3 EthernetIP MAC00-EI - Has been around since 2001 and is maintained by ODVA - Used extensively for Rockwell CompactLogix and ControlLogix applications - JVL EthernetIP implementation is officially conformance tested by ODVA

4 EtherCAT MAC00-EC - Extensively used by Beckhoff. - Support of CiA402 and synchronization - Very fast cycletime down to 360uS - Tested with Beckhoff and TRIO motion controllers.

5 ProfiNet MAC00-EP - Extensively used by Siemens - Supports DCP (startup with blank, autoconfiguration from the PLC)

6 ModBusTCP MAC00-EM - Old and reliable system used in many SCADA and control applications - Derived from the earlier standard MODBUS RTU (also supported by JVL) - Basically makes an Ethernet connection directly to the motor registers, using ModBus.

7 PowerLink MAC00-EP - Developed by B&R, used exclusively by B&R - JVL motors are tested with success at B&R in Austria. (Orange colored MAC141)

8 MacTalk over Ethernet - Configuration using serial or Ethernet - Connects over Ethernet to: - EthernetIP - ProfiNet - EtherCAT using EoE (Ethernet over EtherCAT) - ModbusTCP (Coming very soon) - How to connect to a motor on Ethernet

9 IP address settings All Ethernet modules shares the same way of cyclic and acyclic data transfer, except ModBusTCP, which addresses the registers in the motor directly. Cyclic input settings Cyclic output settings

10 Wireless technology supported by JVL - Wireless technology supported by JVL. - Both for MAC and MIS34x series. - Typically applications: - Battery operated applications. - Applications where cables are inappropriate. - Rotating applications. - Supports both Bluetooth and WirelessLan. - Bluetooth for small range small amount of nodes, small data throughput. - WirelessLan (WLAN) for many nodes and high data throughput. - Supports 2 communication protocols, JVL protocol and ModBus RTU. - Typically the ModBus RTU protocol is based on a serial connection but using a JVL rugged wireless box and the MAC-wireless module a ModBus RTU connection can be achieved. - MacTalk is able to communicate with the motor over WLAN, simply type in the IP address exactly the same way as with the Ethernet bus modules.

12 Future Solution Modbus TCP MAC and MIS34x series supports ModBusTCP PC or PLC or other device Benefits by using ModBusTCP directly: ModBusTCP is supported by more systems than ModBus RTU over TCP, so this should simplify the actual integration with the Control system. LabView is from the standard ModBus module supporting both ModBusRTU and ModBusTCP, but ModBus RTU is strictly based on a serial communication channel such as RS485.
