Asia Pacific Gateway Cable System Asia Pacific Gateway or (APG) is a 11,000 kilometre cable that connects Malaysia to Japan with 11 landing stations. It is known as the most connected Intra-Asia submarine cable. APG uses 40Gbps optical transmission technology with a total design of 54.8 terabits per second. Being 100Gbps technology-ready, it is one of the most advanced Intra-Asia cable systems catering for future dynamic traffic requirements. By having the APG cable system as our own capacity, GT is the 1st non-incumbent provider that is able to provide connectivity directly to Malaysia. And by landing directly in Malaysia, it will lower dependency on Singapore as the regional hub. 10 Our growing global footprint Global Network AAE-1 Cable System Asia-Africa-Europe-1 (AAE-1), a unique, next generation cable system, is built by an all-star consortium of 19 global service providers. It ventures to be the largest, newest cable constructed, to link all major Asian, African, Middle Eastern and European nations, via the lowest latency subsea route. The cable, with a length of 25,000 kilometres, connects Hong Kong, Vietnam and Thailand, with Malaysia and Singapore, then onwards to Myanmar, India, Pakistan, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Yemen, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Greece, Italy and France. It deploys state-of-the-art 100Gbps technology with future-proof design (40Tbps initially) to accommodate advancements in optical technology. It also features a 10ms improvement in Round-Trip-Delay on the HE-Europe route compared to alternative subsea systems. One of the unique features of AAE-1 is that whilst it terminates at two POPs in Singapore, it also continues further into Asia via diverse terrestrial routes across Thailand, connecting Vietnam and Hong Kong. This routing enables AAE-1 to have one of the lowest latencies between Hong Kong, India, Middle East and Europe. Unity is known as one of the fastest transpacific routes, with latency of 96ms. It is leading the revolution of POP-to-POP cables that connect directly to Chikura and Los Angeles data centres without any backhaul. At Chikura, Unity is connected to another cable system known as Japan Interlink, which transits from Asia to Transpacific. FASTER is a new undersea cable with a distance of 10,290 kilometres that will connect major west coast cities in the US to two coastal locations in Japan with a design capacity of 60Tb/s. FASTER will be designed with 6-fibre-pair cable and optical transmission technologies with an initial capacity of 60Tb/s (100Gb/s x 100 wavelengths x 6 fiber-pairs). Designed as a POP-to-POP cable system, it will connect to hubs in Los Angeles and San Francisco, California; Portland, Oregon; and Seattle, Washington. Faster is the new alternative route for transpacific cables, and hence complements the existing Unity System.
