8 London Array main contract suppliers (Phase one) Wind turbines Siemens Wind Power are supplying MW turbines, fitted with new 120m rotor. Contract executed: May 2009 Siemens Wind Power has over 20 years experience. Foundations Supplied by a JV between Par Aarsleff A/S and Bilfinger Berger GmBH Contract executed: November 2009 WT and foundation installation Being installed by Aarsleff A/S and Bilfinger Berger Ingeniuerbeau GmBH. Contract executed: November 2009 Offshore substation Design, fabrication and installation awarded to Future Energy a JV between Fabricom, lemants and Geosea. Contract executed: September 2009 Supplied the offshore substation for the Belwind Offshore Wind Farm Export cable supply Nexans Norway are supplying the 220km of 150kV export cable. Contract executed: September 2009 Over 20 years experience 8

9 London Array main contract suppliers (Phase one) Array cable supply JDR Cable Systems are supplying the 210km of 33kV array cables. Contract executed: November 2009 Experience on five offshore power cable projects. Export and array cable installation Being installed by Visser and Smit Marine Contracting Contract executed: February 2010 Onshore substation Awarded to Siemens Transmission and Distribution Ltd. Contract executed: September 2009 Have constructed four onshore NGET substations and two offshore substations. Offshore installation vessels MPI Adventure and Discovery and A2 SEA s Sea Worker. Ballast Nedam s HLV Svanen also used to install 11 foundations. A2 Sea s Sea Jack will also be used for installation activities. Contract executed: A2SEA October 2009, MPI February 2010 MPI owns the Resolution and A2SEA has over five years experience O&M base design and construction Designed by BBLB Architects. Constructed by Mansell, managed from their Maidstone office. 9

12 The Crown Estate Round 1 and 2 As the owner of the seabed the Crown Estate has a central role in the delivery of UK offshore wind Round 1 Demonstration Projects 18 Projects, 13 locations 30 turbines maximum 20MW minimum installed 10 km2 maximum area 22 year leases Round 2 Fully Commercial 15 Sites Agreements for lease in territorial waters and UKCS 40/50 year leases depending on site capacity Option fees according to size 12

14 Round 3 Rapid development of offshore wind capacity is key to the delivery of the UK's share of the EU target of 20 per cent renewable energy by Round 3 leasing programme anticipates the delivery of up to 25 GW (gigawatts) of new offshore wind farm sites by The Crown Estate has allocated the 9 zones to development consortia, who have exclusive rights to develop wind farms in their allocated zones. The successful development consortia will remain wholly responsible for construction and operation of wind farm sites. The grid connection will be owned & operated and may be constructed by an Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO) 14

16 France July 2011: International call for bids for the installation of 3GW of offshore capacity April 2012: Winning bids announced four out of five locations awarded. Two consortiums led by EDF and Iberdrola. Fifth location on tender until 16 Sept End 2012: French Government about to launch second round of offshore wind tenders for two more locations (750MW Le Trepot in northern France and up to 600MW off the island of Noirmoutier) 2013: Hints of an even bigger tender to follow to propel France towards meetings its target of 6GW of offshore capacity by : Target for start up of first wind farms 16
