4 Logging into the BakPak Mobile app With the BakPak Mobile app, manage and monitor your networks from your mobile device. Note: Before setting up the BakPak Mobile app, go to mybakpak.com (using a desktop or laptop) and create a BakPak account. Be sure to register the management agent or subagent. Tip: BakPak now supports sub-agents that connect directly to BakPak (without the need of the full management agent). Note: Please note that sub-agents have limited abilities compared to full management agents. To log in to the BakPak Mobile app: 1. On your mobile device, tap to open the BakPak Mobile app. 2. Enter your username and password and log in. Tip: If you do not have a BakPak account, you can register for one at mybakpak.com 3. If you do not remember your password, tap Forgot Password. A password reset will be sent to the address listed on your account. 4

5 Creating a site WR-1 Wireless Router User Guide Creating a site using a full management agent (NK-1/RK-1) To create a site using a full management agent (NK-1/RK-1): 1. Open the BakPak Mobile app and tap the Menu icon (upper right). 2. Select Add New Site. 5

6 3. When adding a new site, you may add a full management agent (e.g. NK-1/RK-1) or a subagent (direct to cloud, e.g. WR-1). The instructions below explain how to add a management agent. To add a sub-agent, please see Creating a site using a sub-agent. To add a management agent (e.g. NK-1 or RK-1) 1. Tap Agent. 2. In the new screen, enter the Site Name and Site Address. 3. Under Associated Management Agent, tap Mgmt Agent and select an agent that has been registered to your BakPak account. 4. If you have multiple VLANs, be sure to add them here. Tap on Edit VLANs. Enter the VLAN IP Address, Subnet Mask, and VLAN ID. If you have more than one VLAN, tap Add new row. (The example below shows VLAN1 and VLAN2). 6

7 5. When you are done, tap Close. 6. Tap Create to create the site and return to the List view. 7

8 Creating a site using a sub-agent Note: The WR-1 wireless router now supports direct connection to BakPak. Sub-agent devices (such as the WR-1) support only a portion of the features included in the current management agent. This means the WR-1 does not have the capability of scanning the whole network and monitoring other devices on the network. To add a subagent device: 1. On your mobile device, log in to the BakPak Mobile app. 2. Tap the Menu icon (upper right) and select Add New Site. 8

9 3. Select Sub-Agent. 9

10 4. Enter the site information: Site Name, Device Name and Device Location (e.g. office, home, etc.). 5. From the Subagent drop down, select a sub-agent that has been registered to your account. Then tap Create to register the sub-agent. 10

11 6. To finish the process, log into the WR-1 management portal (mybakpak.com) and select BakPak. You have successfully created a site and added a sub-agent. The new sub-agent site will display on the Site list view. 11

12 Adding additional sub-agent devices to a site After creating a site, you will be able to add a sub-agent device with the Subagent dropdown menu. To add more sub-agent devices to a site: 1. Open the BakPak Mobile app. 2. Go into the Site and tap the Menu icon (upper right). 3. Select Add Device. 12

13 Sub-agent functionality The sub-agent device displays three tabs: Information, SSID Config, and Notes. Use these tabs to view information, update your wireless configuration, and add notes. 13

14 Information: Under Information, view details about the device (e.g. up time, IP Address, Serial Number, Firmware Version, etc.). 14

15 SSID Config: Under SSID Config, update your wireless configuration. Update your SSID name, enable/disable SSID broadcasting, change the security profile applied to the SSID, and update the password for the security profile. The WR-1 supports two SSIDs (one regular SSID and one Guest SSID) on the 2.4GHz band and two SSIDs on the 5GHz band (one regular SSID and one Guest SSID). SSID Name: Change the SSID name: Tap SSID Name box and enter a new SSID name. Enable/disable SSID: Use the Enabled switch to enable/disable SSID broadcasting. 15

16 Sec Profile: To change the security profile applied to the SSID: 1. Tap the Sec Profile box. 2. Select the desired profile. 16

18 To change the password and encryption on the security profile: 1. Tap Edit. 2. After making any changes, tap Save. 18

20 Notes: Under Notes, the dealer/technician can record changes made to a site or device. 20

21 Viewing the geographical map If addresses were provided during the initial site setup, you will be able to show where your agents are located (with Google Maps). To view the geographical map: 1. Open the BakPak Mobile app. 2. Go into the Site and tap Map at the bottom right. 21

22 Scanning for devices (Full management agent functionality only. Not supported on Sub-Agents). Open the app and tap the site for which you would like to discover devices. To scan a new or empty site: 1. After creating a new site (or opening a site without devices), the app will ask if you would like to scan for devices. 2. Tap Yes to scan for devices. (A status bar indicates scan progress). 3. When the scan is complete, the app displays a list of all scanned devices. 4. Tap to select the devices you would like to add to your site. Tip: To add all scanned devices to the site, tap Select All. 22

23 5. After selecting all desired devices, tap Add (upper right). 6. A list of the newly added devices (and their IP addresses and Zones) displays. 7. You have successfully created your BakPak profile on the mobile app. If you have any questions, please contact support at

25 Manually adding devices To add a device manually: 1. Open the BakPak Mobile app. 2. Tap the site where you would like to add devices. 3. Tap the Menu icon and select Add a Device. 25

26 4. Complete the form. Tip: When adding unmanaged devices, the IP address can be set to (An unmanaged device does not have an IP address). 5. When you are ready, tap Add. 26

27 Editing or deleting devices Editing devices To edit a device s settings: 1. Tap a site to display a list of its devices. 2. Tap and hold the device you wish to edit, then swipe right. 3. Tap Edit. 4. Make any changes and tap Save. Deleting devices To delete a device: 1. Tap a site to display a list of its devices. 2. Tap and hold the device you would like to delete and then swipe right. 3. Tap Delete. Speed test (Full management agent feature only) From the app, run a speed test for any site with a full management agent (e.g. NK-1 and RK-1). 27

Speedtest shows the 7-day average download and upload speeds for the site. 2. Tap Speedtest and then tap the blue Play button to run a speed test. Results display below. 28

30 Changing the BakPak password To change the BakPak password: 1. Open the BakPak Mobile app. 2. From the Sites view, tap the Menu icon and tap Settings > Change Password. 3. Enter your old password, type a new password, and confirm it. 4. Tap Change to save your changes. 30

31 PDU and PoE switch functions Naming ports and controls To rename ports and controls: 1. Open a site. 2. From the site s device list, select the PDU or PoE switch. 3. In the next screen, view or edit its settings. a. Tap Control to see a list of all controllable ports/outlets. b. Tap and hold the outlet/port and let go. A list of options displays. c. Tap Rename. Enter a name and tap OK. Tip: If needed, you can also Turn Off or Power Cycle a port/outlet. 31
