3 Organization Background Indonesia Smart Grid Initiative (PJCI) established in July 6th, 2015, is a legal entities that received the principal license of association from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Decree on August 17th. For Indonesia, the necessity of Smart Grid technology have surfaced however, implementation of the technology still requires much work to do. Smart Grid infrastructure possessed a great deal of dependency towards national electricity grid in which PT PLN (Persero) is the majority owner and the responsible party of such facilities, however, Smart Grid that combines the advancement of Information and Communication Technology by one way or another will engage many parties such as Government as the regulator & consumer, Industries, business people or community to participate in the effort of implementing Smart Grid technology in Indonesia as a solution of achieving better utility service from PLN or Government. Initiated by concerns from numerous parties towards the development of Smart Grid technology in developed country and neighboring countries, Indonesians intellectuals from various well known University along with utility practitioners establish an organization named Prakarsa Jaringan Cerdas Indonesia or Indonesia Smart Grid Initiative with the main objective to prepare technology institution, regulation, education and entrepreneurial as well as forming systematic road map for Smart Grid implementation as a solution towards Smart Indonesia. The organization is an independent, professional and transparent nongovernmental organization that placed the National Interest as the priority above sectoral, business and individual interest as well as not affiliated with any political parties.

4 Boards of Organization BOARD OF EXECUTIVE Consist of those whom elected as the ones with responsibility of protecting the organization vision and mission. BOARD OF EXPERTS Consist of those with expertise and seasoned experienced to provide solutions on organizational or Smart Grid related matters. SUPERVISORY COUNCIL Consist of those ordered to supervise the progress and ensure the achievement of objectives set by committing transparency, quality management and responsibility. ADMINISTRATOR COUNCIL Consist of those whom elected to execute the organization s program appropriate to the vision and mission as well as advice from supervisory council or board of experts.

5 Vision To be a trustworthy model in the effort of collaborating enhanced technology in the field of Energy and IT towards a Smart Indonesia. Mission Vision & Mission 1. To initiate the preparation of technological institution, regulation, education and entrepreneurship required to establish Smart Grid in Indonesia. 2. To Gather and initiate cooperation among the intellectual, practitioner and government official in order to establish Indonesia s Smart Grid concept which is capable to manifest Smarter and prosper Indonesia. 3. To ensure that the concept of Smart Grid in Indonesia is capable to be a solid foundation for the utilization of enhanced technology without dependency towards another country. 4. To ensure that the concept of Smart Grid in Indonesia is in accordance with Indonesia s goals to establish Smart Living, Smart City and Smart Indonesia. 5. Initiate the effort of socializing Smart grid concept to obtain community support, which could accelerate the concept implementation.

Academician particularly those who involved or experienced in the electricity and ICT field or from other field such as finance, law, entrepreneur, renewable energy and education. 3. Practitioner or business people on the field of utilities and ICT as well as experts on utility investment. Special 1. Foreign citizens qualified of contributing, sharing knowledge and network for the purpose of organization. 2. Special member proposed by the Administrator Council and Board of Executive.

7 1. Discussion forum through seminar or webinar. 2. Sosialize papers from seminars or researches particularly the ones related to smart grid development program in Indonesia. Organization Activities 3. Address the discussion and/or research result to the government to accelerate smart grid implementation in Indonesia. 4. Discussion and preparation of Smart Grid Roadmap. 5. Analyze and provide a suitable business model that capable to ensure investment sustainability on Smart Grid business. 6. Address rules and regulation which require adjustment in order to guarantee consumer s right and investor s legal certainty as well as to prevent effort of negative practices such as business cartel or monopoly. 7. Participate and support Smart grid related government programs to encourage Smart grid implementation in Indonesia.
