2 YOUR STATEMENT OF ENTRY EXPLAINED The top section of your statement of entry contains your personal details and must be checked thoroughly: A unique four digit number that you must put on each exam paper when they ask for your exam / candidate number Check Correct Check Correct Check correct Check correct Check correct Don t worry about 1000 Don t worry about Don t worry about This is the name by which you are known in school Check correct This is your legal name not that which you are necessarily known as. It is this name which will show on your certificates If there are any mistakes or anything you don t understand you must ask the Exams Officer

5 YOUR STATEMENT OF ENTRY EXPLAINED Level and Type of Qualification GCE/ASB shows an AS level unit entry or CASH IN GCE/B shows a unit exam entry with AQA or OCR GCE/A shows an A level unit entry or CASH IN

6 YOUR STATEMENT OF ENTRY EXPLAINED EXAM ENTRY CODES Unit entry codes (including coursework) for: AQA/ OCR/ EDEXCEL- start with a letter / letters followed by 2 / 3 digits WJEC unit entries are made up of a 6 digit number starting with a 1

7 YOUR STATEMENT OF ENTRY EXPLAINED CASH INS: A CASH IN tells you that you can expect to get an overall grade for that subject on results day in the summer. Depending on the exam board a CASH IN will appear in a number of ways: AQA CASH INs are shown by a 4 digit number followed by the subject name and the letters AS for AS Level and ADV for A level

8 YOUR STATEMENT OF ENTRY EXPLAINED CASH INS: A CASH IN tells you that you can expect to get a grade for that subject on results day in the summer. Depending on the exam board a CASH IN will appear in one of two ways: WJEC A level CASH INs are shown by a 6 digit number starting with a 3 and the words A Cash-in after the subject name AS Level CASH INs are shown by a 6 digit number starting with a 2 and the words AS Cash-in after the subject name

9 YOUR STATEMENT OF ENTRY EXPLAINED CASH INS: A CASH IN tells you that you can expect to get a grade for that subject on results day in the summer. Depending on the exam board a CASH IN will appear in one of two ways: OCR CASH INs are shown by a letter followed by 3 digits and JUST the subject name (without any unit names or titles)

10 YOUR STATEMENT OF ENTRY EXPLAINED CASH INS CONTINUED: You must check you have a CASH IN for each subject you are expecting an overall subject grade for. NO CASH IN = NO RESULT

12 YOUR STATEMENT OF ENTRY EXPLAINED Year 12: Charity of the Year NORTH WEST CANCER RESEARCH FUND Additional Information: You will not find any CASH IN entries listed on your statement of entry as these entries will be decided by your teachers after parents evening RESITS Resits will not appear on your statement of entry unless you have submitted a resit form and the relevant fees for this summer. Any resits wanting to be entered must be handed in to the exams office by 31 January. Forms are available from the exams office.

19 YOUR EXAM TIMETABLE EXPLAINED The element codes and names should match the exam codes from your Statement of Entry

20 YOUR EXAM TIMETABLE EXPLAINED Tells you the exact paper / exam you will be taking that day.

21 YOUR EXAM TIMETABLE EXPLAINED Concerns with Examination Start Times: If you have more than 1 exam timetabled to start at the same start time: 1) If the combined length of the exams is OVER 3 HOURS: one of the exams will be moved, but will still be on the same day you will receive a letter confirming the arrangements nearer the time 2) If the combined length of the exams is 3 HOURS OR LESS: you will sit one paper followed immediately by the other.
