5 Introduction : What is STP? A voluntary certification programme Open to all players based in Singapore that are involved in supply chain activities Consistent with the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Framework of Standards to secure & facilitate global trade How STP works? Why? To help various players in the supply chain How? Results? By identifying and focusing on any security gaps in companies operations Companies can take steps to mitigate the risks and vulnerabilities Raise the level of security for companies operations Provide customers with the assurance that operations are safe & secure 3

Company will be accorded with STP status A new higher tier of STP certification. The STP Criteria is an enhanced version of STP Guidelines. Company has to meet all the minimum requirements in the STP Criteria. Company will be accorded with STP-Plus status 4

Found that many companies already have robust security measures and best practices that exceeded the STP Guidelines Many companies are more aware of supply chain security and are ready to progress To progress our mutual recognition discussions with other Customs administrations, STP needs to be aligned with international standards Benefits of STP Certification Recognised as trusted partners of Singapore Customs: Designated account managers Trade Facilitation benefits e.g. reduced bank guarantee quantum where applicable Assistance & funding schemes offered to enhance supply chain security capabilities of companies 5
