4 Page 4 Chapter 1 Overview and Installation 1.1 Introduction The purpose of the CliniLogger device is to save the CritiCool /Allon2001 systems' vital data for further reference. By means of the CliniLogger Viewer software, the user can use an external PC to review this saved data. 1.2 Using the CliniLogger Application The CliniLogger device connects to the RS-232 (serial) connector in the rear of the CritiCool /Allon2001 for data transfer. Data is saved every one minute while the device is connected. Connect the CliniLogger device to the CritiCool /Allon2001 before the start of the medical procedure. MTRE recommends recording CritiCool /Allon2001 device data for one patient at a time. At the end of the procedure, disconnect the CliniLogger device from the ThermoREgulation machine and connect to a PC. Download the data from the device and then reconnect the Clinlogger to the Thermoregulation machine so it is ready for the next procedure. 1.3 The CliniLogger Software The CliniLogger device is supplied with a CliniLogger Viewer software CD to be installed on a PC for downloading and viewing the saved data from the CritiCool /Allon Installing the Software Install the CliniLogger software as follows: 1. Double-click on My Computer and open the CD drive. 2. Double-click on the Installer folder. 3. Double-click on the Volume folder 4. Double-click on setup (installer); the install window opens. 5. Click Next or select a new location by using Browse. 4

5 Page 5 6. On the next window please accept the license agreement 7. Wait until Setup procedure will be finish. 5

6 Page 6 8. Click Next for downloading and then click Finish to complete and exit the software installation. 9. Copy "CliniLogger Viewer for User Ver 1.2" folder to your desktop, from CD. 10. Open "CliniLogger Viewer for User Ver 1.2" folder and open the Clinilogger.exe file. 6

7 Page 7 Chapter 2: Using the CliniLogger Viewer Application 2.1 Downloading Data from the Clinilogger Device to the CliniLogger Viewer Application on the PC Start the CliniLogger application as follows: From the Windows Start menu, click Programs CliniLogger. Click on the CliniLogger icon. Verify that the CliniLogger application window is opened. Connect the CliniLogger device to the serial COM1 port of the PC. NOTE: Verify that the CliniLogger device is connected to the COM 1 10 port or you can use with USB to RS232 adaptor. Click on Connect to Logger, the software will trace the COM port where the CliniLogger is connected wait for the message Connected Click on Load Logger data, wait for the message Complete Click on Store data; choose a file and a location. Click on View data - the graph will open Click on Convert to Excel the data will be presented in Excel format Click on Clear logger after saving the data to prepare the device for the next use. Figure 1: CliniLogger Application Window NOTE: The user should erase the data on the CliniLogger manually after each patient. Otherwise, the CliniLogger will continue to burn data from the last patient. 7

8 2.2 Viewing Downloaded Data Double click on the CliniLogger Viewer icon. User Manual - CliniLogger Page 8 Click on "Load Stored Data", choose the file you would like to view. Wait for the message Complete Click on View data - the graph will open Click on Convert to Excel the data will be presented in Excel format 2.3 CliniLogger Viewing panel Figure 1: CliniLogger viewing panel The top row of the CliniLogger viewing panel includes the following data, shown from left to right: The Start date and time received from the thermoregulation device (CritiCool / Allon) The software version of the thermoregulation device "Close Window" key On the left side of the panel are all the control keys In the center is a graphic presentation of the Thermoregulation system variables. 2.4 Graphic Display Area 8

10 Page Function selection area Figure 3: Function Selection area The function selection area includes the keys that provide manipulation of the "Graphic Display area for Zooming in and out, moving between time zones and detailing the viewed data Temperature Graph Control buttons: These buttons define the shape of the curves in the temperature graphs area and the water heat/cool graph and the water flow graph. Temperature Settings Garment Settings Errors/TempStep Settings Curve buttons Temperature graph display buttons. allows to modify the display of each of the temperature graphs The following details the Core temperature line modification Same rules are for the Surface or Set-point curves. 10

11 Page 11 Use the Temperature Setting toggle buttons each of the temperature graphs to show or delete the Color buttons These buttons give the abilities to change the graph features and colors. It is Recommended to keep the default settings View manipulation buttons A set of three buttons is show under the temperature buttons Hand - When the "Hand"is pressed- bring the mouse to the temperature graph area, and click on the hand simultaneously moving the mouse right. This will move the graphs horizontally, in time, or vertically, in temperature. Zoom Pressing the Zoom button shows 6 modes of zoom use: Use to bring the curves to an un-zoomed display Use to Zoom-out symmetrically in both X and Y axis Use to Zoom-in symmetrically in both X and Y axis Use to Zoom-in, in the Y (temperature) direction. Use the mouse to bring the + circle to the lower temperature limit, click to insert the low limit line, keep the left key pressed and pool vertically. Release the key to view the temperature graphs zoomed in the selected vertical area Use to Zoom-in, in the X (time) direction Use the mouse to bring the + circle to the required point of time, click to insert the low limit line, keep the left key pressed and pool horizontally to the end of the interesting time. 11

12 Page 12 Release the key to view the temperature graphs zoomed in to the selected time span. Use to create an XY box Zoom-in. Bring the + circle to the interesting area, and use the mouse to create a box of temperatures and time. When the mouse is released the box will Zoom-in to cover the whole waveform are Cursor use this key to move the cursor along the time scale. Use the mouse to bring the + to the location of the cursor and pull the cursor to the left (up time) or to the right (down time) The time at the cursor location is shown in the box below, the waveform control keys >> To set the cursor at a user selected time Use the keyboard to set the required time Use the mouse to click on the word Cursor The cursor will move to the selected time spot. >> To return to full time scale after zoom actions Click on >> To move the cursor, in time (X direction Select Cursor Bring the + to the cursor location, The + will convert to a double line (ІІ) Move the mouse double line to any cursor location Note that the value of the temperatures at the cursor location appears in the window adjacent to the curve color window Modes and Error area This area provides the following information Treatment mode marked by letters and a vertical line (See table XXX) 12

These parameters have two states, thus a bar and not a curve, is the optimal way to demonstrate them. 13

14 Page 14 Heat/Cool- When the Device is cooling the water in the tank- the line is blue. When the device is warming the Water in the Tank- the line is red. Pump On/Off- When the Pump is pumping water into the Wrap- the line is green. When the device is circulating the water internally (as in "standby mode" for example, the line is white) Converting to Excel >> On the CliniLogger menu panel (Figure 1) select : "Convert to Excel" An Excel file will open with two options: A table of measurement (Sheet 1) See below Figure 4 Figure 4 : section of Excel table 14
