Start with the first language class that applies to your major no later than the fall of your SOPHOMORE 3. Plan ahead to take your Capstone Seminar in the Fall or Spring of your SENIOR 4. For Chinese, Classics, French, German, and Norwegian: Work with your major advisor to choose your text(s) and supporting material for your capstone research by no later than the semester BEFORE your capstone seminar. If you want to MAJOR in a language that you HAVE taken before: 1. Take the placement test (Chinese, French, German, Hispanic Studies) or talk to the language faculty (Classics, Norwegian) RIGHT AWAY to know where to begin and to get credit for your work. 2. Start with the first language class that applies to your major no later than the fall of your SOPHOMORE 3. Plan ahead to take your Capstone Seminar in the Fall or Spring of your SENIOR
