediatelly, which status SEL-003 is, it means, if armed or disarmed and more information. See above. You can make the different combinations, for instance, arm by remote control, disarm by keypad, or arm and disarm by ringing and so on Warning: These information SMS are sent to Master number, it means, the first phone number in the phone number list and the phone number, which requested this information. For example, if the first number is and next phone number is , then SMS will be sent to Master number disarm by ringing: Supply regime Full operation choosing this option, SEL-003 works like classical GSM alarm with no restrictions. It is possible to send out SMS or call to GSM central unit and to get its answers. But central unit consumption even in this supply regime is 6mA only! Low consumption choosing this option, SEL-003 will come to standby regime. It means, GSM module is in sleeping mode, so that it is impossible to call or send SMS to central unit. On the other hand, if alarm from some detectors (sensors), microprocessor will wake it up immediately and central unit will call and send SMS (or it can switch siren on and so on). There is another important feature here. If central unit sends SMS with regulat central unit state info ( see below), that SEL003 will cross into full operation regime for 15 minutes. In this time you can change setting by SMS or request about voltage status, for example. After 15 minutes it will cross into low consumptiom regime again. Solar supply choosing this option, SEL-003 will not send out info SMS about external power supply failure. When night comes, voltage in solar panel becomes very low and therefore central unit would have to send out info SMS about external power supply failure. Since SEL-003 knows about powering with solar panel, it will not send it out. If this option is not chosen, central unit will send out info about external power supply failure after each voltage fall. Alarm - ring - choosing this option, SEL-003 will call to all phone numbers in the phone number list, one by one. 18

20 Alarm - SMS - choosing this option, SEL-003 will send SMS to all phone numbers in the phone number list, one by one. It is necessary to choose min. One of the options. Of course, you can take both, too. Manual reset alarm choosing this oprion, SEL-003 will call and send SMS just once after alarm. Then it waits to be armed again. It must be chosen all option altogether, it means Alarm-ring, Alarm-SMS and Manual reset alarm. It is possible to také this option to prevent false alarms. If you také just Alarm-ring and Manual reset alarm, SEL-003 will call only after each alarm. Number of ringing range 1 3 Ring length (seconds) range 1 60 Regular central unit info choosing this option, you can take a time, when SEL-003 will send regular central unit SMS information about SEL-003 status every day. If you want to have this information once a week only, just choose weekly option. Well, if you want to get this information once a week, it is necessary to choose regular central unit info and weekly altogether. It display in this SMS, if central unit is Armed or Disarmed, wh save at are inputs and outputs status. After sending out this information SEL-003 will cross into full operation regime for 15 minutes, so that it si possible to call or send SMS to SEL-003. After this time, it will come back to low comsumption regime. Arm stage it shows, if SEL-003 is armed or disarmed. When you setup all aprameters in this section, click on save button. Password To change the password (bottom line) you need to know the existing password. Be carefull not to forget the password or store it safely, without this password it is imposible to use the software. The factory password is If you want to change the password fill in the new and confirmation by the password window and then push the save password button. The password is four-figured, it is possible to use numbers and letters. Note: The program does not save or read the password during data transmission. If you forget the password it can only be reset by contacting the producer!!! Wired Inputs Setting You can change the following parameters for each input individualy: Device name - Maximum of 15 characters or numbers, any extra characters will be erased automatically. Input mode - for each input seperately. The inputs modes are: link: When the input is grounded, it will be alarmed. unlink: When the input has the ground removed, it will be alarmed. change: When the ground is removed or connected to the ground, the input will be alarmed arm: When the input is grounded it will armed SEL-003 disarm : When the input is grounded it will disarm SEL

21 Arm/disarm change: This will alternate SEL-003 between arm/disarm each time when the input is grounded. 24h - if sellected means, that the input is active 24 hours and it will always cause an alarm reguardless of whether SEL-003 is armed or disarmed. Silent - if selected, no alarm outputs are armed, so SEL-003 will just will ring and/or send SMS. Outputs You can change the parameters for each output as follows: Outputs: Output name has a maximum of 15 characters or numbers, any extra characters will be erased automatically. Relay contact time: The range is in seconds. If set 0, then output, when alarmed, will remain in the on-state indefinitely and can only be reset by sending SMS command to turn it off again. alarm : If selected, output will be activated when ever an input triggers alarm. For example, if selecting this for the relay output, then when input triggers an alarm the relay will close for preset time in time closure item or will be indefinite if the time closure is set to 0. beep : If selected, device switch for a short time after each arm/disarm operation, for example if you connect a siren to relay, then will beep. It beeps once when armed and twice when disarmed. 20

22 Phone numbers setting Click on x in the phone number list, if you want to add the phone number. The position will become highlighted in blue. Enter phone number into put phone item. Move phone number into the phone number list by clicking on arrow. It is possible to save a maximum as many as 16 seperate phone numbers. If you want to erase the phone number from the list the just click on it, and then click on the erase button. Device works with the phone numbers included in this number list only, all other phone numbers will be ignored. On the other hand, you can control SEL-003 from another phone number using a password before SMS command. Ringing lenght - you can setup ringing length. So it is possible to ring longer. In the case of short ringing it can mean SEL-003 has hung up before user will give a call. As soon as all parameters are setup, just click on save button. On the other hand, if you want to read data from device, just click on download button. Ringing action If you call to the central unit, SEL-003 will refuse a call and change the present armed/disarmed status to the oposite one. This will only work if the calling phone number is included in phone number list. SEL-003 will also give a confirmation call back to the caller. Wireless zones 21

23 You can setup as many as 16 wireless sensors like PIR, magnetic and smoke. It is possible, too, to setup as many as 8 wireless keypads or remote controls. Of course, you can name all wireless sensors or keypads or remote control. See window above. How to add wireless sensor (detector) Switch PIR On and then switch PIR Off. When you switch PIR On, you will see its wireless code in the item called accepted. Then just click on any posititon in code item, next to wireless input name and code will be rewritten automatically. See above. If you want to add magnetic sensor, just draw away magnet and you see its wireless code in the item called accepted. Then just click on any posititon in code item, next to wireless input name and code will be rewritten automatically. See above. On the other hand, if you want to read data from device, just click on download button. History 22

24 There is possible to display the 40 last events. It shows all alarms, arming/disarming, remote controls (including persons using them), datum, hour and minute, when some event happened. When is programming is over, pull out a cable from PC and switch off SEL-003. After 20 seconds, switch external power supply and then switch indoor baterry to ON position. It that case, the battery will be charged automatically. SMS setting it is possible to setup all parameters with SMS commands. You can write into one SMS even several SMS commands. It is necessary to keep min. one blank space among SMS commands. SMS command to ARM/DISARM *** arm ### disarm Example: If you want to arm the central unit, just enter SMS command as follows: *** and send it to your central unit phone number. If you want to disarm the central unit, just enter SMS command as follows: ### and send it to your central unit phone number. SMS commands from unauthorized phone number After receiving SMS command, the central unit always controls, if the phone number is in phone number list. If so, it will accept SMS command and execute. If you send SMS command from unauthorized phone number, it is necessary to use before each SMS command a password. This password looks like this: *#*nnnn where nnnn is four figure password Example: *#*1234 If you want to arm the central unit, just enter SMS command as follows: *#*1234 *** and send it to your central unit phone number. 23

If we want to use all possibilities of this SMS comman, enter * after output name, if not, enter #. See examples above. Then enter SMS command as follows: **6*1*pir in the bedroom*01 **6*2*magnetic sensor in the hall*01 **6*3*fire detector*10 It is possible to use several SMS commands in one SMS. SMS command setting wireless remote control and keypad name **7*n*nnnnnnn# Person name Remote control position 1 8 You can attach to each remote control (or wireless keypad) any person, who will be using it to arm or disarm. Example: We want to call the first wireless remote control Johny Rambo remote control, the second one Peggy White remote control and wireless keypad Catherine Black. 29 It is possible to use several SMS commands in one SMS SMS command setting wireless sonsor code on position **8*n# Sensor position 1-16 We want to add the first wireless sensor to posotion 1, second to position 2 and third to position 5. Then enter SMS command as follows: **8*1# **8*2# **8*5# SMS command setting wireless remote control or keypad on position **9*n*# Remote control position 1 8 arm 9 16 disarm There are 8 remote controls in the list. If we want to force a particular position (for instance using abnormal remote control (for example PIR sensor) to arm or disarm, we must central unit teach their codes to arm or disarm. Remote control position is postponed in 8, it means, it will cross all remote control or keypad position to arm and after that is code put on disarm position. If then we want to put the third remote control on position 3 to arm and 11 to disarm (8 + 3 = 11). It is not necessary to put both codes, enough to teach your central unit how to arm by PIR sensor. But it is impossible to disarm with the same PIR sensor of course. Example We want to place a wireless remote control or keypad arm button to position 1 and disarm in the same position as well. We must add 8 to place it on disarm position., then(1 + 8 = 9). Then enter SMS command as follows: **9*1# **9*9# SMS command **9*1# is to arm and **9*9# to disarm Next example: We want to place a wireless remote control or keypad arm button to position 3 and disarm in the same position as well. We must add 8 to place it on disarm position., then(3 + 8 = 11). Then enter SMS command as follows: **9*3# **9*11# SMS command **9*3# is to arm and **9*11# to disarm. 28

30 SMS command output control by SMS **10*n* * or # * - output ON # - output OFF Output number position 1 relay 2 transistor output (siren) Example We want to put relay ON. Then enter SMS command as follows: **10*1* Next example: We want to put relay OFF. Then enter SMS command as follows: **10*1# Central unit info: SMS command:?? - sends SMS about central unit status??1??2??3??4 - sends SMS with last three history events - sends SMS with input list - sends SMS with phone number list - sends SMS about voltage (external and internal) How to add sensors (detectors) using record button Push record button min. 2 seconds. When you release it, the first left LED (call OUT1) blinks and central unit is prepared to learn codes. Arm sensor, which you want to learn or remote control arm or disarm button. If learning is successful, second green LED shines for about 30 seconds. If you shortly push the record button, you can leave it prematurely. To teach remote control, it is enough to push arm or disarm button. Both codes (arm and disarm) will be saved automatically. The code will be saved on the first free position. Wireless remote control and wireless sensors codes are different. Central unit controlling Central unit ON supply regimes Full operation immediately after switch on, LED SPEAKER blinks shortly and in about 5 seconds LED called POWER will start to blink. It blinks faster initially and then blinks with interval about 3-5 seconds. Low consumption - immediately after switch on, LED SPEAKER blinks shortly and in about 5 seconds LED called POWER will start to blink. It blinks faster initially and then blinks with interval about 3-5 seconds. After that LED will not shine. No LED shines then. 29

31 Full operation possible to call or send SMS to the central unit Arm Within arming (remote control, keypad LED called STATUS starts to blink in interval about 5 seconds and at the same time LED called MONITOR blinks, too. LED MONITOR blinks within preset to arm delay time. Simultaneously LED called RELAY and SPEAKER shines for a short time (it is attached to Bell output in a green connector), which switch siren on for a short time, if you marked beep option about siren. Within phone arming LED called STATUS shines and LED called MONITOR and RELAY (see previous text). This LED shines even when SEL-003 calls back to user. After this arm period just LED called POWER blinks during interval about 3 seconds and LED called STATUS within interval about 5 seconds. Disarm LED called RELAY and SPEAKER (named in green connector Bell) blink twice. If siren is connected, will beep for a short time, if you chose this option. After that LED called POWER blinks with interval about 3-5 seconds. After phone disarm LED called STATUS will shine for a short time and at the same time LED RELAY and SPEAKER shine. Alarm when alarming, LED MONITOR wil start to blink and LED STATUS blinks faster. If LED MONITOR is blinking, it is possible to disarm the central unit without any alarm. LED MONITOR is blinking within preset to disarm. If central unit is not disarmed withing this period, LED ALARM and RELAY will shine, which it means, that siren will be switched on (if chosen) and central unit will start to call or send SMS or both to the preset phone numbers. Low consumption Arm to arm (remote control, keypad) LED called STATUS will begin to blink in interval about 5 seconds and at the same time LED MONITOR will start to blink, which is blinking within preset time to arm. At the same time LED RELAY and SPEAKER will shine for a short time and siren will be switched on, if chosen. To arm by phone ringing is impossible within this regime. After preset time is over, just LED STATUS blinks in interval about 5 seconds. Disarm LED called RELAY and SPEAKER (named in green connector Bell) blink twice. If siren is connected, will beep for a short time, if you chose this option. To disarm by phone ringing is impossible within this regime. After preset time is over, no LED lights. Alarm when alarming, LED MONITOR wil start to blink and LED STATUS blinks faster. If LED MONITOR is blinking, it is possible to disarm the central unit without any alarm. Central unit reset Push program button and hold on min. 20 seconds. When you release it, all paramaters will be erased and second green LED on the left side called OUT2 will blink. System was reseted and all parameters came back to factory setting, including 1234 password. 30
