2 essentials essentials Note: Before using your phone for the first time, be sure to review the important safety information in the user s guide. Periodically review this information so you remember how to safely use your phone. insert your SIM card Your Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card stores your phone number and other information. Turn off your phone before you install or remove a SIM card
3 essentials insert your battery Note: Your battery is intentionally tight fitting to ensure consistent connection.
4 essentials insert a memory card You can store photos, sounds and other multimedia objects on a removable microsd memory card. charge your battery New batteries are not fully charged. Plug the battery charger into your phone and an electrical outlet. The battery charging icon flashes while the battery is charging, and stops flashing when the battery is fully charged. Disconnect your charger once charging is complete.
5 essentials turn it on & off To turn on your phone, press and hold O for a few seconds. If prompted, enter your SIM card PIN. To turn off your phone, press and hold O. The power menu is briefly displayed. Continue to hold O to turn off your phone. slider To open your slider, push the bumper bar up. To close your slider, pull the bumper bar down.
6 essentials make a call To make a call, enter a phone number and press N. To hang up, close the slider or press O. answer a call To answer a call when your phone rings and/or vibrates, just open the slider or press N. To hang up, close the slider or press O. make a video call Enter a phone number and press the video call key or press Options > Video call to dial the number. To end a video call press O.

Press the navigation key up, down, left, right to scroll or centre s to select.
8 HELLOMOTO Home screen The Home screen appears when you turn on the phone. Your Home screen displays important status information, such as messages and missed calls, using plug-ins. The plug-ins that you can select are: Calls, Messages, , Calendar, Profile, and Music. From the Home screen press Options > Settings to select the plug-ins you want to display (up to five) and select your wallpaper and softkey settings. Help Use the in-device help to find more information about main phone features. Press Options > Help within a feature (where available) and select from the topics displayed.
9 customise You can make your Home screen personal and customise the look and sound of your phone using profiles. profiles Each profile uses a group of settings to define items such as ring tones, message alerts, screensavers and more. There are five standard profiles that you can activate or edit, or you can create your own. Press g >G Control panel > Profiles > profile name > Options > Activate or > Edit or > New > enter profile name ring style, volume and theme You can change your ring style, volume, and theme from the Basic tab in Profiles. Press g > G Control Panel > Profiles: profile name > Options > Edit > Basic tab
10 contacts phonebook store a phone number 1 Enter a phone number in the Home screen. 2 Press Options > Store. 3 Enter a name and other details for the phone number. 4 Press Options > Save to store the number on your phone. You can copy contacts between your phone s memory and your SIM card, refer to the User Guide. call a stored phone number Press g > A Contacts 1 Scroll to the contacts entry. Shortcut: In contacts, press keypad keys to enter the first letters of an entry you want. 2 Press N to call the entry.
11 messaging send a text message Press g > E Messaging > Create new message > SMS 1 Select To to add a recipient. Enter the recipient s number or press Contacts and select a contact. 2 Scroll down to the text entry field and press keypad keys to enter text on the page. Note: Press # to switch modes (itap predictive text h, Multi-tap standard entry i, Numeric n or Symbol o). 3 When you finish the message, press the Send key. receive a message When you receive a new message, your phone plays an alert. Also, the display shows New message with a message indicator, such as É, and the Home screen messaging plug-in is updated. Press the View key to open the message.
12 media player audio player music Your phone can play and store MP3, AAC, AAC+ and Enhanced AAC+ music files. Press g > F Media Studio > Media Gallery > Music tab or press the Media Player key. In the Media Gallery, select a track from Playlists, Artists, Tracks, or Albums. When the Media Player is displayed: Play or pause Press the centre key s. Stop Press S down. Play previous or next Press S left or right. Change volume Press the volume keys. Return to the Media Gallery Press S up. Your music will continue to play. Hide the player Press g to go to the main menu. This lets you use other phone features while playing music. Tip: Want some help? Press Options > Help.
13 media player play video Press g > F Media Studio > Media Gallery > Video tab. In the Media Gallery, select the video you want to play. When the Media Player is displayed: Play or pause Press the centre key s. Stop Press S down. Skip back or forward Press S left or right. Change volume Press the volume keys. Return to the Media Gallery Press S up. Note: The Media Player is used to play music or videos. You cannot play both at the same time. Tip: Want some help? Press Options > Help.
14 photos photos take a photo & store or send it Press g > F Media Studio > Camera or the camera key to see the camera viewfinder. Note: To take a photo with the primary camera (back) the slider must be closed. To take a photo with your secondary camera (front) the slider must be open. Press the centre key s or the camera key to take the photo in the viewfinder. After you take your photo: To save the photo and return to the viewfinder press the centre key s or S left. To discard the photo and return to the viewfinder press S right. To save the photo and go to the Media Gallery press S up. To save the photo and create an MMS message with the photo inserted press S down. Tip: Want some help? Press Options > Help.
15 videos videos record a video & store or send it Press g > F Media Studio > Camcorder to see the video viewfinder. Note: To take a video with the primary camera (back) the slider must be closed. To take a video with your secondary camera (front) the slider must be open. Press the centre key s or camera key to start and stop recording the video. After you record your video: To play/pause (preview) the video, press the centre key s. To save the video and return to the viewfinder press S left. To discard the photo and return to the viewfinder press S right. To save the video and go to the Media Gallery press S up. To save and go to the MMS editor with the video inserted in the message press S down. Tip: Want some help? Press Options > Help.
16 Bluetooth wireless Bluetooth wireless use Bluetooth Tip: Want some help? Press Options > Help. Your phone can make handsfree calls using an optional Bluetooth headset or car kit. Note: The use of wireless phones while driving may cause distraction. Discontinue a call if you can t concentrate on driving. Additionally, the use of wireless devices and their accessories may be prohibited or restricted in certain areas. Always obey the laws and regulations on the use of these products. Before you try to connect your phone with a handsfree or music device, make sure the device is on and ready in pairing or bonding mode (see the user s guide for the device). Press g > C Connectivity > Bluetooth > Enabled audio devices tab > New device Your phone lists the devices it finds within range. 1 Scroll to a device in the list and press the centre key s. 2 If necessary, press Yes or OK to connect to the device.
17 Bluetooth wireless 3 If necessary, enter the device passkey (such as 0000) and press OK. When your phone is connected, the Bluetooth indicator O is highlighted in the status bar. Shortcut: When your phone s Bluetooth power is on, your phone can automatically connect to a Bluetooth device you have used before. Just turn on the device, or move it near the phone. If the device doesn t connect, turn it off and back on. To turn your phone s Bluetooth power on, press g > C Connectivity > Bluetooth > Bluetooth on. For specific information about a device, refer to the instructions that came with it.
