17 Scientific Gateways and eduroam Installations Identity Federations MoU between CHAIN-REDS and ELCIRA (Europe Latin-America Collaborative e- infrastructure for Research Activities ) Synergies with the training and deploying of IdP in LA the region CHAIN REDS has helped to start/consolidate FIdMex (Mexico). In cooperation with ELCIRA has promoted other emerging ones (Ecuador, Colombia and Peru). LA has an active participation in CHAIN-REDS/TERENA meetings. Best-practice documents and how-to material from AAI (Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure) were adapted for the LA environment. LA SG TaskForce lead by UNAM is supporting SCALAC SG with Several Apps eduroam, as a prototype federated service, promotes IdP/IdF in the region CHAIN-REDS first periodic review, Madrid, January

19 Opportunities to collaborate Innovation services for the network (NREN) Any combination of advanced computing services that becomes a plus service for the NREN (i.e. HPC, Future Internet PPP, Grid, Cloud, Science Gateways, Visualization, different API) Cloud Computing Test Beds Access to Cloud Computing services via a Science Gateway Software development for Cloud Computing Applications
20 Conclusions There is a great opportunity to continue collaboration with EU institutions and private sector We are interested in providing advanced connectivity and access to advanced computing tools for our membership We are interested in specific collaboration on Future Internet and Cloud computing not only from the technological point of view but also in developing applications that support thematic communities in their research and education activities and the participation of the private (particularly SMEs) and government sectors
