4 2. Safety Instructions Advice before Use Read these instructions carefully. As soon as the equipment is delivered, open packing and inspect the equipment carefully. If you notice any damage, contact the transport company immediately and register your complaint in due form listing the defects. Check if the received equipment is consistent with the delivery note and if this delivery note is consistent with your order. If it is not, contact your supplier immediately. General Remarks This Video Node is lighting equipment designed for professional indoor use in theatres and television or film studios. Designed and built in accordance with EN and EN regulations, it must imperatively be connected to earth by means of its earth wire. To prevent any electrical shock, this equipment should not be opened when it is powered up. Access to internal parts is not required for normal operation. Important Remark Power supply cables and other connections are essential for your equipment and contribute greatly to a safe and trouble free operation. Always pull the plug when disconnecting a cable, never pull the cable. Never use cables or connectors in bad condition, check them before installation and periodically thereafter. Never tie power supply and data cables together. Electrical Connection This Video Node is designed for operating at a nominal voltage of 100 to 240 V 50/60 hz. For your own safety, make sure the earth wire (yellow-green) is ALWAYS connected to earth. WARNING: LETHAL VOLTAGE PRESENT INSIDE! Manual - page 2 Video Node

5 3. Introduction 3.1. Description The Video Node is a portable unit which receives ISIS formatted screens from any ISIS device on the ADB Network (ArtNet) or by USB from an ISIS console. It is also possible to have a wireless connection with a Wi-Fi CF card.(optional) The Video Node has 2 SVGA outputs; each output can reproduce any ISIS formatted screen Video Node includes Video Node Power cable USB cable User manual 3.3. 6 4. Get connected There are different ways to connect the Video Node. The video node can communicate with an ISIS console in any of the following modes: 1. USB 2. ADB Network (Ethernet / ArtNet) 3. ADB Wi-Fi Network (Wi-Fi Ethernet / ArtNet) The Video Node will Auto-detect the mode used. Important note Video Node is only able to work in one mode at a time. Before using the Video Node; select the mode you want to use. Inserting the Wi-Fi option will automatically disable USB and ADB Network (Ethernet cable). You can switch modes by simply rebooting the Video Node. Important note The Video Node only works with ISIS versions 2.17 & up. Manual - page 4 Video Node

7 4.1. Mode 1: USB Connect a Video Node to a stand-alone-desk Connect the Video Node with a standard USB cable to an ISIS desk. (USB device connector on the Video Node to USB port on the ISIS console cable included with the Video Node). Important note Required start-up sequence: 1. Connect the Video Node to the ISIS console. 2. Power-up the ISIS console and the Video Node at the same time. 8 Connect the Video Node with one or two monitors. VGA 1 output will be monitor 2 in ISIS software; VGA 2 output will be monitor 3 in ISIS software. DATA Remark: It is possible to connect more than one Video Node to the same ISIS console; but they will remain monitor 2 and 3 in ISIS software. 9 4.2. Mode 2: ADB Network Connect a Video Node to a stand-alone desk (no Ethernet switch) Connect the Video Node ETHERNET port with an Ethernet cross-link cable to an ISIS desk. Connect the Video Node with one or two monitors. The information appearing on ports VGA 1 and VGA 2 can be easily patched in the ISIS software. 12 To enable the VGA outputs it is necessary to configure the ISIS console: Go to the Netgate s configuration and Screen Configuration 4 chapters on your console Connect a Video Node to the ADB Network Connect the Video Node with an Ethernet patch cable to an Ethernet Switch on your ADB Network. 13 4.3. Mode 3: ADB Wi-Fi Network ADB Wi-Fi Network An ADB Wi-Fi Network is required for this mode. This implies the presence of a wireless Access Point on the ADB Network Configure Video Node The configuration of the Video Node is only necessary if the Network uses a SSID and Web Encryption. If the Network has no SSID and Web Encryption then go to chapter Connect the Video Node to Wi-Fi Network The IP address of the Video Node is necessary to configure the Video Node. If an SSID and WEP Encryption is used for the Network, you need to know the IP address of the Video Node. How to find the IP address of the Video Node? Remove CF wireless card if present. Connect VGA1 output of the Video Node to a monitor without the CF wireless card. The monitor will display: ADB Videonode V 1.11 (Screen 1) Switch OxF IP 2.xxx.xxx.xxx To configure the Video Node it is necessary to give a fixed IP address to your PC 5. We strongly recommend that you make a note of your original settings on the PC before you modify any. This will help you to restore the original configuration of the PC later on. 1. 15 Open the Web browser on the PC and surf to (IP address of the Video Node. Fill in 'adb' for user name and press OK. The Video Node Webpage opens. Select the Wi-Fi option. Video Node Manual page 13

16 Configure the Video Node: ESSID (SSID = service set identifier): the name of the Wireless Network (e.g. Studio1) Encryption Key: 64bits 10 HEX. digits or 128bits 26 HEX digits Click on Save ; the configuration has been completed Connect the Video Node to the Wi-Fi Network Insert the CF Wireless card in the Video Node; power up the Video Node. The Video Node is now a part of your Wi-Fi Network. Configuration is similar to connecting the Video Node to a stand-alone desk. See chapter Connect Video Node to a stand-alone desk.
