1 John L new Changes to 3.81 As with all my changes backup the original jar file first Reprint last Receipt. This reprints the last receipt on the current till. Once it is installed and a receipt printed, the process will then reprint the last receipt issued. Backup the original jar file and replace with the one attached. Then in resources create a new txt resource called. Printer.ReprintLastTicket and copy the contents of the attached xml. You are then ready to go New printer option Now added the ability to printer to a non serial printer (escpos compatible), without the use of extra hardware or virtual port drivers. (This has currently only been tested on Windows) so feedback from Linux or mac users will be helpful) To use goto Configuration Peripherals Set the printer mode ie Epson, Star etc. For the mode select the new option Raw For the port use a unique part the of the printer name, for the above example we have printer BTP-202NP(U) 1 and used BTP for the port details. Transparent buttons. You can now make the buttons on the table, meaning that you only see the button text and not the border.

2 To enable this option goto Configuration System Options Check the Transparent Buttons option. Update DB price from line edit. You can allow the database sell price to updated from the Edit ticket option if the user has the correct permissions. The Update button becomes active if you change the sell price of the product, you can the save this change for all future sales of the same product. To activate this options goto Configuration System Options Check the Update price from line edit option.

3 New sales Screen layout. A new sales screen lay out has been introduced, (as shown above). The category panel has been removed and the product panel enlarged. The button can have a different colour border based upon the category they belong in. To active the new sales screen goto Configuration System options Now check Use New Sales Screen, and restart the programme. To set the colour of the border, goto Administration Stock Categories Select the category Click on the colour picker

4 Select the colour and click OK, now save your update, then repeat for all the categories, that need a colour. The layout will arrange the products in order of category and then alphabetically. New product properties 2 new properties have been added to the product options. Short name The short name is property that is made available via the ticketline class used for printing receipts. It allow the user to display a short name (alias) for the product if the name is considered to be too long. It could also be used as a product identifier for scripts if required. To access use ${ticketline.printalias()}

5 Always available This feature will make the product always available in the product panel regardless of what category is been displayed. This flag overrides the Include catalogue flag. For example if you are required to charge for a plastic carrier bag, you really do not want to have to keep switching categories to get at it. Shown below if the carrier bag on each category section.

6 Using the new Role Admin tree One of the frustrations with setting up the user rights in UnicentaOpos, is the text based editor. This edit is not very user friendly and offers on help to the user on what each class does. With this in mind a new method of handling the roles was written. The roles panel has been changed, to accommodate this new panel, but if the user prefers the Original panel can be reactivated. The 2 panels can work together, the new process creates a text file that is available for the text editor. To add the following it in the Menu.Root Resource. submenu.addpanel("/com/openbravo/images/roles.png", "Menu.RolesOriginal", com.openbravo.pos.admin.rolespaneloriginal"); And then using the Roles panel grant the user the rights to it. (text Based Roles Administration). Using the tree The process is designed to provide assistance to the user, by displaying a help message. This message is activated by either clicking in the check box or the displayed name of the option.

7 There is also the option to add your own roles to the system. Click Add new entry There are 2 ways to enter the data into the system Prefix the entry with ##, (this does not apply to the Classname) Enter the details exactly Any data that is prefixed with ## will read from the permissions_messages file in the locales folder. The classname is the only field that does not support translation, this must relate to the class in java.

8 In the above image, section will be translated from permissions_messages, this translation occurs at run time, which will allow for the file to by translated into other languages. All the other fields will be read as they have been entered. When the settings are saved, the system checks to see if you are attempting to save a user with no permissions. If you respond No the permissions are reset to those before you made any changes. Deleting item sent to the kitchen You can prevent a user form deleting any item sent to the kitchen, The permissions to do this is now controlled using the new Admin roles panel There is a selection under Register Options for Delete Kitchen Items If the user then attempts to remove an item sent to the kitchen they get message. This option does not stop them from deleting lines, not sent to the kitchen.

9 Layaways Changes A change has been made to the way the layaways work, ( this will under go some more changes in the next release, to all a selected user to see all layaways). If you add the line sharedticket.currentuser=true to the unicenteopos.properties file, the system will then only shows layaways allocated to the logged in user. As part of this the display has been changed to make a more visual method of informing if there are any layaways stored. The pin colour changes to green, when there are some available. Printer Logo If you are using a printer that has the ability to store logo into the NVRAM of the unit, you can now access these when printing a receipt. <logo>x</logo> where x is the logo number in memory from 1 to 255, if you enter a number outside this range the system will default to the first logo location. QRCode You can now print a QRcode on the receipt, please be aware that this can be very dependant upon the resolution of the printer for reading. <qrcode> </qrcode> Price update from sales Screen If a user has the correct permissions, they can now update the selling price from the main sales panel. To enable the function use the Role editor and select Register Option Update Product Price for the user.

10 If user now selects edit price from the sales panel, a new button will appear on the panel The button will remain disabled until a change in the selling price has been made. Clicking this button will now update the selling price for the product in the database. An subsequent selections of the product will now reflect that change.
