11 The perfect combination for seamless 40G/43G commissioning and turn-up Combining the FTB-8140 (40G/43G SONET/SDH), FTB-5240S-P (OSA) and the FTB-8130NGE (multiservice) modules in EXFO s FTB-500 portable platform provides a unique testing solution for commissioning 40G/43G links and turning up legacy and packet-based services. The FTB-8140/5240S-P combo offers simultaneous 40G/43G BER testing and in-band OSNR measurement to speed up 40G network commissioning and address ROADM-specific testing needs. These capabilities are enhanced by the FTB-500 s integrated tools power meter, visual fault locator and fiber inspection probe enabling you to simplify the field-testing experience. Once the 40G/43G link is commissioned, you can replace the FTB-5240S-P OSA module with the FTB-8130NGE multiservice module to address client service turnup testing requirements. Client services carried over 40G networks can vary from legacy TDM services to packet-based services like Ethernet and Fibre Channel. EXFO s powerful FTB-8130NGE offers multiple testing capabilities, namely DSn/PDH, SONET/SDH, Ethernet and Fibre Channel at up to 10G. These capabilities include standard SONET/SDH BER testing and ITU-T Y.1564 EtherSAM for Ethernet service activation.
