The user controls the unit by means of four keys beside the display: Key Main function Secondary function Temperature setpoint increase Scroll/increase variables and parameters Temperature setpoint decrease Scroll/decrease variables and parameters ON OFF Menu ESC function Access/scroll menus Setting save function Button (Plus) Press this button to access display of the current temperature setpoint, press it again to increase the setpoint in steps of 0.1 C each time it is pressed, or hold down for 5 to increase the setting at high speed. After 10 the device automatically quits the temperature setpoint setting function; to quit faster, press the on off key for a short time. This key is also used for surfing, scrolling and increasing within the various programming menus. Button (Minus) Press this button to access display of the current temperature setpoint, press it again to decrease the setpoint in steps of 0.1 C each time it is pressed, or hold down for 5 to decrease the setting at high speed. After 10 the device automatically quits the temperature setpoint setting function; to quit faster, press the on off key for a short time. This key is also used for surfing, scrolling and decreasing within the various programming menus. Button (On/Off) Press for 2 seconds to switch the device on or off; with the thermostat off, OFF appears on the display, while the room temperature, clock, alarms (if any) and relative humidity (optional) display functions are still operational. This key is also used to quit the various setup menus. Button (Menu) Press quickly to access the user setting submenus; FAN flashes on the display. Press + or to select the various menus in rotation: 6

Fan selection Press the menu key, scroll through it with the + key and select FAN with the menu key. Then press the + key again to select the fan operating speed, manual with SP 1 SP 2 SP 3 or automatic with AUT: = Minimum speed set (33% for brushless electronic fans). = Medium speed set (66% for brushless electronic fans). = Top speed set (100% for brushless electronic fans). = The thermostat will select the fan operating speed automatically in response to the difference between the room temperature and the temperature set. The maximum speed will be reached on the basis of the proportional band set (P11). Confirm the setting required by pressing the menu key. If thermostat operating mode is selected (P05=0) the fan stops when the temperature required (setpoint) is reached. If continual operating mode is set (P05=1) the fan continues to operate at the speed set if manual selection mode is active, or at the minimum speed if the current selection mode is automatic. If the system output probe is connected, the fan operates on the following principle: - 2 pipe system: the device responds to both the minimum fan speed enabling (P18) and maximum fan speed enabling (P19) signals. - 4 pipe system: the device responds to the minimum fan speed enabling signal (P18) but ignores the maximum fan speed enabling (P19) signal Note: when the fan is operating on the basis of the enabling signals, it does not start until the temperature set in the relative parameter is reached. Heating / cooling / fan operating mode Press MENU key, scroll through it with the + key and select MODE with the menu key. Then press the + key again to select the operating mode required: COOL, HOT, FAN. = Cooling function = Heating function = Fan only function Confirm the setting required by pressing the menu key. WARNlNG: if automatic/centralised operating mode change has been selected (P09) the MODE selection menu will not appear. 7

ECONOMY-COMFORT operating mode selection Press MENU key, scroll through it with the + key and select ECON with the menu key. Then press the + key again to select one of the two operating modes: ECONOMY and COMFORT. Confirm the setting required by pressing the menu key. = COMFORT mode, the thermostat operates on the basis of the temperature setpoint. = Selecting the ECONOMY function saves energy by varying the temperature setpoint by the value set in parameter P10, reducing the setpoint in heating mode and increasing it in cooling mode. This function can be enabled even in centralised control mode by closing the contacts of pin 1 of the RJ45; the function will be disabled when the contact is broken. Clock time and date programming Press the menu key, scroll through it with the + key and select TIME with the menu key: HRS: the hour figures flash: use the +/ keys to set the current hours and confirm with the menu key. MIN: the minute figures flash: use the +/ keys to set the current minutes and confirm with the menu key. The second level parameter menu is only for the use of the authorised technical service, and is protected by a password. Press the menu key, use the + key to scroll the menu and confirm the PAr option by pressing the menu key for 5. Parameter P01 will be displayed. Press the (menu) key to display P2LE on the display. Confirm the selection with the menu key and enter the password using the +/ keys. Once the password has been entered, confirm it with the menu key to access the list of parameters P11... P52. Scroll through the parameters with the +/ keys, select the parameter to be modified and confirm the selection with the menu key. The parameter now flashes. Modify it with the +/ keys and confirm/save the change with the menu key. Press the ESC (ON OFF) key twice in succession to return to the display's home screen. 10

Thermostat look Simplified internal diagram Installation on the wall 1. The thermostat consists of 2 parts: the back cover with the terminal block and the base with the electronics. To facilitate the assembly of the two parts are supplied separately (unhooked). Once the electrical connections have been made to the terminal block, the two parts must be joined by means of the tabs present at each corner of the box. Insert the 4 tabs in the 4 slots with a slight pressure with the hand until you hear the "click", it is advisable to hook the side of the terminals first. Figure B shows how to insert the flange into the slot. 2. The standard back cover is designed to be mounted with the 503 recessed box. If it is not supplied, it is possible to replace it with the wall-mounting cover, this accessory is purchased separately and has a depth greater respect to the standard back cover because the terminal block is inside (figure C). 11

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS CN1 The input can be used to display information from the outside. It is necessary that P33 = 1 to activate the function. The input is manageable with a voltage free contact. P32 = 1: whern it is open, the icon lights up on the display. P32 = 0: when it is closed, the icon lights up on the display. CN2 (available for idigit 2 and 3 models) Voltage free contact output for motor alarm. It is necessary that P35 and P36 are different from 0 to activate this function. If current input by the motor exceeds stablished min/max limits (see parameters P35 and P36), the contact closes. In case of exceeding P35 margin, the icon menu. lights up on the display with the indication CURR MIN of the Parameter programming In case of exceeding P36 margin, the icon menu. ligths up on the display with the indication CURR MAX of the Parameter programming Keyboard lock It is possible to lock the use of the keys by pressing the keys ON-OFF and + at the same time during 3 seconds. To unlock the use of the keys, proceed in the same way. Water temperature display If it is connected to a water temperature sensor, it will be possible to display on the screen the record of temperature in real time. Keep pressed the Menu key during 5 seconds, the screen will show the message TH2O and the temperature. After 5 seconds the system will automatically exit from this mode. Humidity control If P12 = 1 and P15 =1: Auxiliary output (Pin3-XA1) is ON (230Vac) when the ambient humidity is lower than the programmed one. If P12 = 2 and P15 =1: Auxiliary output (Pin3-XA1) is ON (230Vac) when the ambient humidity is higher than the programmed one. If P12 = 3: When ambient temperature = programmed temperature, cold output is ON (230Vac) if ambient humidity is higher than the programmed one. To change the humidity setpoint: press the ON/OFF and Menu keys at the same time. ModBus 485 communication port (available for idigit models) Specifications on demand See P42 for addressing 12
