4 What is CompEx? An International Scheme (based upon IEC Standard Parts 14 & 17) to recognise Core Competency for safe working in Explosive atmospheres Over 60,000 CompEx Certificates of Core Competency issued since 1994.

15 What are the requirements? In order to receive the CompEx Core Competency Certificate the candidate must pass the entry eligibility criteria and both a written examination and a practical assessment :- ENTRY CRITERIA - Qualified Craftsman s Certificate / Employer s Supporting Letter KNOWLEDGE EVIDENCE REQUIRED Written End test No: EX01JK PERFORMANCE EVIDENCE REQUIRED - CVT (Competence Validation Test EX01-Ex04 CVT) CompEx is much more than just a training course with a certificate of attendance, the candidate s underpinning knowledge and practical ability is developed and assessed to determine core competency to work safely in a workplace containing explosive atmospheres
