3 SIP IP Phone Models 6700i and 9000i Series Phones Release Notes Hot Fix (HF)2 About this document This document provides details on issues resolved for the 6700i Series SIP IP Phones (6730i, 6731i, 6739i, 6753i, 6755i, 6757i, 6757i CT) and the 9000i Series SIP IP Phones (9143i, 9480i, 9480i CT) for Release HF2. Notes: 1. This release applies to the phone models mentioned above only i and 6737i are not supported in this release. 6 SIP IP Phone Models 6700i and 9000i Series Phones Release Notes Before you upgrade Please read before upgrading your phone Note: The following information applies to all IP phones EXCEPT the 6739i. If you have a firmware version on your phone prior to 2.3, please read the following IMPORTANT information before upgrading the phones: LLDP is enabled by default If LLDP is enabled on your network, the phones may come up with different network settings. For more information about LLDP, see the Aastra Models 9000i and 6700i Series SIP IP Phones Administrator Guide. Support for DHCP Options 159 and 160 If the DHCP server supplies Options 159 and 160, the phones will attempt to contact the configuration server given in these options. For more information about Options 159 and 160, see the Aastra Models 9000i and 6700i Series SIP IP Phones Administrator Guide. HTTPS validation If you are using HTTPS and the certificates are not valid or are not signed by Verisign, Thawte, or GeoTrust, the phones fail to download configuration files. For more information about HTTPS validation, see the Aastra Models 9000i and 6700i Series SIP IP Phones Administrator Guide. WatchDog task feature If the phone detects a failure (for example, a crash), the phone automatically reboots. For more information about the WatchDog feature, see the Aastra Models 9000i and 6700i Series SIP IP Phones Administrator Guide. Note: If you factory default a phone with Release 2.3 and above software, when the phone reboots, it attempts to connect to rcs.aastra.com. There is no personal information transmitted from the phone and the phone continues to boot up as normal. Warning: Applicable to IP Phone Models 6730i and 6731i only: The default negotiation setting for the Ethernet ports on the phones is auto-negotiation. If you have changed this default setting to another value (i.e. Half Duplex or Full Duplex), you MUST set the negotiation value back to the default value of autonegotiation before upgrading to Release HF2. Failure to do so may cause the phone to fail to connect to the network. In addition, downgrade will not be possible. 4 RN REV

7 Issues Resolved in Release HF2 This section describes the issues resolved on the IP Phones in Release HF2. The following table provides the issue number and a brief description of each fix. Note: Unless specifically indicated, these resolved issues apply to all phone models. Issues Resolved Issue Number Description of Fix Configuration DEF28280/CLN28403/ CLN28406/CLN i: When the parameter confxfer live dial was configured, performing a blind transfer straight to a voic account (e.g. * key followed by the extension) was not functioning correctly unless the user pressed the Dial key. This issue has been fixed and blind transfers (in live dial mode) to voic accounts are now functioning as expected in such situations (i.e. no additional keys need to be pressed). SIP DEF27355/CLN28271/ CLN28272 DEF28189/CLN28319/ CLN28328/CLN28342 DEF28418/CLN28643/ CLN28644 DEF28301/CLN28388 DEF28842/CLN28849/ CLN28850 DEF28918/CLN i: Intermittent restarts were observed with regards to the PegThread on the phone when used in conjunction with Aastra MX-ONE. This issue has been resolved and the phone is now functioning as expected. When using the phones with Aastra Clearspan, an issue was observed whereby certain Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems did not respond to DTMF tones from the phone. This issue has been fixed. Issues were observed with regards to the SIP PUBLISH message whereby the RemoteMetrics and LocalMetrics in the PUBLISH message body was omitted if the respective party did not send RTCP XR information. Additionally, the Contact header in the SIP PUBLISH request was missing. These issues have been corrected. When using the phones with Aastra MX-ONE, intermittent stability issues were observed when a user was in an active conference call with an additional call on hold and the user dropped the first leg of the conference call. This issue has been fixed. When using the phones with a Metaswitch server, blind transfer issues would occur when the transfer target number was entered on the phone rapidly or if the phone received an incoming call during the transfer process. This issue has been resolved and blind transfers are now functioning as expected in such scenarios. When the DTMF method for the phones was set to SIP INFO, the phones would send more than one digit (i.e. SIP INFO request) for each key pressed on the keypad. This issue has been corrected. RN REV

8 Issues Resolved in Release HF2 Issue Number DEF28620/CLN29047 Description of Fix 6739i: An issue was observed whereby the phones, used in conjunction with Aastra MX-ONE, configured to use the TLS transport protocol, and set with a specific SIP session timer, did not refresh active TLS calls as expected. This caused the SIP session timer to expire, ultimately ending TLS calls when still active. This issue has been fixed. User Interface DEF28097/CLN28236/ CLN28237/CLN28555 DEF26684/CLN28266/ CLN28267 DEF28878/CLN28885 An issue was observed whereby if a call was received or sent with no defined name, the phone would display the incoming call s phone number twice on screen when the call was established. This has been resolved. 6739i: Navigation buttons located on the phone s UI would sporadically disappear from the Redial/Callers List when using the phone in conjunction with the Aastra MX-ONE server. This issue has been fixed. 6755i, 6757i, & 6757i CT: When in an active call, pressing the Xfer softkey, waiting momentarily, and then pressing the Goodbye key did not display the expected Pickup, Conf, and Xfer softkey options on the phone s screen. This issue has been resolved. XML DEF28221/CLN28275/ CLN28276 DEF28348/CLN i, 6757i, 6757i CT, & 6739i: When using XML, Cyrillic/Russian character encoding/formatting issues were observed. This issue has been corrected and Cyrillic/Russian character encoding is now functioning as expected. 6731i: Entering Cyrillic/Russian characters within an XML InputScreen script on the phone would cause the phone to display additional characters on screen that the user did not enter. This issue has been resolved. 6 RN REV
