3 1. Introduction Ricoh s new A4 colour MFPs and printers are highly capable desktop devices. The MFPs, which are equipped with document feeders and duplexes, are designed to be used as multipurpose document hubs by SMBs and small workgroups. The printers are offered as lower cost alternatives for customers with print only requirements. The new models are well specified and easy to use. The MFPs feature a 4.3 colour touchscreen operation panel that simplifies use of advanced imaging features, such as scan to and ID card copy. The colour touchscreen operation panel offers more extensive functionality and is easier to use than the LCD control panels of older models. It also requires less steps to operate than competitor models. High quality 600 x 2400 dpi colour output is produced at a brisk 20 pages per minute. The MFPs support printing, copying, scanning and fax, and are equipped, as standard, with either an ADF or an SPDF. The SPDF (SP C261SFNw and SP C262SFNw) saves time by scanning both sides of documents in a single pass. In higher volume applications, the standard 250 sheets paper supply can be extended to 750 sheets with the addition of an optional second tray. All models are wirelessly enabled and support mobile printing using AirPrint, Mopria and Google Cloud Print applications. With WiFi Direct, smart phones and tablets can be easily connected using Ricoh s Smart Device Connector app. To connect, users only need to touch their Android device on the NFC tag or scan the displayed QR code. The products cover all market requirements: Price fighters: SP C260SFNw (MFP) and SP C260DNw (printer) are entry-level models. The GDI engines allow price sensitive customers to take advantage of class-leading MFP/printer specifications at the lowest possible price point. Office essentials: SP C261SFNw (MFP) and SP C261DNw (printer) are added value solutions. They support PCL and PostScript printing - standard requirements in most offices - and the MFP boasts a single-pass document feeder that supports double-sided scanning and copying. 7 4. Configuration Mainframe Hardware Configuration The colour desktop MFPs support printing, copying, scanning and fax. They feature a 4.3 colour touchscreen panel and are equipped with a duplex, a document feeder and a 250 sheet paper tray. SP C260SFNw has an ADF and SP C262SFNw and SP C262SFNw have SPDFs. The colour desktop printers are equipped with a duplex and a 250 sheet paper tray. A 500 sheet second tray is offered as an option for all models. SP C260SFNw/DNw are GDI printers. Acting as document hubs, the MFPs will meet a variety of needs, including printing and copying in colour, scanning to , folder, FTP and USB, and sending and receiving fax messages. The compact MFPs and printers can be used as personal systems in SOHO/COHO and executive offices or as shared solutions in reception areas, administration departments, sales branches, school offices and shops. SOHO/COHO SP C260SFNw and SP C260DNw are entry-level models. The GDI engines allow price sensitive customers to take advantage of class-leading MFP/printer specifications at the lowest price point. 20 8. Service and Supplies The new MFPs and printers are user maintained. The only consumables are print cartridges and a waste toner bottle. SP C260SFNw/SP 260DNw and SP C261SFNw/SP C261DNw are designed for lower volumes applications and use regular yield toner cartridges. Whilst relatively inexpensive to replace, the use of lower yield cartridges does increase page costs. SP C262SFNw/SP C262DNw are TCO models. They support larger document volumes (65,000 page duty cycle) and use high yield and ultra-high yield cartridges. The high yield and ultra-high yield cartridges are more economical to buy than regular yield cartridges and, with the initial hardware costs amortised over larger document volumes, SP C262SFNw and SP C262DNw offer the lowest total cost of ownership in their class. The savings are apparent at relatively low print volumes. The cartridges are not interchangeable between model types.
