We can solder these to your strip orders on request. MOUNTING CHANNELS & PROFILES Mounting channels are highly recommended for LED strips for several reasons. The aluminium body of the mounting channel acts as a heat sink helping to dissipate heat and protect the LEDs. The cooler LEDs run, the better for the life of the LED, less colour shift with time and greater efficiency etc plus they offer a measure of physical protection from knocks and dust accumulation making cleaning easier. LENS OPTIONS Lens' for the mounting channels come in clear, frosted or opal options. Clear generally for cove lighting where the LEDs can't be seen and facing up to ceilings. Frosted when facing down when, for example, under kitchen cabinets where the eye may get a glimpse. Opal when the LEDs can be seen and the opal helps to take away the intense point source of the light or spotting effect. ACCESSORIES Endcaps with wire exit holes and endcaps without wire exit holes available for all channels. Mounting brackets available for surface mounted channels. Recessed channels usually glued into place or fixed using countersunk screws through the bottom of the channels. LENGTHS Most channels available in m lengths and can be cut to required sizes on request. m lengths courier well and are protected in cardboard poster tubes. We provide a cut to length service. P

41 Drivers Constant Voltage Constant Voltage (CV) drivers or power supplies are usually 1VDC or 4VDC for LED strip and for LED MR16/11 lamps usually 1VDC. They provide a fixed voltage and are rated in watts with a rated maximum current draw. Most will happily work from 1 Watt up to their max load. Usually lights wired to these are wired in parallel. We recommend loading a power supply to approx 80% of its max continuous rated load. LED lamps like MR16/11 will have a far greater life when run on DC power supplies rather than AC. If you are swapping from halogen lamps to LED lamps then we recommend your change the down light transformer for a DC driver. 46 LED Flood Lights LED flood lights are a great replacement for linear halogen flood lights and in some cases metal halide floods. They use approximately 70% less power than linear halogen, run far cooler, are far less fragile and have an expected led life of up to 50,000hours. They are mostly not as efficient as metal halide floods, however, they do have some advantages. They are instant start and instant restart whereas metal halide typically will take several minutes to reach full output.
