1 F u j i t s u C o m p u t e r S y s t e m s Tablet Cradle User s Guide FPCCR04 I N S T R U C T I O N S This tablet cradle is designed to extend the connectivity of your tablet computer. The cradle provides a stable platform for your tablet and can also be used as a charging cradle when the tablet is not being used. Additionally, the cradle allows you to synchronize your tablet with a host system such as a desktop computer. This tablet cradle provides the following interfaces: DC In Port Used for connecting the AC adapter to supply power to the tablet. USB Ports There are two USB Type A ports and one USB Type B port on the tablet cradle. The Type A ports are used for connecting external Universal Serial Bus (USB) 1.1 devices to the tablet. These ports would typically be used to connect peripheral devices such as an external mouse, keyboard, or printer.

2 The Type B Port is used primarily to connect the cradle to a host computer for purposes of data synchronization. A standard USB A-to-B cable is included with your cradle. This cable should be used to connect your cradle to the host computer. Tablet Interface Connector The tablet interface connector allows you to connect the tablet to the cradle. Connect the system AC adapter to the DC In port (Figure 2). 3

4 2. If you intend to synchronize your tablet with a host computer, you should use the USB cable that came with the cradle. Plug the B connector of the USB cable (the square connector) into the USB Type B Port on the rear of the cradle (Figure 2). Position the tablet in landscape mode and center it against the cradle easel (Figure 3). 4. Rest the tablet against the platform so that the interface connectors are aligned. 4

5 Removing the System from the Tablet Cradle While holding the base of the tablet cradle with one hand, grasp the tablet at the top and pull it straight up from the base. Caring for the Tablet Cradle Please observe the following points when handling and caring for your tablet cradle: Be careful not to drop liquids or metallic objects on the connector pins; doing so could result in a short circuit. Unplug the AC adapter before cleaning the cradle. To clean the cradle, use a dry cloth or a cloth immersed in a diluted detergent liquid then wrung until moist. Do not use a volatile solvent such as a thinner to clean the cradle; doing so could result in the cradle becoming discolored. Periodically unplug the AC adapter from the wall and clean the cradle connector terminals with dry cotton swabs. If the terminals are dirty, contact between them and the tablet could affect normal charging and/or communication. 5
