9 Cyber Innovation Challenge #1 Cyber Innovation Challenge #1 addressed the overarching needs of the PCTE event management Based on Best of Breed products from vendors the following areas were addressed: Infrastructure services to include Distributed private cloud, automated environment provisioning and environment reset Scheduling based on Resource availability and time Event Planning implementation of a semi-automated scenario including Blue/Grey Traffic Generation Event Execution provide an ability to execute team training User Interface Develop Training Package Develop Scenario Schedule Resources Deploy Environment Execute Training Monitor Training Assess Training Virtual Environment Compute and Storage 9

10 Lessons Learned Cyber Innovation Challenge #1 applied a broad scope across the entire PCTE event management Specific capabilities identified due to systems gaps and demonstrated capabilities Seeking industry partners that provide mature demonstrable specific capabilities and perform these capabilities well Evaluators consist of CMF users (Training Managers, Trainees) Included scenario with a dynamic near-real time update Hands-On demonstrations and user evaluation in emulated environment Emulated Security partitioning as part of system evaluation Integration to the DEVOPS environment from inception Continuous market research with monthly contractor meetings, based on specific technical capabilities 10
