2 How were the requirements achieved? We built a computer network by creating an IP Address. To check the connectivity we used command Prompt to do a ping test. We installed, the switch, hub. Plugged the Ethernet cable in the back of the computer and also in the switch port. We called a group called MILKY WAY and then restarted the computer. We installed a shared network printer and tested it. We also gave access to different users in the workgroup to share folders and files. Lastly we also blocked access to sharing folders and files as well.

3 Explain how the final computer network is suitable for the intended original purpose. The final computer network is suitable for its intended purpose because it meets the user requirements: The customers are able to download music The staff are able to search for music the manager has asked for centralised printing, which can be done as all users are connected. One member of staff is able to set up users, and monitor and maintain the store s computers and network The network is cost effective The store has a suite of application software tools to effectively download music and facilitate management of the music and the music shop The network is secure via anti-virus software. The following have been added to the music network: Three high-spec computers - one computer to be used for sales and stock control, one computer for downloading music and for use in the classes for people learning how to use MP3 players, and one computer to be set up in the manager s office. An operating system and application software. They will need at least five shared folders and seven shared files, with different access permissions for different users.

4 Explain how the final computer network is suitable for the intended original purpose.

5 How is the User Experience affected by the network? (e.g. reliability, performance) The music network has computers which work at a great speed which is good for Windows 7, which is more efficient than windows 10. The performance of the computers are really good as the network is wired, which means that there is a stronger and faster connection with ethernet cables. Also the reliability will improve the network as i have used a switch, instead of a hub, as it is more intelligent.

6 What are the Constraints for the Music Network? (e.g. hardware and software availability). Hardware: If the music company s printer stops working, then they will have to adjust the settings on all of their computers so that each user is connected to the right one. Also the company also have to test out their network every so often to check it is working, this may be losing them money as they may have to close up business for a day or more. Software: If the company want to upgrade on their software, then they may have to close for one day and adjust the settings on all their computers.

7 Evaluate the initial designs against the final computer network In my initial design i decided to go with a hub instead of a switch as i thought they do the same thing, so what's the difference, but then i got to know that a switch is more intelligent than a hub. Also I used a bus topology in my first design which would have made the network not reliable, as if one node fails, so do the rest of them. So therefore making me include a star topology as it has more reliability. Also in my first design i chose to move all of the songs, albums to the back of the store, which wouldn't be very good as they would be face charges due to customers going in places not allowed.

8 Justify any changes that were made Windows 7, I have chosen this software as many people are more familiar with it. I have chosen to include a switch as it is more intelligent than a hub. Also i have chosen to have a star topology in the network because if one node fails, the whole of the network will still remain intact. I have also included a affordable price for the anti-virus software, so that it will not cause us any problems, if we buy it cheap.

9 Make recommendations for further improvements to the computer network. I would like to include the following: Two printers, so that it is more efficient and saves time. Extra computer, for backup purposes. The computers are not connected to the walls. The network to be wireless than wired.
