4 2 1 Compression Card Installation 1.1 Hardware Installation Take HIKVISION DS-42xxHCI/HFVI series audio/video compression card as example. 7 Compression Card Installation For the DS-40xx series card, users need to connect external audio cable to the PC motherboard for live audio. Figure 1-4 Audio cascading cable for DS-40xxHCI/HSI card The audio cascading cable connects between multiple DS-40xxHCI/HSI cards and feeds live audio data to each of them (Figure 1-4). Figure 1-5 Audio cable for DS-40xxHCI/HSI card The audio cable connects between DS-40xxHCI/HIS and PC motherboard (Figure 1-5). Card Installation: 1. Shut down the PC and make sure the power-supply is disconnected (Figure 1-6). Figure 1-6 Unplug PC Power Supply 2. Loosen the screws (Figure 1-7).

You may need to take off the covering pieces on the PC back panel first (Figure 1-10, Figure 1-11 and Figure 1-12). 10 8 Figure 1-12 Fix the card with a screw 7. Repeat step 5 & step 6 till all the cards are installed on the motherboard. 8. Connect audio cables (Figure 1-13) (Only for DS-40xx series card) Connect audio output of the first HCI/HSI card with the audio input of the second HCI/HSI card; connect the audio output of the second HCI/HSI card with the audio input of the third HCI/HSI card, the rest may be deduced by analogy. Connect the last audio output of HCI/HSI card with the CD_IN interface of PC motherboard or PC sound card. Figure 1-13 Live Audio Cable Connection (For DS-40xx Series Card) 9. Connect external video/audio cables, the red cables are for video connection and white cables are for audio connection.

16 Driver Installation Run the Driver Install.exe complied with the card to install the card driver. 1. Click Install or Update Driver. Figure 1-23 Driver Installation Interface 2. Click Continue Anyway to continue hardware installation. If there is more than one card inserted in the PC or more than one DSP in one card, the operation system will remind you of repeating the above process. Figure 1-24 Hardware Installation Warning Message 3. When the installation is done, the Driver Installed Successfully! message will be displayed on the screen.

After Driver install success message popup during driver installation, there will be Hikvision DS42xx Series displayed in the list Sound, Video and Game Controller of Windows Device Manager as below. 18 16 2 IP Camera Installation 2.1 IP Camera Connection Mode Wireless-Connection Wireless connection can be divided into Ad-hoc mode and Infrastructure mode. Ad-hoc mode is to connect IP camera directly to a PC with wireless support (Figure 2-1), while Infrastructure mode is to connect IP camera to a wireless access point (Figure 2-2). Users need to configure IP Masquerade (Virtual Server) as Figure 2-4. Figure 2-4 DirectoryLine Connection 2.2 Modify IP Camera Configuration The default IP for HIKVISION IP camera is , with 8000 as port number and admin / as default user name / password. The administrator can create up to 15 operators with separate privilege settings. To identify each IP camera, users need to modify each camera s network parameters (IP, port number, etc) via the SADP software in the attached CD. Run SADP software and all the on-line devices will be listed with IP address, port number, serial number, etc (Figure 2-5).

20 18 Figure 2-5 Search IP Cameras If the IP address is not in the required IP section, users can modify the network parameters in the SADP software. Click the device on the list and input administrator s password (12345 by default) and click [Modify].

21 19 3 GSM Modem Installation 3.1 Hardware Installation GSM MODEM is a physical device for sending short messages. With industrial level GSM module embedded and a simplified communication interface, the GSM Module works with high stability and meets various commercial or industrial application requirements. This Document gives example of a certain kind of GSM modem, and for the other GSM modems, the installation and configuration steps are similar GSM Modem Description The sample GSM modem is displayed as below (Figure 3-1). 25 23 Figure 3-8 Install Antenna 3. Connect Serial Cable: Connect the round plug-in pin with GSM modem, and the DB9 connector to the PC (Figure 3-9, Figure 3-10). 26 Driver Installation When the GSM Modem is connected to the PC, a dialog box will popup for Windows driver installation (Figure 3-11). Figure 3-11 Windows Driver Installation Inset the CD attached with GSM Modem into the PC, and click [Automatic] in Figure 3-11, and the system will automatically detect and install the driver as Figure3-12. Alarm box converts between alarm data and electronic level signals and trigger alarm This Document gives example of alarm box installation and connection with ivms-2000 software. 32 30 5 Install and Uninstall 5.1 Installation Please refer to the following steps during ivms-2000 installation. Step1: Insert the ivms-2000 installation CD into the PC CD-ROM, and run on the CD. The install shield dialog box will be displayed (Figure 2-1), and dialog box as Figure 2-2 will be displayed a few seconds later (the time interval depends on the PC configuration). Figure2-1 Preparing to Install Step2: Click Next (N) (Figure 2-2) and select the installation path (Figure 2-3), or click Cancel to cancel the installation.

34 32 Step4: Click Install (I) in the dialog box as Figure 2-4 to start ivms-2000 installation (Figure 2-5), or click Back (B) to return to Select Installation Path (Figure 2-3). 35 33 add IPC if you have not installed WinPcap), and click Next to start WinPcap installation (Figure 2-8). Click Next to continue, or click Cancel to cancel Installation and go to the Installation Complete Interface directly (Figure 2-12). Figure 2-6 Ready to Install WinPcap If WinPcap has already installed on the PC, warning message box will prompt (Figure 2-7). Click OK to reinstall WinPcap, or click Cancel to skip WinPcap installation and go to Installation Complete Interface directly (Figure 2-12). Click Back to return to Figure 2-6, or click Cancel to skip WinPcap Installation and go to Installation Complete Interface directly (Figure 2-12).

38 36 Step9: After WinPcap installation finished, ivms-2000 Installation Complete Interface will pop up (Figure 2-12), click Finish to complete the ivms-2000 installation process. Figure 2-12 ivms-2000 Installation Complete Interface Note:For Windows Operating System below Vista, users need to install Windows updates before using CD/DVD backup function (Install the file in CD: WindowsXP-KB v2-x86-ENU.exe).

39 Uninstall Please refer to the following steps before removing ivms-2000 systems from personal computers. Step1: Select All programs -> WinPcap -> Uninstall WinPcap in the start menu of the Windows operating system, and click Uninstall in the prompt dialog box (Figure 2-13) to uninstall the WinPcap. Figure 2-13 WinPcap Uninstall Interface Step2: WinPcap un-installation takes only a few seconds, after the un-installation is complete, click Finish in the prompt dialog box (Figure 2-14) to finish the un-installation.
