This specialism addresses the increasing demands from employers in a wide range of such organisations in relation to IT-enabled, customer-centric managerial decision making. It focuses on data-driven techniques for business intelligence and practical skills of developing business intelligence solutions and systems. In the Gartner EXP survey 2009, business intelligence (BI) was the No. 1 technology priority for the fourth year in a row rated by 1,500 CIOs worldwide. In addition to theoretical studies on the subject you will gain and develop hands-on experiences in analysing, designing, and implementing business intelligence solutions and systems. (honours) criticise, modify and synthesise approaches to the development of Information systems.. exploit varios analytical approaches, BI platforms and BI systems to capture the business and technical requirements for business intelligence system development. You will acquire and develop transferable skills such that you are able to:.. communicate effectively verbally and in written form.. manage personal resources.. work effectively in teams.. seize opportunities for continued professional development Entry Requirements In order to be considered for entry to the framework applicants will be required to have 5 GCSE passes (Grade A, B or C) (including English and Mathematics) (or their equivalent) and the following qualifications: Entry at Level 1: 220 UCAS tariff points in: other advanced qualification equivalent to 220 UCAS tariff pointsentry to Top-Up Courses: other equivalent Higher Education qualificationmature applicants who have relevant work experience but do not meet in full the criteria set out abou=ve, are encouraged to contact the admissions tutor for advice on alternative routes into the programme. Programme Structure Standard Three Year Course This is the standard three year degree course with an optional sandwich placement between years 2 and 3, leading to the award of BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology (Sandwich). Constructing Applications and [Developing General-Purpose Applications ordeveloping Business Applications]In the last three weeks of Semester 1, after the Christmas vacation, everyone does the integrative assignment. This contributes to Discrete Mathematical Analysis,Socio-Technical Analysis of 0_7140_1213 finalised on 15/11/2012 by Clive Hayton (3/5)

4 Requirements and i-culture. So that you can concentrate on it, Software Development for Business will have all assessment complete before the Christmas vacation. You will be free to choose one of the two units Developing General-Purpose Applications or Developing Business Applications depending on your interests. It is intended that the difference in content between these two units will help you to make an appropriate decision as to the software development unit in Level 5 Semester 1 that will be most suitable, and to prepare for pathway choices before Level 5 Semester 2.
