1 WiCheck TestCase Report TestCase Name: IPERF3_DL_TCP Traffic for multiple card multiple size groups Description: The purpose of the test is to check the variation of TCP DL throughput with change in number of clients when tested against a dual band AP(SUT). The application used is iperf3. Methodology: Wicheck Box is capable of supporting upto 2 cards with each card capable of supporting upto 256 WiFi Clients per radio. It is possible to split Clients into equal size 'groups' for ease of configuration and control. The groupsize setting in the beginning of each iteration determines how many clients will be simultaneously configured and connected to the AP. The test starts with setting of groupsize to 1 on two cards. These group of clients are then connected to the AP. iperf TCP DL traffic is then run simultaneously on the Clients in the group and the aggregate throughput is noted. This process is then repeated for group size of 28,32,48. 5 Glossary: A: A station is given a unique A during the association process with the access point. This A is unique to the station and the access point. The A numbers start from 1 to AP: Access Point BSS: The BSS is the MAC address of the wireless access point. Connect Time: The time elapsed between a station transitioning from _ state to _ state. IP Assignment Time: The time taken to get the IP from the DHCP server. Throughput: Rate if data transfer from one end to the other, used mainly in the context of TCP. It is typically measured in Mbps (MegaBitsPerSecond). Goodput: This is used in the context of UDP. It is the rate of the data transfer accounting for the loss when transferred over the system (one end to the other). RSSI: Received Signal Strength Indicator, typically reported in dbm. SNR: Signal to Noise ratio. Channel Occupancy: The amount of time the channel is sensed as occupied (busy) by receiver. This is expressed as a percentage (%). SUT: System Under Test IPERF: Iperf (also called iperf2 sometimes) is a popular network performance tool that can create UDP/TCP data streams and measure the goodput/throughput of a network. IPERF3: Iperf3 is an enhanced and completely new implemenation of iperf and is used as a network performance measurement tool. For more info refer to ( DL Downlink: refers in this context to the direction of data transfer from AP/SUT to the Client. UL Uplink: refers in this context to the direction of data transfer from Client to the SUT/AP. IPERF3_DL_TCP_Traffic_for_multiple_card_multiple_size_groups_2017_02_10_15_31_09.pdf 5/5
