3 INTRODUCTION This manual concerns the instructions for managing the web-server generated by the module LAN-Wifi. Module Wifi-LAN Carambola : MD-WIFI The module Carambola adds a LAN/wifi interface to the controller. It has a proper MAC Address indicated by the sticker showed on the shield of the module. 4 The module MD-WIFI Carambola generates a proper Wifi field, with proper coordinates, manages the LAN connection and generates a Data-base of information correlated with the information memorized in the controller Ermu. WiFi Access Point (AP) [Factory setting ] In this case the web server generates an indipendent wifi field that can be connected through a point-to-point from any wifi device ( mobilephone, Tablet, PC, etc,) ; 2. WiFi Station The Ermu with its own web server can be connected to a local wifi router, assigning an IP address ( static or in DHCP). You need to specify the network parameters as the IP address, the Subnetmask, the Gateway address, etc. 3. LAN ( Client) The LAN module allows to make Ermu as part of a LAN. Even in that case you must specify the network parameters. 5 GETTING STARTED The controller, with the MD-WIFI on board, operates, by factory, as WIFI Access Point. You can connect with it from your access device ( PC, Tablet or Smartphone) through a point-to-point communication, detecting first of all the wifi field generated by the module. Among the possible different wifi local fields found by your device, look for the one identified by the following number: ermu-xx:xx.xx Where the XX.XX.XX are the last 3 couples of characters of the MAC address of the MD-WIFI Module, as showed in the sticker of the module. The Wifi access is encrypted WPA/WPA2 Mixed and protected by the password : adminadmin. Typing the password you get the connection to the wifi module. Then open your browser : automatically you will be redirected to the login page of the module. If it doesn t happen, type : and you will be prompted to the login AREA. You can login as User, Configurator or Guest. Guest enabled for navigation only, and cannot change anything. Each one has his own password. Default passwords are for everyone. It is an alphanumeric string. 6 CONNECT MU On this page you can access to the master, or to a Slave target on local RS485 network. The Authorization Password at this level is the same defined in the device (default : ). The address to select identifies the Ermu to communicate with and it is set inside the controller. Mark the Flag Slave target to login into a slave Ermu, connected to the Master through the RS485 network and specify the address of the Master and the Slave 6

7 MAIN MU - SETTINGS CHANGE PASSWORD Configurator can change the password of the Guest and of the User, and his own too, without knowing the current value. CONFIRM will save. User can change his and guest password. The Guest cannot change any password. 7

8 MAIN MU CONNECT Press Connect to make in connection with the Controller Ermu specified. On this page you can access to: Controller Configuration : set relays functions and scheduler setup for the time zone; Devices : add and remove or list RF remotes and wiegand RFID ; manage batch operations Event History : display and sort logs, and export (* see note) Utility : test LCD and buzzer of the controller, synchronize WS and with the PC time; Backup/ Restore relay configuration and S/N of the remotes and tags (* see note) Info : display device info. Disconnect : quit the communication with the controller Main Menu : for User Data Base, Settings, Connect, Web Logs Exit to close communication with the WS. If there is no activity, a timeout of 5 minutes will force to exit. A new login will be necessary. 8

10 MAIN MU CONNECT DEVICES Devices : add, remove or list RF remotes and wiegand RFID ; manage batch operations. With NEW you can add a device (the row will become green), remember to SAVE! You can sort by column, and filter by name. Edit using the pencil icon. Remove with X, remember to SAVE! You can tic the square box to select the devices to be removed, remember to SAVE! 13 BATCH OPERATIONS You can select the wiegand code format : Decimal 8, Decimal 3-5, Hex 10, Hex 6. 13

14 MAIN MU CONNECT EVT HISTORY Event History : to display and sort logs, and export (* see note) 14

15 If leave empty the DATE BOX you will see all the event history You can filter the events by the beginning date and hour. Show all events box : in case of realtime clock failure, you will eventually events in the future. Ex. 08/11/2034. If you want a real time upgrade of the events : click on the second box. You can export in.cws format. (* see note) You can order by column ascending or descending, and filter by column name, or select. 15

16 By the Columns button you can deselect the unused column (useful on tablet and smartphone) Then click on the button again to close the selection windows. 16

17 MAIN MU CONNECT UTILITY BACKUP/RESTORE NOTE : BACKUP/RESTORE and EXPORT functions are Operative System depending : it is working only on PC, sometimes on Android. They don t work on Apple devices. 17

18 MAIN MU CONNECT INFO DATA BASE with NAMES Important Note : Receiver is a device working with Serial Numbers only, Ermu WiFi with DB of Names has the data base of names. When you connect a tablet, ErmuWiFi will add names to the information (list of serial number or Logs) coming out from Ermu Receiver. You have to assign to the Names the serial numbers. Serial Numbers must be loaded into the Ermu Receiver. Names must be loaded into Ermu WiFi, and to the Name must be added his Serial Numbers. NOTE : S/N into Ermu Receiver and S/N into Ermu WiFi are two independent entities. When you add e S/N to a Name nothing happens into the Ermu Receiver. When you remove the Name from a S/N, Ermu Receiver is still working with that S/N enabled. 18

19 MAIN MU USER Only Configurator is authorized to the User Menu Press the button NEW to add a new user to the list and write, at least, the name. The red square will signal you have not yet saved : press Save to save, or User menu to exit without saving. You can also associate an RF or TAG device typing the number in any format and the Description of the device. NOTE : the device associated here are not automatically saved into the Receiver: they must be added into the receiver from the Main Menu Connect Devices Menu. 19

20 You List all the users, Sort by Name or or Note. Edit by the blue pencil icon. Delete all, or selecting by flag or X Icon. Here the list is filtered by the a character : only the names with the a character inside are displayed. 20

21 MAIN MU SETTINGS NETWORKING Only Configurator is authorized to access to the Network Menu, with the Network Settings There are 3 operating modes: 1. Even in that case you must specify the network parameters. Selecting the type of operating mode you will see the corresponding parameters set for the controller 21

22 WIFI ACCESS POINT Point-to-Point connection Selecting the Wifi AP, the system will prompt an identification number composed by a part of the MAC Address of the LAN Module. The Encryption key,by factory, is the following: adminadmin 22

23 WIFI STATION Static address or DHCP (*) Internet. (*) : Even if it is possible to operate in DHCP for the addressing of the Ermu Wifi, it is highly recommended to use static address for identifying the Device inside the network. These are WiFi Stations : clients of an existing WiFi network with or without DHCP services. The password to dial for entering is the passsword of the local wifi network. 23

24 LAN ( CLIT ) WiFi module has also a 10/100 Mbit cable LAN connector LAN Internet. Static address or DHCP (*) (*) : highly recommended to use static address for identifying the Device inside the network. In case of LAN network, specify the parameters: Mode : DHCP or Static In case of static you must specify : IP Address Subnet mask Gateway DNS Server 24

25 ACCESSING FROM INTERNET Smartphone (PC or tablet ) LAN Static address Firewall Public IP Address Static or dynamic Internet. For accessing the Ermu through the WEB, the internal LAN address of Ermu must be accessible from outside. It is possible to specify a the parameters of a DDNS ( Dynamic DNS ) service. (1) Example of the use of a DDNS service ( free ), called : no-ip.com. Follow the specifications of the DDNS Service provider for the setting of the corresponding parameters, that must be typed in the proper fields of the windows. 25

26 (1) The Dynamic Domain Name System ( DDNS ) is a technology that allows a DNS name to be always associated to the IP address of the same Host, even if the address changes with the time. The settings of the Router and the Firewall must be done by the network administrator, who has to open the proper ports in the Firewall for the accessing the network from outside. The accessing to Ermu can be done both in Wifi Station and in LAN configuration. The example shows how to use the Service of DDNS offered by the provider no-ip.com, that is a free service. More DDNS service providers can be found in the pop-up menu available. Given that the accessing from outside can affect the security of the LAN, the setting must be done by an EXPERT network manager! 26

27 P1 : RESET MODULE CRASH RECOVERY If for any reason the module MD-WIFI stops working, it is possible to restart it. Follow the procedure below. Green LED 1) press and keep pressed the button P2 2) keeping P2 pressed, Press P1 for 1 sec. 3) keep P2 still pressed until the GRE LED makes a Flash P2 : RESTORE At the end of the procedure, the data-base of the users remains unchanged but all the changes carried out on the working parameters have been restored to factory values. That means that the Module will restart operating as WIFI AP, with the factory coordinates for accessing ( ermu-xx:xx:xx ) where XX:XX:XX are the characters of the MAC Address and password : adminiadmin. After a restart, the module can also be seen inside a LAN both at the static address previously assigned by the router or at the address Another system to access the module, is to make a direct connection with a PC ( isolated from other networks) using a LAN cable.
