3 Affects your house price It is the fourth utility after water, electricity and gas and there s growing evidence that absence of fast broadband can indeed impact the value of a home or make it harder to rent. 7 Current Situation 1. Many people have changed supplier since last 2013 survey. Less than half are now using BT but most are still on the same Openreach copper infrastructure. 2. Speeds vary between 1.5 Mb/s and 28Mb/s. Most are getting below 7 Mb/s 3. Reliability is variable, and poorer along Underhill 4. Poor relationship of measured speeds with published Openreach data

8 Fibre Solutions We ve received proposals for Fibre To the Cabinet (FTTC) and Fibre To the Premise (FTTP) FTTC costs 75,000; FTTP costs 153,000 We ve received a proposal to extend FTTP coverage to Leigh Common This will cost an additional 110,000

13 Fibre To The Premise Head End - Broadband Exchange Phone There will be numerous distribution points (DP) around the village. The ISP will be responsible for connecting from DP to premise. The cost for doing this varies between 0 and 60.

15 What will FTTP give us? What speed do I need? 16 Recommendation We recommend planning for FTTP if we can get the necessary funding. This will allow for upgrading the existing copper wire infrastructure and to be ready for future needs. This will provide us with a faster, more reliable service.
