4 PRODUCT OVERVIEW Ketra s Family of lamps are an all-encompassing LED solution with the ability to render 90+ CRI white light, saturated colors and pastels from a fully mixed, single point source. Ketra s custom driver chip and optics incorporate closed-loop thermal and optical feedback, maintaining a factory-calibrated color point to one MacAdam ellipse over the product s lifetime. 6 PRE-INSTALLATION FIXTURE PLACEMENT For ideal KetraNet Mesh wireless performance, position the Lamp according to these guidelines: Keep within range: Place the Lamp within 50 ft (15.24m) of at least one or more KetraNet Mesh enabled device in it s network. Avoid obstructions: Avoid having metal obstructions or walls between the Lamp and the nearest device. Avoid metal enclosures. 7 INSTALLATION STEP 1 PHYSICAL INSTALLATION 1. Remove lamps from packaging and install one lamp per socket. Power with 120VAC 60Hz, or 277VAC 60Hz power. Lamp will illuminate a default 3000K warm white. 2. Using a licensed electrician, install X2 Keypad or X1 Touchpad. (See fig. 7.) Refer to the X1 or X2 Installation guide for reference. Using a CAT5 or equivalent ethernet cable connect the N4 to a Modem/Router. (See fig. 8.) Power with VAC 60Hz mains power. Refer to the N4 Installation guide for reference. 8 INSTALLATION STEP 2 INSTALLATION WITH DESIGN STUDIO 1. Confirm Before downloading Design Studio, make sure you have what you need: Windows 7 or a later Windows operating system. DS is currently unavailable for Mac. At least one Ketra N4 hub connected to a router with Internet. The hub should be within 50 feet of at least one Ketra device that will be in your installation Download To download Design Studio, visit our website, and go to Products > Interfaces > Design Studio. On the Design Studio page, click the link that says Design Studio Installer. 3. Open Double-click the Design Studio icon to open the software. (Depending on your computer speed, it may take a minute to load.) The installer will take you through an install wizard. After this is complete, click Open. 4. Create an Account Input your name, , and chosen password to create your account. Having this account will allow Design Studio to back up your installations to the cloud, as well as enabling you to collaborate with other users and make the most of Ketra s remote assistance program. 5. Create an Installation Click Create an Installation to get started. Design Studio will ask for some basic information. If using Design Studio for temporary testing, choose an Open installation; for all other purposes, choose Secure. When prompted, set N4 Hub(s) as the communication type. PAGE 8

9 INSTALLATION 6. Discover Devices Design Studio will use one of your N4s to search for nearby powered-on devices, then let you add devices to the N4 s network so you can control them. First, pick an N4 to search with and click Find Devices. Design Studio displays the search results in Found Devices (right). To add, check devices boxes and click Add Checked Devices. After adding, click Finish this Hub to move on. 7. Group Lamps Creating lamp groups enables you to configure and control subsets of your lamps. Grouping is optional if you only want to control all of your lamps together, simultaneously. To get started with groups, click New Lamp Group (in the left panel). Next, expand All Lights to see your lamps. Highlight one or multiple lamps and use the Add to: box (bottom-right) to add them to groups. 8. Customize a Keypad To customize a keypad s button content and set the lamp groups that it can control, go to Device Control (top) and then click Keypads (directly below). Choose a keypad at left, then use Group Assignments to assign groups to the keypad, and Keypad Assignments to set a scene or show for each button. For quick scene-building, reuse an existing scene, or create one and visit the Content Library (right). 9. Publish Settings To save configurations to your devices, click Publish Everything (top-right). Always publish after making changes in Design Studio. 10. Download Mobile App With the Ketra app, you can control your keypads from your phone or tablet. Download the app from the App Store (for ios) or Google Play (for Android). Follow the onscreen prompts to download. 11.
