11 Redundancy All 550XG series switch support redundant power through RPS connector on the back panel Back panel of 550XG switch Compatible with Cisco RPS2300 redundant power system One RPS2300 can be connected to up to 6 550XG switches, and actively backup 2 devices at a time. Fan redundancy is provided through preinstalled N+1 fans, while the switch can work for its lifetime with only N fans. 12 Energy-Efficient Technology Auto Power-Down EEE (802.3az) support lowers power during low traffic quiet periods Detects the length of connected Ethernet cable and adjusts power usage accordingly without affecting performance Automatically turns off power when the switch detects a link down If there is no link on a port (when there is no connection or the device connected is turned off), the port(s) enter a sleep mode Resumes active mode when the switch detects the link is up or a device is connected
