Removable wiring terminal block for ease of wiring. All wiring is polarity insensitive. DESCRIPTION The Model 1160 is an indoor temperature transmitter that is self-contained. It contains the temperature sensor, microprocessor, measurement electronics, and network communication interface. The sensor and configuration information is communicated to other devices via the LONWORKS communication protocol. This allows multiple sensors to be used over a simple four-wire bus installation. An ultra wide 6:1 operating DC voltage range, and a 4:1 operating AC voltage range allows integration into almost any system without additional power consideration. DRY CONTACT INPUT The wiring terminal block has two terminals that are used to connect a dry contact input. This input can be used to integrate a motion sensor or a lighting switch. The interpretation of the switch input is available in many different formats via output network variables. By default the switch input is interpreted as active when the switch is closed. This can be inverted by setting nciswinvert configuration variable to ST_ON. The nvoswstate network output follows the state of the dry contact. It is set to ST_OFF when the switch is inactive and to ST_ON when switch is active. The nvoswtoggle network output toggles between ST_OFF and ST_ON each time the switch becomes active. This is ideal for turning a light on or off. For motion sensing applications, the output is available in two formats. The nvomotion and nvooccupancy are normally set to ST_OFF and OC_UNOCCUPIED respectively. They are set to ST_ON and OC_OCCUPIED respectively when the dry contact input is active and remain in that condition for a period of nciswonminutes after the switch becomes inactive. HIGH AND LOW TEMPERATURE ALARMS The Model 1160 has high and low alarm setpoints, which trigger output network variables for communicating the alarm conditions to other LonWorks products. 2 The nvotemphialm is set to ST_ON when nvotemp is larger or equal to ncitemphialmsp and turn off when nvotemp is below ncitemphialmsp - ncitempalmdb. nvotemphialm is set to ST_NUL if hardware problems are detected. The nvotemploalm is set to ST_ON when nvotemp is lower or equal to ncitemploalmsp and turn off when nvotemp is above ncitemploalmsp + ncitempalmdb. nvotemploalm is set to ST_NUL if hardware problems are detected. STATUS LED OPERATION By default, the Status LED is on the front of the Model It is a green/orange dual color LED. The orange LED is only used as the Service LED. The green LED is used for status. It flashes to indicate that the unit is operating properly. It stops flashing to indicate an error conditions. The ncistatledoff configuration network variable is by default set to ST_OFF. It can be set to ST_ON to disable the Status LED display function. By default, ncistatlednoalms is set to ST_OFF and allows the Status LED to reflect the status of the hardware as well as the High and Low temperature alarms. If ncistatlednoalms is set to ST_ON, the Status LED will only reflect the status of hardware. WIRING AND INSTALLATION The Model 1160 is supplied with a single six position removable terminal block. The terminal block allows connection of power, network and dry contact switch input. All wiring connections are polarity insensitive. The Model 1160 accepts an ultra wide VDC or VAC for power, which connects to the terminals marked VinA and VinB. Network communications connect to terminals marked with NetA and NetB. Dry contact input connects to terminals marked with MotionA and MotionB. The default configuration includes a front mounted Service Switch, Service LED, and Status LED. An optional configuration provides the Service Switch and Service LED on back of unit and without a Status LED. Please see ordering information. The on-board Service switch and LED allows installation on to the LONWORKS network. 3 MODEL 1160 network for configuration or local monitoring without disturbing the main wiring. The entire unit mounts directly to any standard single-gang wiring conduit box. ADDITIONAL HARDWARE CAPABILITIES The Model 1160 is an expandable hardware platform that can easily accommodate custom applications and hardware interfaces. NETWORK INTERFACE Configuration Network Variables Configuration network variables are input network variables that are non-volatile and retained when power is lost. Network Variable Format Default Description ncitempoffset SNVT_temp_p 0.0 C Offset for temperature calibration. This value is added to nvotemp ncitempdelta SNVT_temp_p 0.3 C Minimum change required temperature network output update. nciminsendt SNVT_time_sec 5.0 seconds Minimum time between temperature network output updates even if ncitempdelta is met. ncimaxsendt SNVT_time_sec 30.0 seconds Maximum time between network variable updates whether or not changes occur. This is sometimes called heartbeat. nciminswsendt SNVT_time_sec 0.5 seconds Minimum time between alarm and switch related output network variables whether or not a change occurred. nciswinvert SNVT_lev_disc ST_OFF When set to ST_OFF the dry contact is active when closed. Controls temperature alarm hysterisis. Output Network Variables The Model 1160 firmware is designed to control output network variable traffic. 4 heartbeat for the entire device. Output network variables will be transmitted at least once every ncimaxsendt. To disable this, set ncimaxsendt to 0. The temperature output network variables nvotemp, nvofixpttemp, nvofloattemp are only transmitted if there is a minimum of ncitempdelta change form the last transmitted value. However, they are only transmitted if nciminsendt has elapsed since last update. nciminsendt acts as a throttle to minimize traffic even if the data is changing rapidly. The nciminswsendt is the throttle for nvotemphialm, nvotemploalm, nvoswstate, nvoswtoggle, nvomotion, and nvooccupancy output network variables. Network Variable Format Description nvotemp SNVT_temp_p Temperature output 0.01 C resolution. Set to on any hardware errors. nvofixpttemp SNVT_temp Temperature output. 0.1 C resolution. Set to on any hardware errors. nvofloattemp SNVT_temp_f Temperature in floating point format. Set to 1E38 on any hardware error. nvoswstate SNVT_lev_disc State of dry contact input. ST_ON if switch is active, ST_OFF if switch is in-active. By default, switch is active when contacts are closed but can be inverted using the nciswinvert configuration variable. nvoswtoggle SNVT_lev_disc Toggle between ST_ON and ST_OFF every time the dry contact switch is activated. nvomotion SNVT_lev_disc Set to ST_ON for nciswonminutes each time the dry contact input is activated. nvooccupancy SNVT_occupancy Normally at OC_UNOCCUPIED and set to OC_OCCUPIED for nciswonminutes each time the dry contact input is activated. nvotemphialm SNVT_lev_disc High temperature alarm output status. Set to ST_ON when alarm is active, ST_OFF when inactive, and ST_NUL on any hardware error. nvotemploalm SNVT_lev_disc Low temperature alarm output status.
