In 2012 we completed a massive multi-service carrier infrastructure programme, investing in two private and five consortium cable systems including TGN-Gulf, TGN-EA, SMW4, IMEWE and SMW3. Our Middle East infrastructure now enables customers to connect to Europe, Africa and Asia via both terrestrial and submarine cables. There are 18 PoPs in the Middle East (and counting) through our direct nodes, connecting 21 countries in the surrounding region, 70 global countries served by our IP / MPLS / Ethernet network and 190 countries where we offer Extended Access services. CONNECTING THE MIDDLE EAST TO THE REST OF THE WORLD At Tata Communications, we have a strategic focus on the emerging markets and can support your expansion into the Middle East a region our customers see as a major growth opportunity. By providing access to our global footprint, we give you connectivity to leading Global VPN, WAN Ethernet and IP transit services, enabling your and your customers businesses to connect to the rest of the world. GLOBAL VPN SERVICES We have 18 direct access PoPs and partner network-to-network service coverage across 12 countries in the Middle East. Through our Extended Access Service, our Global VPN can be accessed from over 190 countries across the world, offering a consistent and industry-leading service with six Classes of Service available to meet the needs of your customers applications. DEDICATED ETHERNET SERVICES We are the only provider with an Ethernet ring around the Middle East; other providers route their regional traffic through Europe and Asia. Our dedicated Ethernet PoPs are located in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE. These PoPs connect into our Global Ethernet services across 54 countries worldwide and are also part of our next-generation Ethernet network. So we re able to support a vastly increased number of VLANS and MAC addresses, and scale easily to meet future demands. Ethernet services are also available in Egypt, Turkey, Bahrain and Oman. IP TRANSIT Our direct access PoPs are located in Jeddah, Riyadh and Fujairah and are capable of delivering up to 100GB ports to service providers. We offer direct connectivity services between the Middle East and Africa over the TGN-Gulf, SEACOM and TEAMS cable systems. We provide connectivity from TGN-EA, SEACOM, SMW4 and IMEWE landing countries (via Marseille, France) and from WACS landing countries (via Seixal, Portugal) for IP transit to AS6453 locations in Europe and North America, with a fully redundant and diverse backbone.
